I needed to get a couple of things notarized, as well as a few other papers and I had emailed several law offices in Ottawa to inquire. Delaney's Law Firm replied to me within a matter of minutes to answer all of my questions and assure me that I could get what I needed within a matter of days. When you are trying to get something in a rush this is very relieving! When I was leaving, I was given a card and told that if I had any problems with the documents to come right back and get them fixed. Sadly my mother had a serious fall a few months later and I could not get straight answers about the parameters of the POA and thus more bills rapidly racked up. The bungling of the situation led to my sister convincing my mother to go to her (my sister's) lawyer less than 6 mos later, and now I have had no contact with my mother for over 3 years because my sister was able to manipulate a vulnerable person to do what she wanted, not what was in my mother's best interest. A joint POA for both property AND personal care, is NOT always in a family's best interest, and AGB ought to have known this. Do NOT use them if you can help it. My faith in them was totally betrayed.

This comes from a facebook thread of where I repeatedly asked for credentials to prove her licensing and an explanation as to why she was using an alias while replying with her biased opinions over a foreign legal matter. My suggestion would be to flee this counselor with haste if you want a proper representation in the legal system. Claudia Ximena Bordes and her comments on how she views her clients and their creepy nature: "Wow. This is pretty intense. For the record, most of the lawyers I know (family bar, Ottawa) don't use their regular names on Facebook; it would be way too easy for our clients to track us down and start creeping us." The Facebook name that this was under is Jim Bordes. Steer clear of this attorney. She is clearly violating the very Rules of Professional Conduct regarding ethics and should be reviewed by the Law Society of Ottawa. .
