I bank with Ulster Bank primarily because of the convenience that their Laser/Visa card offers. None of the other debit cards in Ireland have the Visa logo and therefore are not as convenient for me when I travel abroad.
The George's Quay branch is a small little branch located amongst the big Ulster Bank Towers. It's easy to find and the hours of operation are as prohibitive as every bank in Ireland.
One word of advice, if you are changing money it is far better to go to the College Green branch, as they would have more currencies available (in quantity and option). Also, the College Green branch would be better familiar with the procedure. The three times I've tried to buy currencies at the GQ branch, prior to a trip, has always been met with a lot of unnecessary hassle. read more
