The food here was DELICIOUS! Freshly prepared in front of us, the pasta was full of flavor. The staff are all wearing gloves and there are covid plastic barriers between tables to protect customers. I would definitely eat here again read more

So we arrived in Konstanz one evening and had no idea which place to have dinner in. A quick Yelp…read moresearch revealed Don Alfredo as a 5 stars Italian restaurant, worth checking out. We arrived there around 8.30 pm on a Friday evening and found the place to be very cozy and intimate, located in some sort of underground woody room. However, they had no free seats. The nice waitress told us they might get some free seats in half an hour, so we might just come back then. We left, thinking it will be for sure that we'll come across something at least as nice and we won't need to come back. We didn't. After half an hour we were there again, waiting to be seated. However, there were still no free seats and we had to cluster at a two people table all four of us and wait for another seat to get free. The people there were having lots of fun and the atmosphere seemed to be purely italian (probably that's as good as it gets for an Italian restaurant in Germany). Some of the customers, as well as the staff, were Italian, which is always a very good sign. We ended up waiting for another 20 minutes around, but it was well worth. I had the best pizza in my life there (pizza Parma). My boyfriend had veal steak with risotto (very good) and my other friends had Spinach pizza and pasta with sea food. Portions were huge, so we took the left overs with us. Oh, the tomato soup I had as a starter was one of the best I ever had.. and it only costed 4 euros :) Same is valid for the Tiramisu as a desert.. simply delicious. Add a bottle of wine to this meal of four and the bill was 95 euros. Used with Swiss prices, we found this to be extremely cheap, as well as the quality / price ratio to be super high. It's worth to say that the staff was always a bit confused. I assume they didn't speak German so well and English much less.. they forgot to add some extra toppings to our pizzas and often got parts of the order messed up (2 Espressos instead of one, different kind of wine than what we asked for etc.). However, our food and wine were so delicious that it was no point complaining.. they made us very happy, hence a well deserved 5 stars from me for this one!

The 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) arrived as they opened, with no reservations and a baby stroller. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated at a large table. We had plenty of room for the many dishes we sampled. Our server seems to be the owner. He was funny and helpful with menu items and made our meal enjoyable and memorable. He easily switched between German and English to accommodate everyone. The Insalata Mista was fresh and nicely made. The saffron risotto with onion was delicious. Two of us ordered the ricotta and spinach ravioli with sage butter and were very pleased. Fresh and delicate, we ate every bite. Highly recommend.

I would have liked to have had their pasta special - TAGLIOLINI NERI DELIZIA which was "Black tagliatelle, saffron cream sauce, shrimp, zucchini, onions, garlic oil, pepper, parsley" - but conceded to the pizza with ham, mushrooms and artichoke. My vegan friend requested some pasta and received it, but I'm not sure it was what he hoped for. We were surprised at the sheer size of the pizzas. They literally flipped over the sides of the small plates. This proved odd and a bit difficult to cut, but it tasted good enough and we took some back to our hotel with us. I also enjoyed a Belgian hot chocolate with a shot of amaretto which was delicious. My coworkers returned there a second time, with a larger group, but I did not so I can't report on their visit. Service was a little slower than we hoped but as noted it was nearly closing time. A 3.8 rounds to 4.

Pizza flopped over the edge of the plate by a wide margin. Ham, with mushrooms and artichokes. It was good.

She worked at Il Boccone during the summer of 2017 and was happy to be back and take a visitor with her! I had the Pizza Miseria e Nobiltà (pizza with tuna fish, speck, egg, and onion). My host had recommended this pizza to me, and while the combination of the ingredients sounded great, the final product was just mediocre. The thin crust wasn't what I expected from an Italian restaurant (it was a bit soggy), and the pizza wasn't particularly hot when it was brought out to me. Moreover, my food was brought out about 5 minutes after my host's entree was brought out to her. I didn't try any appetizers or desserts at Il Boccone, but maybe they would have been better than the pizza. All in all, while the restaurant itself is a nice space with a lively ambiance, I wasn't impressed with Il Boccone and feel that Konstanz has much better places to offer.
