If you want your kid to get the lowest education possible then Alder Grove Charter School is for you. We now have evidence of his Algebra grades. Cedar Smith denied my son a proper education. It had nothing to do with her political activism. Lawsuits are definitely coming. I asked for a different teacher and Warner refused. Erica Alston actually cares about her students unlike Cedar Smith.

They did concurrent enrollment and graduated College of the Redwoods before they even graduated High-School. We had the liberty to choose our classes and curriculum with tutors, mentors and support. I cannot say enough about AG and our experience there. I am really sorry to read the review on this site and find it extremely hard to believe. Tim Warner is professional and caring and has never been known to lie or abandon a parent or student. He is totally approachable and reasonable. If you have a concern I recommend you redirect it and try contacting Tim politely. There are so many students that benefit from AG and the review I read on this site is the first negative experience that I have heard of. I also have never heard of a student not being able to get transferred to another teacher, this seems so unfounded. I hope you find the education your child deserves and I am sorry to hear that you felt let down.

Granted it's not an aquarium with a gift shop full of velveteen octopus, stuffed penguins, and fish-shaped keychains. There are no friendly guides or animated mascots, though there was one helpful HSU student on her way to the restricted laboratory area. Yes, this is a facility run by the school that happens to have all sorts of local marine life in a series of tanks that they've been generous enough to make viewable to the public at no charge (photo: http://bit.ly/2olnQfo). There's even a touch pool out back that features mammoth starfish and sea urchins available to rub like a cheap masseur (photo: http://bit.ly/2m9KvKX). No one will tell you to go back there since it's a working research center more than a tourist attraction, a fact I was well aware of since I was the only visitor when I was there. The trickiest part of planning a visit is making sure they're open, so call in advance, check out their website, or if you're already in the area, they're good about taping up any changes in their hours on the front door. It would be a damn shape if you miss this place. RELATED - Taking an adventure in this part of Northern California? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: http://bit.ly/2A1YVjy

Like the only place in town that repairs utilitarian glass work. There are several "glass blowers"…read morein the area but only one (that I could find) who will repair or attempt to repair damaged or broken glass, pyrex pieces. A recent mishap with a friend, using a very expensive piece of glass of mine, left me shaking my head and wondering how in the hell I was gonna get this thing fixed... after a few phone calls to other shops in the area and a call to a friend who is a glass blower / the one recommended over and again was Jason at Glass House. I called to see about getting a quote for the repair, and the gentleman who answered said yes they could most likely fix it and to bring it by. I took my glass project in that afternoon and just as quoted earlier dropped my broken piece off with them for said repair. The price quoted was cheap by comparison to replacement. They are busy and it takes a few weeks to get your project back but I am in line and hope to have my repaired fixture back in a few weeks and will update with a final evaluation of the repair. 4 Stars - the only repair game in town 00718

There is so many great things to focus on - lots of great activities, great academics, great kids, and great families. It is a beautiful environment with plenty of room for the kids to play outside. The teachers are accessible, mostly very friendly, and mostly super willing to help your child. Also, because it is a K-8 there is a great mixture of ages which I think can help the youngers as well as the olders. Of course, there have been moments that didn't go perfectly, but I think that should go without saying as there are bound to be difficulties in any setting. While the academics are vigorous, I wouldn't say that the pace of work is for everyone. Not only the children, but often the families need to be deeply involved in the kid's work to make sure they are staying on pace. It can be challenging, but, again, in our experience, it has been a fantastic place. As a family, we're very grateful to have found JCS.
