Ottawa family court judges all know her as a problematic menace to trusting families. She allowed me to be bullied out of my rights, all to get her pay cheque. My children and I have had to pay the consequences of her so called expertise for 10 years now. She just changes business names! Do not trust this woman with your families best interests.

I found Diane Valiquette very unprofessional and stopped seeing her after a couple counselling…read moresessions. When I went to Diane Valiquette she was calling herself a Social Worker but when I called the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) I was told she was not a Social Worker and she should not be referring herself to the public as one. Diane Valiquette billed clients using a Social Worker registration number that DID NOT belong to her. My insurance company contacted me and advised me that they and any other Insurance company would no longer payout on invoices sent in by Diane Valiquette. Diane Valiquette can no longer refer to herself as being a Social Worker. (It is against the Law in Ontario to call yourself a Social Worker if you are NOT registered OCSWSSW). Diane Valiquette said she was an associate member of the Ontario Association of Family Mediatiors (OAFM). When I called I was told she was not a member in good standing and should not be refering herself to the public as being an associate member of the OAFM. DIane Valiquette no longer can refer to the public she is a member of the OAFM. Diane Valiquette holds no degrees nor does she belong to any professional body in the province of Ontario. As it stands in Ontario ANYONE can call themselves a counselor and or mediator. It is imperative for a person seeking out such help to research online and make phone calls to the professional associations they are looking to get help from. If you do not seek out a professional you may find the counselor/mediator you hire makes up their own rules and methods of treatment and or advice. They can do this because they have no professional body to be accountable to. If poor counselling or errors in mediation are made... you are on your own. When you hire a professional you have something to fall back on if things go wrong. In my opinion DO NOT HIRE a non professional period!!! Don't make the mistake I did... do your research first....save yourself a lot of headache, time and money!!! If a professional made these mistakes...they would be held accountable!!

Ottawa West Family Law - Fan MacKenzie

I am writing this review to show how unethical Mrs. Fan MacKenzie is…read more Mrs MacKenzie ethics are questioned twice as lawyer and psychologist (B.Sc. in Psychology). She represents my ex-husband in the divorce process. As soon as me and my ex-husband we are close to reaching a settlement Mrs MacKenzie sends emails about spousal support, I have emails and texts from my ex-husband where he makes it clear that he is not looking for spousal support. My ex-husband wrote (August 28): "We can put aside the issue of spousal support". Mrs Fan MacKenzie responded: "Please disregard the earlier email from my client as he inadvertently copied you. To be clear, Mr. X has not waived his rights to spousal support." Who cares about what the client wants. Mrs. MacKenzie wants more billing hours, especially at the end of the month. My ex-husband had to call her to stop sending emails about spousal support. He also called me and apologized for the behaviour of his lawyer (our daughter was a witness to both calls). Mrs MacKenzie repeats these emails every few months, we are further away from the solution than 9 months ago. She wrote again April 26, 2021: "On a without prejudice basis, Mr. X has stated that he is willing to resolve spousal support on a much lower basis than his entitlement but as the property was not resolved, we are preparing for court." Mrs Mackenzie sent out many e-mails that several documents were not attached. My ex husband pointed out that it would be easier and cheaper to mention which documents were not included. We are poor by a thousand dollars and our mental health is at stake. I have problems with my daily activities. Divorce is very emotional, all your plans and life collapse in ruins. We pay for the lawyer to help us solve our problems and not start a fire for her own benefit. We are hurt enough already, we are both over 60 years old. My ex-husband is retired I am on and off on medical leave.
