We came here last week to take their free introductory class for my 5 year old. He's pretty shy at…read morefirst and doesn't like loud noises, but at the end of the 35 minute class, he was begging me to sign him up for more classes. The only "loud noises" are the 4-6 year old kids shouting in unison, "Yes, Sir!" (super adorable). The prices are very reasonable, especially with their promo going on right now that includes the uniform and a month of unlimited classes. Then you can choose from 1 to 3 classes per week at different price tiers. I was really impressed with the space - clean, colorful signage, family friendly, and inviting. We even found the other parents to be friendly as well...they were applauding my son's efforts, knowing it was his first time. There are two rows of chairs along the side of the room where parents can sit and observe the class. Another wall is all mirrors so the kids can easily see the rest of the class and themselves. There's a smaller equipment room off to the side with a water fountain, so no need to bring bottled water. Because it was Friday evening (so the most popular class), there were a handful of young instructors helping out in addition to Master Yu. I loved that. Their ages ranged (from what I could tell) to high school age to college... they were all super supportive and knew their stuff! Sometimes, adults can be intimidating to little kids, so to see younger Tae Kwon Do students helping with the class instantly put my son at ease. The class is well-structured with Tae Kwon Do instruction, but also exercise drills that start with stretching. Sometimes the counting of the moves is done in English, and sometimes in Korean (love it!!). The class ends with all of the kids bowing to their parents and saying, "I love you". There is a theme of teaching the kids respect and courtesy throughout the class, and I think that's what I took away most from this facility. While my son may think he's training to be a Lego Ninjago warrior, I know that he's actually learning valuable life lessons. We're very much looking forward to making Yong In Tae Kwon Do an important part of my son's life!

We have been going to the Miller and 157 location of USA Tae Kwon Do for about three years now and…read moreI cannot say enough great things about them. We have gone to their summer camp which is at the 104th location for two years so we are familiar with both locations. Their dedication and heart for what they do is amazing and they are great role models for their students. They do lots of fun activities as well such as pizza parties and summer camp that my son loves. I am so in awe that my son gets to be taught by a US Olympic Coach and his champion sons. I also love that they allow the children to take the classes with their parents so it becomes a family activity where we are all learning and bonding more together. Our son had one of his birthday parties here and everyone had such a blast! The kids got to try new Tae Kwon Do moves, games, dancing and then they got to see a spectacular demonstration from the instructors. I encourage everyone to try them out! You will love them too!

I really enjoy this homely TKD school located in West Kendall…read more It is a family ran business where the owner of the of the school is a grand master, coached the US olympic team at one time and his many sons contribute to carry the business. There are pics all over the walls that display the Grand Master's history and depth. I believe they also opened another location somewhere on 157th ave and miller area? Either way this school teaches not only the foundations and functionality of TaeKwonDo but also the culture and history. There is even etiquette for children to learn to build character and respect. They offer classes cutely titled "Little Tigers" for ages 4-6yo. Then for kids 7 years of age and older and as well as adult classes. The class that always seems to be packed the most if the Family Class is that family and kids all mixed into one! The dojo is fully functional with many pads, helmets, and anything else you could think of to ensure your kids safety. The teachers and instructors here are very well-trained and really know their stuff! The dojo offers 3 classes on Saturday mornings for those that are unable to attend during the week and is also closed on Sundays.

Off and on for eighteen years, I've been walking through the doors of South Miami Martial Arts…read more Work, life, and even injuries have pulled me away at times--knee surgery in 2015, an ankle break in 2024--but I always find my way back. That alone should tell you something: when a place keeps pulling you in after nearly two decades, it's more than just a martial arts school. At the heart of it all is Master Jeff Wade. A gifted instructor, yes--but more importantly, someone who loves Tae Kwon Do with every fiber of his being, and somehow loves his students even more. He has a way of seeing where you're at--whether you're a kid just starting out, a parent training alongside your child, or someone like me still clawing toward that black belt--and meeting you there with patience, encouragement, and discipline. The facilities? Excellent. The instruction? World-class. But it's the atmosphere that makes it life-changing. Families bond here, kids grow into themselves, and adults discover a kind of strength that sticks with you long after class. My long-term goal is still that black belt. I may be moving slower these days, but my spirit is unshaken--and this place keeps me moving forward. Five stars, no hesitation. If you're looking for a school that will challenge you, support you, and maybe even change your life, South Miami Martial Arts is it.
