Not only physically they have improved significantly but academically too. Sensei Saro is top notch judo professional who treats everyone with respect, instills a sense of confidence, guiding my kids to challenge themselves, and to overcome their fears also to believe that nothing is impossible if you are dedicated, to pursue your dreams of being a good judo player and further more... a champion. Before starting judo one of my teenage son was at the lowest he can be mentally, behavioral wise and low school performance. Before it was too late, we spoke to Sensei Saro and we the parents and him came to a consensus that he will start judo. No exaggeration at all.... It's sort of hidden away along Northern Blvd, but definitely close enough to main st to commute to. This is the first school I've been to that actually enables you to apply what you learned in action. During class there is legit hand-to-hand combat. I was awkward about it at first, but slowly got the hang of it. If you're not careful you might break a finger #js. Not only will you use your body, but also your brain. My teacher is David and he teaches M & W from 7:00-10:00PM. He teaches not only kung fu, but also explains the science and physics behind a movement. I took lessons here for a short while but stopped going because the time is a bit too late for me. However, I am planning on going back in the future. The students here, especially the black belts, are friendly and willing to help if you're confused. If you're looking to learn self-defense, then def check out Wu Tang.

It's a real "no frills" school with hardly any students enrolled compared to other schools. The belt testings occur on a Saturday for literally 4+ hours in sweltering heat during the warmer months because they have no air conditioning! The kids are required to sit in their long sleeved uniforms while each level gets tested from black belts to white belts. This is why it takes 4+ hours. Totally ridiculous and unprofessional. The master of the school who seems to be the sales manager/instructor is Master Oh. He lied to parents and said all students would be learning how to count in Korean, etc. This never happened for over three years that my son was in the school, so he basically lied to us. I've seen him ignore parents or be very aloof when they ask questions. Either he is miserable teaching children or they don't pay him enough. Find a new profession buddy if the work is getting to you. The owner is even worse. She is a Korean lady who is very standoffish and unfriendly. My son said hello to her and she looked away. I don't know how these people are running this business with such bad attitudes! This is why the school doesn't have a lot of students because parents take their business elsewhere. We visited on a Tuesday morning around 10am and most of the machines on the lower level already had someone waiting. I saw a lot of people tapping others to ask how many more sets they were going to do. We are gym hopping to find the best gym for us and we did not sign up. I can only imagine how crowded it would be after 5pm or on a weekend. I also don't want to wait around for machines or have people constantly ask if we are done yet. Also, there's a really cool stretch zone underneath the stairs. We couldn't try it out because someone was on it for over an hour. But looks good!
