Are you yourself an American? Come on down and see how close you can come to getting offended! What does a bar based on a slavery novel look like? Come find out! Of course the owners are almost certainly coming from a place of genuine respect and appreciation for Old South culture, and Germans aren't as sensitive as Americans are regarding racial issues, but it's certainly cringey at times. read more

Bigger cities like Cologne and Düsseldorf have these charming little coffee shops on every corner, but in Dortmund it seems like the whole city is coming here to eat breakfast. It's always full and the place itself is crammed with tables and chairs, so there is no room to even wait inside for a free spot. They have a sunday breakfast/brunch buffet, which is just complete mayham and I got claustrophobic in about 0.3 seconds. I bought cake here a couple of times and it has always been very nice but come on, 7€ for TWO slices?! TAKEAWAY? I'm really kinda "meh" about this place.. You can't relax here, the food is good but a bit pricy and overall it's just a bit of an avarage place. Try it out at least once but don't say I didn't warn ya.

Eine Mischung aus einem Eckrestaurant und einer Eckkneipe. Von leckeren Hauptspeisen bis hin zu köstlichen Desserts und kleinen Mitternachtssnack gibt es hier alles. Auch getränketechnisch kann man von Bier über Wein bis hin zu fantastischen Cocktails alles bekommen. Das Personal ist stets gut gelaunt und aufmerksam. Die Toiletten sind in der Regel sauber. Wir kommen hier gerne mit Freunden hin und haben schon einige lange und lustige Abende erlebt. Preislich ist es schon gehoben im Vergleich zu anderen Ausgehmöglichkeiten im Kreuzviertel. An einigen Sommertagen Ist das Restaurant voll ausgelastet. Nahezu jeder Tisch ist besetzt, da müsste auch das Personal erhöht werden. Im Sommer saßen wir zweimal draußen und unsere Getränke kamen nach einer halben Stunde. Trotzdem verbinde ich viel positives mit dem Uncle Tom's. Ich werde hier noch öfter hingehen und kann es auch jedem anderen nur empfehlen. read more

Das Lokal ist urig und gemütlich, die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und "auf Zack". Ich hatte ein "Grandfather's Steak", Medium mit Salat und Kräuterbutter. Das Fleisch war sehr zart und saftig, auf den Punkt gebraten und geschmacklich hervorragend. Es war eine wirklich große Portion. Preis/Leistungsvergältnis sehr gut! Ich kann dieses Lokal absolut empfehlen! Außerdem bietet sich von der Terrasse aus ein netter Anblick ins Viertel. read more

Auch gestern Abend war es wieder sehr schön im Uncle Tom's, die beiden Kellner sind sehr Aufmerksam, wirklich klasse. Denen beiden hat man angemerkt, dass Sie Ihren Job gerne machen. Die Getränke (Cocktails) kamen schnell und waren wirklich sehr lecker. Um 23 Uhr haben wir dann noch Nachos mit Käse überbacken gegessen, super. Wir kommen wirklich sehr gerne wieder read more

Super Bar mit netter Bedienung und angenehmer Atmosphäre. Im Sommer kann man schön draußen sitzen und sämtliche Speisen die ich bisher dort probiert habe haben immer gut geschmeckt. read more
