On her page, it says she open until "late PM" which is a lie. When I was working at crush, I had to get my son by 5:30pm or I'd be charged extra. She's also trying to double dip with wanting "cash up front" and then also get paid through NCO or CalWorks. She's a great teacher and I kind of respect her but she's screwed me over for my summer classes and my son out of his friends and his favorite daycare.

I think they have a pretty good nursing program here, but I'm not really sure. I don't really know what the heck people do here because I haven't attended, but the campus sure is pretty! I meant nature, but given the fact this is Mendo County, I'm sure there's probably plenty of other HERBS growing around the campus as well :D

Terrible. Sorry excuse for a college or a even a collective as a whole. There is zero organization;…read morenobody who works here so much as attempts to excel at their job- they simply do the bare minimum. They will take any and every opportunity to cut corners, transfer you to someone else if they can, and heaven forbid you ever attempt to acquire documentation of any sort from them whilst half their staff are perpetually on leave. Calling themselves a college is essentially the equivalent of a three-star dentist calling themselves a world-renowned neuroscientist. In addition, hardly any of the staff are crosstrained to be able to perform duties while others are on leave; for example, there is only one person in the entire faculty who is capable of sending out copies of 1098-T forms. If she is on leave, which she often is for unspecified reasons and up to a week at a time, it is impossible to obtain a copy of your tax information. When contacting the staff in hopes to find a substitute, I was met with simple rudeness and being told to wait out the entire week. No self-respecting college would deny anyone the information they have rights to simply because they didn't bother to assign more than one person to grant people access to said information. And that, my friend, is just the problem; They do not respect themselves or their position. Regardless of what the other reviews say, you will regret getting mixed up with them. Wholeheartedly. If you are considering community college before university in order to save on two years' budget, the amount of stress and extra work created by involving yourself with this college outweighs the cost of paying for four years of university. Keep that in mind before you make the wrong choice.

Not your typical survival course!…read more I can't say enough about the instructors! They're funny, curious, humble, sensitive, and incredibly knowledgable. There's no judgment, no machismo, no big egos. This is a truly inclusive learning environment that makes me feel safe and respected. By now, I've taken several classes at B.O.W.S. and, with each one, I've been able to walk away with new tools- both, physical tools (bowdrill kit, handmade knife, stone tools), and mental. I have a deeper awareness of my surroundings, I have a much stronger connection to the earth and its resources, I have more confidence being alone in the wilderness. And, I always learn way more than what's provided in the course descriptions. I recommend this school to everyone, especially if you are yearning for a new way of looking at the world and your place in it.

When I asked that they refund the "processing fee" as well, I got this response from the owner: "The processing fee comes from "Active Camps and Classes", the third party registration platform we use. It's essentially a credit card processing fee. Unfortunately, we have no control over refunding processing fees. I'd like to be able to take care of that for you, but we are unable to make that request on your behalf. It requires sensitive banking or credit card information that we do not have and wouldn't legally be able to provide. I believe you can request a refund by contacting "Active Network".
