She does not provide: -resumé advice -cover letter advice -interview tips and practice I engaged her services to make a career change and while that did happen, I am attributing it mostly to other factors rather than what transpired during the sessions. When I was finally attempting to move on to a different job, she was completely unwilling to even broach the topics listed above which was what I needed for my next steps. Furthermore, when you engage her services she asks you to pay for a package of sessions upfront. I asked to refund my two remaining sessions with the hope I could use that money to retain an actual career coach. She refused. I think Alissa needs to change the language around how she advertises herself to prevent scenarios like this. If you are looking to move on in your career, I suggest finding an actual career coach. If you are looking for counseling, I suggest finding a licensed therapist. They have 2+ years of professional training rather than a mere certification in life coaching. She was trained through the Martha Beck Institute which costs around $800 to obtain "certification." Additionally, she lives in Littleton and I was in Arvada. She was never willing to drive more than halfway in my direction, and I understand that people have busy schedules but for her hourly rate, I don't think it's too much to ask for her to come to Arvada at least once. Alissa is not a bad person. I think her heart is in the right place. I just think she needs to reconfigure her offerings, stop advertising herself as a career coach, and pursue more professional development.
