You could take your chances with a random Google listing, or you could call Buford General Contractors and get real professionals. Our job was a complex one. Our house is 40 years old and was suffering considerable wood rot on the deck that had spread into the side of the house. This caused not only a rickety, rotting deck, but water leaks in the house where the wood had rotted through. Not good! What started as a simple deck resurfacing turned into a complex job involving rebuilding the deck stairs, ripping out the old rotten wooden deck surface, replacing it with more durable surfacing that was resistant to rot, and this is the most hairy part.....finding the source of those water leaks and stopping them. One great thing about Buford is that they have great relationships with local subcontractors. If something is not their specialty, they have a Rolodex of numbers they can call for vetted, quality contractors to assist. This job required many specialties, and they coordinated with specialists to give us a great job done the first time. When big storms came after the job and there was still some leaking, they had a man onsite that day who quickly identified the source of an additional leak coming from rotted trim boards above the deck. This was very good and totally not their fault, as the trim boards above the deck were not part of the deck resurfacing, stair rebuilding and wood rot remediation of the deck itself. The price for this additional work was more than fair and it was done quickly and professionally. Seriously, if you live around Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville or HEB, call them. They were always prompt, professional and reasonable. Not too expensive and not too cheap. You get what you pay for, after all.

Paradise Construction and Remodeling or Preston McGuire owner nor would I hire them to do any kind of work or recommend him to anyone. All I can say is beware of A. Paradise Construction and Remodeling if you're in need of any kind of work to be done and considering them. On 8/23/2017, I signed a contract with A. Paradise Construction and Remodeling, Preston McGuire owner at, 10648 Towerwood Dr.. Ft. Worth, TX. 76140 Ph. no. 817-713-5479, to remodel a small bathroom. This contract carried a 4 year warranty against workmanship and leaks. The work consisted of; 1. Remove and replace when complete the vanity and towel .2. Some minor construction work on the shower door opening, replace the shower value (which we furnished), remove all the existing tile and backer board replace with hardy board type backer board retile the shower walls and floor. 3. Retile the bathroom floor. 4. Texture the bathroom walls and repaint. All work was to be completed 4 to 5 days no more than a week. Work started on 8/ 29. Preston McGuire's step brother Ryan Little, owner of RL Construction & Remodeling out of Lawton, OK. Ph. no. 580-559-3722 did all the work. Due to him having personal and business problems in Oklahoma there were a lot of delays, after installing the shower floor Ryan had to pull it up and retile due to poor quality cut tile around shower drain. Most of the work was completed on around Thur. 9/28/17. Ryan Little, had some personal problems in Oklahoma so I agreed to grout the shower floor and reset the towel so he could be in Oklahoma on Friday the 29th. . I had some paint work to do plus have the granite vanity top installed so we didn't use the shower until 10/20/17, at which time I discovered the shower didn't have any water pressure and hardly any hot water. Plus the shower floor wouldn't drain properly. The center drain was higher than rest of the floor allowing up to ¼" of water stand in shower that wouldn't drain and it seemed like the drain itself had a blockage (possible due to some of the material falling into the drain when Ryan tore out the old shower pan). I have scheduled a plumper to look at this situation/problem this week. The cost of the contract with A. Paradise Construction and Remodeling was $2600.00. A $1000.00 up front and the balance when the job was finished, which we paid to Ryan Little on 9/28. This was before we knew we had these problems. And it appears the 4 year warranty isn't worth the paper it written on. I started trying to get in touch with Preston and Ryan on 10/21. Called every day the following week. As far as Preston McGuire, one day they answered and hung up, every other time it went to voice mail but it was full and you couldn't, leave a message. With Ryan, I left a message every day but never got a return call On 10/24/2017 I called Home Advises who originally listed A. Paradise Construction as a reliable contractor. They told me they had dropped him from their listing as a reliable contractor and had not been able to get in touch with them.I also filed a complaint with the Ft. Worth BBB early Dec. Talked with both Home Adviser and the BBB on l/ 12/2018 neither had gotten a response from Preston McGuire by phone or e-mail.

DELAYS, FALSE REPRENSENTATIONON, AND POOR COMMUNICATION!!!! NOT RECOMMENDATED!!! In July 2025, we…read moreadvertised a construction job on Yelp to enclose our existing back porch with two walls of windows from floor to ceiling and an eight' sliding glass door. In essence, we wanted it to turn it into a modern-looking sunroom. They were confident they could build it, so we contracted with them to do it as soon as we had HOA approval and obtained a city building permit. They required 50% payment upfront so they could special-order the custom windows and door. After we obtained HOA approval, Mike Davis came to our house and said they can't build it per the contract drawing and tried to persuade us to accept something that had almost as much solid walls as windows, no transom windows, and no more floor to ceiling windows, but with material you could buy from almost any home improvement store. His reasoning was the transom windows would not fit even though he put them on the contract diagram we had all approved. Also, the proposed windows would be narrower and would not be floor to ceiling saying the city building code wouldn't allow it. He also said they could not get the color window frames we wanted, and the frames would be vinyl instead of aluminum as promised. Most of his excuses were found to be incorrect. It was not what we contracted for them to do. This upset us very much and we told his business partner this was probably breach of contract and we wanted our money back so we could hire a different contractor. After we rejected his cheap imitation of what we wanted, we found out his business applied for a building permit with his new drawing, not the contract drawing, and not what the HOA had approved and without our approval. Afterwards, and months of negotiations, they hired a SUBcontractor to do the job. A design with floor to ceiling windows with a large eight' sliding glass door. After many delays, in mid November 2025, the subcontractor installed the sliding glass door and windows. Everything was acceptable except for the screen doors that didn't fit well and had a hole rubbed in the screen. The SUBcontractor said he would have the manufacturer replace the screen doors and would return and install them within 2 weeks. Razcomm was paid in full the following day. In the meantime, it rained and water flooded into the house under the window frame. This was reported to Jason, the business partner, to relay to the subcontractor to fix. The subcontractor never returned to do anything. According to Jason, the subcontractor would not respond to his texts. Finally, after months of requesting every other week for someone to fix the leak and the screens, Mike came and put caulk under the frame to stop it from leaking. He said he would fix the hole in the screen but never returned. He and Jason were blaming everything on subcontractor, but our contract is with Razcomm--not the subcontractor. As of today, their website on google could not be reached and neither Mike nor his business partner answer texts or email from us.

Areas to include tile floor throughout the house, baseboards, and the entire kitchen. The contractor never completed the job and the areas they did install were done incorrectly. During demo, they also broke something in our electrical/breaker causing my living room to not have power and random power outages. Work was paid in full, and now they will not return calls or make attempts to make things right. I have a medically complex child that consumes my day to day and find it incredibly unprofessional the way they have managed this project. They have essentially stole our money for services they did not render, they have taken advantage of our kindness and grace. Contractually, they are bind by our agreement and they have not complied. Unacceptable. The incomplete areas are further damaging since they have not been sealed/finished. Details of issues below: Tile floors throughout the house (approx 1800SF), have hollowing, uneven/very light grout color, when it should just be dark brown, stains from texturing/painting and odd areas that are white, makes me think its coming from underneath the tiles. Baseboards were never finished, many areas with drywall exposed, wrong paint used (water-base paint) and cannot be cleaned because the paint comes off, and some not painted at all, the corner baseboards do not connect and have large space between them (seperating more now., also the bottom part of the baseboards that were installed are not sealed which I was adamant about since water from mopping collects under them, causing the material to warp. Kitchen backsplash incorrectly installed, they put grout instead of silicone where the backsplash meets the countertops, its now crusty, stained, and cracked. The base cabinets where my range is, has a small wooden piece propping up the cabinet, presume the cabinets weren't balanced and if that comes out they'll tilt and damage the countertops. On the same side there is a big gap on each side - again, presume that contributes to the lack of foundational support. Inside of my pantry the flooring is completely stained with debris, also doesn't have baseboards installed. The kitchen was supposed to be painted but is incomplete and the walls they retextured are rough and splattered everywhere and will not come out. Living room does not have power in any of the outlets, breaker also has issues tripping since the demo, causing us to not have power or very little. Also, floors were stained when they painted "some" of the kitchen and hallway because they did not lay down anything to protect the floors. Majority of outlet covers missing or poorly installed and are "floating" Master bathroom toilet closet has holes in the walls from the crowbar they used to remove previous boards, toilet not fixed into floor and moves easily. Painters tape still framing that room and other areas that I have not been able or should have to remove. I am most likely forgetting things, but I am overwhelmed. This is not ok.
