I scheduled my haircut 45 minutes before my appointment. I went in and had the pleasure of having Sarah Mae cut my VERY long hair. I was anxious and sweating on the way to Ulta. I walked in & she saw me 10 minutes before my appointment She recommended a deep conditioning treatment (MY HAIR FEEL GREAT. GET IT) and double checked with me on what I wanted. Before she made the cut (6 + inches) she showed me and confirmed I was okay with the amount being cut off. I was anxious while in the chair but once she turned me around it was REALLY HARD FOR ME TO NOT SMILE. She wasn't even finished and I had to tell her thank you. I am never allowing anyone but her to touch my hair. She's amazing! Ask for Sarah Mae when you're needing a change of style. Long hair girls have a difficult time getting their hair cut. I've had this issue since I was a very small child. Sarah Mae understood this and made sure I was comfortable with what was happening. I absolutely love her! read more

I am a bit of a fan of the Ulta concept, just not this specific store. I only come here to get my Joe Grooming Paste for my hair, but I shop here for friends that are out of the country. That usually involves me running around the store with a printed list of goodies. The girls that work here are so RUDE and not helpful at all. They act like they don't want to be bothered or to assist. I mean isn't helping people their jobs? If you know what you want and where it is located, have fun going here. I will NEVER in life do business with Ulta again! I ordered a package last Tuesday. Paid $20 for "premium" shipping. Giving me a next day delivery date when I ordered. Sunday, 4 days later, my package is marked "delivered," but I didn't have it. Today, a week later, I still don't have my package, and customer service says there's basically nothing further they can do. So I'm out $80, and no products! In what world is that acceptable??? And they just keep saying "sorry." I know you're sorry! Sorry as heyell to take someone's money and leave them with No products and give a fake apology to attempt and smooth it over! I have never!!!!! I've shopped here going on 20 years now! But never again! I don't feel comfortable spending my money and there's no guarantee I will get my order! I unfortunately cannot remember your name but I think you were an assistant of some sort. When customer service had removed points for no reason on a random day you figured out how to match my missing points. Thank you I made sure when I called customer service to tell them how the ball was dropped for a platinum member, I also told them I was impressed by you and what you did. I shop at this Ulta often because it is so close to my home, job, and where I do a lot of my shopping. The customer service is terrible thiugI'm in hospitality so I'm very observant and friendly because face it, we're all consumers. Today when I walked in at 7:45 nobody greeted me until I said, "Hello" to a girl nearby I saw tidying up a perfume station. Three items I wanted to buy today were out of stock. I know it happens, but it's not the first time they've been out of some of my favorites. I feel like this happens often at this location. And no one ever offered me any help as I matched my own Born This Way foundation by Too Faced (amazing product btw). I saw two workers just chatting standing around near the Clinique station which was very close to me and almost kinda awkward because they didn't say anything so I felt like I was just being watched/judged. And when I was ready to check out nobody was at the front which was kind of annoying because I did stand there for maybe 2-3 minutes honestly. I will continue to shop here because it's my most convenient location, but I'm rather disappointed with their staff. read more

The women here have a very elitist attitude and I've yet to understand why. Edie actually gave me a dirty look when I asked about makeup! That's your job, not mine. Horrible customer service and it keeps getting worse. I don't know why someone from corporate has not stepped in and done anything. On a Saturday afternoon the checkout line was about 30 people with only two registers open even though there were many more employees walking around the store. Not the biggest deal, I'm a patient person, but it was the woman at the register that takes the bad review. She scanned my lipstick and says "let me get you a rewards card", and I said "No, thanks I don't need one". I'm not super into makeup, and I go here once in a blue moon. She would not take no for an answer, and puts this card and papers into the bag. Then we go back and forth about this rewards card with her telling me I will be throwing money away. I tell her again that I don't want the card, I won't use it, and I don't want to carry it in my wallet. She says "You don't have to, we can look it up by your phone number!". Omg. I was nice but firm and said again "I *really* don't want the card." She was clearly mad that I would not let her give me this card (why???????) and when I gave her a coupon for my purchase she says without explanation "Oh, you can't use that." The terms on the coupon did not exclude the brand of lipstick I was purchasing, but I did not care to argue or give this store my money. I left. read more

Jerks! I bought mom a $100+ Chi blow dryer from this location, and low and behold three months later it goes out. I called to inquire about my recourse and the manager informed me that the return policy was only 2 months. I guess a rule is a rule, but she seemed to have a bit of an attitude about it. Literally, could not have had a worse experience in a retail makeup store. Not sure what was more egerious, the fact that we were trying to find someone to help us, despite the fact that we came across 4 idle employees or was it the fact that we specifically asked for help and received none. We came with the intention of buying a substantial amount of makeup, but after spending 30 minutes dazed and confused, we just left. I've been coming to this Ulta since I've lived in Hamburg. I've always had pretty good experiences but today made me want to always go to the Ulta Salon. I had a extremely bad experience at Carringtons Friday, my hair was butchered by someone there. So from Friday till Wednesday I've wore hats and slicked my hair back and have avoided looking at myself in the mirror because it's so bad. I was needing help so I called the salon to see if maybe they could fit me in sometime this week. I spoke with Damon and he told me to come in that day. I arrived at my appointment, nervous, but he was so friendly. He looked at my hair and told me what had happened, basically she didn't care and just chopped away. I showed him a picture of what I originally wanted. He told me that he can get it close with what hair she left on my head. He took his time and I really appreciated everything. My hair looks 1000 times better. He made me feel beautiful again after feeling ugly for days. I'm forever thankful for him fixing it. I'm excited to see what my hair looks like when it grows out and we can do the cut I wanted originally. Thank you Damon! You're the best! read more

Terrible customer service can really mess up your mood. I'm visiting Lexington as a potential spot to move to for my husbands job; its between here and Indy. I wanted to check out some of my fave spots so I stopped here. I went into ULTA at 1:50. After about 10-15 minutes, I noticed that NO ONE assisted me. I was killing time anyway, so I continued to wander around just to see how much longer it would take. I really went in to look for full coverage foundation even though MAC was already on my mind. I just wanted to see other options so this was definitely a selling opportunity. In other words, I was ready to spend money. I was going between the same 2 aisles trying out Smash Box and UD, and Tarte on myself. There were no Kleenex to wipe off foundation or anything, no assistance, nothing. I even had a few associates reach around or grab things nearby, but they acknowledged my presence. Just ridiculous! Anyway, by 2:35 a woman with TERRIBLE contouring finally spoke ONLY because when another woman walked in, she greeted her and I turned and looked her in her face and in shock. Really?!?!?! She took the liberty to walk around in a different direction and came back to speak. What kind of business is ULTA running? Like seriously?!?!? I will GLADLY take my business to Sephora and suggest everyone else do the same. I'm still in the parking lot as I type this. I couldn't leave without making sure it was known. They probably don't care, and that's fine, but to those who would consider this location keep driving. read more

Also the same kind of store where all the employees stare at you when you walk in but don't say we are closing in 10 minutes. Thanks for nothing. I am only giving one star because I have to or else I would have gave them zero. I was going to make about a $300 dollar purchase, but had to put everything down because of the rude customer service. I walked up and asked the woman at the counter if I could get my foundation matched, and she said well I can't leave the counter and there is someone by the makeup (there was no one around). So I sat waiting around, and I guess they didn't notice that someone I was with was checking out and the workers started talking about the people I was with and also me. The woman at the counter was telling her co worker that we needed something and the co worker said well I was by the makeup so they could have asked me. (they were both talking in a rude tone and the woman was not by the makeup she was all the way in the back just standing there.) So this location has horrible costumer service. If you see some one looking around and sitting then you should go and ask if they need help. It's YOUR JOB To help customers with makeup. If it's such a hassle to help customers with makeup then DON'T WORK AT A MAKEUP STORE!!! read more

This location is excellent, especially the salon. I don't easily trust people with my hair after several bad cuts when I was younger, so when I moved to KY from NY, I was actually driving all the way up to NY for a haircut! I decided to give Ulta a try after a lot of going back and forth and I'm so glad that I did. I've had 3 of the girls there work on my hair (Sheena, Chelsea, and Emily) and all did an excellent job! I got my hair dyed there yesterday and Sheena went through the cost of all of my options with me and got me to a color I'm really happy with. I'll keep going there as long as I'm in KY! :) read more

I am a long term customer at ULTA; two months ago I took an appointment with" Brandall" at the Pavilion for hair color and highlight which she did. Last month I made another appointment for my hair. She advised me to do highlight again and color. Of course, I am not the expert in hair, and I trusted her; therefore, I agreed with her suggestion. She highlighted and colored my hair. My hair color turned VERY blond which I didn't like at all. She toned the color and left it for 20 minutes because she had another customer and was working on her hair at the same time. It turned out that my hair was dark because it left for a long time. Then they asked me to pay for the toner I refused because it was the hairdresser mistakes they called the manager and she waived the payment. I had a bad experience with "Brandall" she ruined my hair and ripped off. Last week I went to buy face cream because I love ULTA product, I asked for a sample. One of the employees replied in a rude way we don't give samples. I left and went to the Nicholasville they welcomed me and gave me free sample I will go back and buy it from them because I love ULTA products. The pavilion way employees didn't have good customer service will never go and buy any product from them. I can tell you, I will not be back to this place and will not recommend it to anyone I know. It was a horrible experience and a huge waste of money. read more
