So I was very cautious about buying from Amato. I did all my research online, and found the model I was looking for and ready to buy at the advertised price. I took the day off work and went to Amato Hyundai of Glendale, expecting the worst and prepared for a terrible experience. I was ready to walk out at any time, angry and without a new car. I'm shocked my experience was so positive. No lies. No sales pressure tactics. No one needed to do the test drive with me. I would have preferred more for my trade in, but their offer was understandable, even if less than I wanted. So I really have nothing to complain about. I would buy from them again, and I would send my family and friends there as well. This experience was all positive, and no negative at all.

That's when the real trouble started... *My car was not the same after the recall (it's only a few years old and I don't abuse it). *Brought my car in, they said they fixed it, and it really wasn't fixed. *I had to pay for more diagnostics on something THEY did to my car. *I had to chase after coverage with the extended warranty company AND Hyundai corporate. *I was lied to about the distance they test drove it after the repair (1 mile versus the claimed "30 miles". Just look at the receipt for the in/out mileage, duh.). *At my last appointment checkout, nothing was mentioned about the huge crack across half my windshield. Like I'm not going to notice? The lack of accountability is infuriating. *They begrudgingly replaced the windshield, stating that they would have to check the cameras first to see if there was a pre-existing crack. Shouldn't they have done that once it happened? Again, duh. Hyundai Corporate made me take my car back to this dealership to fix what was broken after the recall. If I had surgery and the surgeon botched my procedure, should I go back to him/her? THE ANSWER IS NOOOOOOOO!!! Experiences like this proliferate the idea that you should never trust a dealership, which is unfortunate for the good guys. Save yourself the headache and go to Kenosha.

My first contact was with Kreyshia, who I believe handles Internet sales. I gave her the exact specifications I was looking for: model, options, color and other features. She quickly identified a vehicle that matched what I wanted. From there, the process involved Kreyshia, Devon in Finance and Insurance, and General Manager Chad. All three were exceptionally professional, courteous, patient and informative. What impressed me most was their genuine effort to earn my business. They worked with me to meet all of my financial requirements, including the final purchase price, my trade-in value, financing and extended warranty. The entire negotiation process felt almost effortless because of how professionally everything was handled. Peyton was the salesman who ultimately finalized the transaction and delivered the vehicle to me. He then spent more than an hour and a half sitting with me in my new Explorer, patiently explaining its many electronic features and helping me get everything set up, including Apple CarPlay, the FordPass app and account, and numerous vehicle settings. They lie. They claimed they fixed the battery charging issue, but the issue remains. As far as I can tell they didn't really fix anything related to why I brought it in. I don't necessarily regret coming here but I also would not recommend it. When I walked in, the store looked sad and tired. The woman behind the counter said, "Can I help you?" without even looking in my general direction that I honestly didn't think she could possibly be talking to me. Sadly, she was. Even sadder, she had a hard time finding my online order, despite it being directly behind her on the shelf with a piece of paper that had my name on it. A guy came and took over and reluctantly installed the battery. Meanwhile another customer kept coming over and asking him questions and he kept stopping to answer them. He also threw in some misogynistic comments about women calling him while he worked...
