Right now it's Covid-19 time so we haven't moved on to BJJ and hard core Muay Thai, but as soon as this virus dies I'm looking forward to learning all of it. They told me at the front desk that after Covid their trainers went to other places & they're starting new classes again soon. Fine, but Covid was in 2020. It's literally 4yrs later. Idk the way the front desk made it seem is like, they've been telling that story for a while now. It is actually "false advertisement" & why are we paying a high monthly fee for amenities that you don't even have? *In response to your message Rosa. LHF website shows a ton of classes that you don't have- which is false advertisement. Also, NO I did not have a consultation when joining, none of the 16yr olds you have at the front desk bothered to tell me anything they were too busy on tik tok & NO it's been 3 weeks and none of your trainers called for a free workout with them, I probably would have joined up for some 1 on 1 training but I'm over it now. Also, more than half of your treadmills are broke. Just an FYI.

He cares a lot about the students, and after class gave me pointers on how to work out and be more relaxed... above and beyond the scope of duty. The BJJ instructors were quite friendly as well. They throw you into the deep end here for BJJ... everyone learns the same drills, so there's no "easy different drill". Which can be both a good thing (you learn with rest of class, and you get forced to catch up) or bad thing (you might not need such a specialist technique) depending on your opinion. Value: 5/5 They have a great deal on Groupon, but I think they have a great welcome offer as well. They didn't try to hard-sell you an upgrade when you sign up, and didn't even need a credit card # when I used my groupon. Environment: 4.5/5 Community seems quite friendly. People were willing to help you out, and weren't looking to hurt you. What more could you ask for? Instruction: 5/5 The Monday night Muay Thai instructor is the best martial arts instructor I've seen in NYC. Admin: 5/5 See value section. They didn't try to hard sell and the owner seems quite interested in what's going on in his gym.

I get that they're going for a very bro coded boxing gym vibe, but the locker rooms in this place were just dirty. Gross stuff in the corners in the bathroom, and the toilet itself looked like it hadn't been cleaned or wiped down in some time. The workout itself was challenging but also had a very small portion of actual boxing for being a boxing gym/class. About 75% of the class was running and conditioning. There weren't enough boxing bags for everyone to have their own, so we switched off with a partner who did other body weight exercises while we boxed. The boxing combinations weren't very complex. The instructor was hard to understand. If this was the only workout available at the time slot I was looking to work out at that day I'd take it, but this was not a great experience for me. That said, if you love running indoors in a circle and don't mind a little bathroom grime this might be your new favorite place.

Neither of us had any experience with Muay Thai before but we were up for the physical and mental challenge of learning something new. They do offer a trial class for you to go and see if you like the atmosphere and the sport itself. I would highly recommend doing a few private lessons to really master some basics that you can then implement in the class. That's what we did, we did private lessons weekly for close to 3 months before enrolling in the classes themselves. Im glad that we did that as I felt much more knowledgeable and comfortable going into class and knowing what I needed to work on to improve. The people that work there are wonderful and the students are great too! Everyone is very inviting and friendly which I think is important for a new person stepping into an atmosphere, that from the outside, might look intimidating. If you're considering a martial art to try Muay Thai is fun and an intense workout! But they do also offer BJJ, I do not practice this so cannot personally touch on it, but I have friends who do those classes and they love them! All in all, it's a great facility with amazing people making it a fun experience, intense training session, all for an affordable price. You're missing out if you don't at least look into Hinds!

I didn't know how to react at the moment. Also, the jui-jitsu trainer named Kyle is just absolute trash, does not know how to talk to people and got very mad at me and started having a personal vendetta towards me cause I didn't give him a handshake and I recently found he actually went to prison. When I DMed the hinds combat admin about this they didn't do anything about it. I went to their other place in Midtown and the owner Sean actually kicked me out for calling out the BS. I asked for my money back and he refused, it escalated to him getting in my face where I pushed him back and one of the other trainers named Dom came out of nowhere and sucker punched me. I reported him to the police and he left in handcuffs. Sean I think showed how trash and ignorant he is along with the rest of the place. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone who wants quality training

I utilized the gym today, 6:30pm to 7:30 pm and although there were other people exercising, there was still plenty of space for everyone. Plenty of machines and free weights to use. Plenty of lockers and ample showers in the locker rooms. The restroom facilities are right outside of the gym in the hallways. WiFi is provided if you require the internet to stream music for your workout. I would suggest to bring your own towel. Paper towels with spray disinfectant were available at the front desk.
