Awesome folks. Helpful like you would not believe, even long distance. I needed a case for my pretty new Ohana sopranissimo ukulele, and they had it (on sale, too!) and got it to me within the week. I really can't say enough good about them. I called them a couple times in regard to shipment issues (not UKE REPUBLIC's fault, but UPS'), and Mike was cheerful, helpful, and simply a joy to speak with, putting any concerns I might have been having at ease. That's something very unusual these days. Thank you, Mike and Uke Republic, for going above and beyond. You've ensured that I will most certainly do business with you again. read more

Just rec'd my beautiful uke from MIke at Uke Republic. The service was fast, excellent, personable and the set up was the absolute best I've ever had. Thank you Uke Republic. I was a little gun shy with my order because I'd been so disappointed with a few other dealers and vowed to never order through the mail again. In fact, as soon as I placed my order I wanted to cancel within a few days. The process had already started and I was unable to cancel. But, Im glad I initiated the cancellation too late. Love my uke. Well deserved 5 stars. read more

My husband saw great reviews about this store online, so we took the hour drive and it didn't disappoint. The salesman was very helpful and friendly. I now have a ukulele that sounds amazing! read more

Went there just over a year ago and had a great experience trying out a number of different ukuleles. Mike and his staff were wonderful. I actually left with banjolele, Ubass, and a baritone Uke. Since then I've purchased additional accessories and a tenor Uke! And on Facebook Mike typically will do a Happy Friday live presentation with various uses, new Uke, new products, etc. Just wish it weren't 6+ hours from where I live. read more

Received my order in a reasonable timeframe, with good quality products and prices. However, they were completely unresponsive to emails and voice messages which was disappointing since I had some questions that never got answered despite spending several hundred dollars with them. read more

Mike, the owner runs a great shop with every accessory you ever need for your ukulele. A huge selection of ukuleles adorns the walls of this complete ukulele store. Everything is merchandised well with nice displays throughout. His hospitality was great and he was very knowledgeable about his entire inventory as well as the stories behind many of the uke manufactures and luthiers such as Loprinzi. He carries some great limited edition ukes from Ohana as well as a lot from Kala, Pono, and KoAloha to name a few. Definitely check out the shop if you are in the Atlanta area. It's a short 30 minute drive and well worth the time. Where else can you get your hands on 100 ukes to play in one afternoon? Thanks for a great afternoon Mike! read more

Mike McClean is a huge asset to Uke Republic out of Austell, GA, 30206 (770)235-6606. Courteous, conscience, competent, amazing demeanor & genuinely a consummate professional. He was able to assist with my purchase of an Ukulele expeditiously that met all my needs; responding to all my questions & genuinely patient. I would sincerely appreciate that UKE Republic communicate my my comments to Mike and I congratulate you on the high-quality attention that was provided in addition to making me feel special. This was a "rare" & memorable experience. PTL for Uke Republic!!! Eduardo B. read more

I came here with my friend's ukulele. She wasn't sure if the bridge was okay (immense knowledge of ukulele's on my part, I know), and because she has a normal 9-5 I said I could go for her to get it checked out. The guy who I think is the owner was so nice! It turned out nothing was wrong with her ukulele, and he didn't charge anything for checking it out. Beyond that, the store was really cool and had an amazing selection. If I ever have any reason to come here again I'll jump on it. read more

I bought my first ukulele yesterday! After looking at all the local shops I decided to go to UKE Republic for a broader sampling of choices (an hour's drive away from me). It was a wonderful experience! Mike was so helpful. He listened to what I was interested in, helped me determine the size I needed/wanted, and helped me stay within my budget! There is something there for everyone! He must have played 20 different ukuleles for me - since I'm still too new at this to get a good sound sampling. He was super patient and got me the things I needed. He was not pushy in selling me things I didn't need but pointed out things I might want to consider for later. Great experience! UKE Republic is the best!! read more

Look no further. This is the place. EPIC Ukelele store. Do not go to the place that has "guitar" in their name. UKE Republic is the best. Mike and his crew treat you like a rock star from the minute you walk in. The showroom is wonderful and the service is tailored to each customer. It is now the only place I look for Ukes. It takes me an hour to get across town to Austell but it is worth every minute you spend in Atlanta traffic once you get there. I was blown away with my first visit. I was looking for a tenor Uke because I wanted something bigger for my large hands. Mike really listened and ended up suggesting a baritone Uke strung as a tenor. PERFECT! Its exactly what I needed and would never have thought of --being a new player. As a result my friends and family noticed a huge difference in my playing within a week. They were amazed my skill level went up so fast. Seriously if you're looking for a Ukelele then this is the only store you need to go to. read more

My husband gave me a ukulele for my birthday and I was lucky to be taken to Uke Republic to pick it out. I did some research online to learn about the different sizes, shapes, and wood species, but was otherwise unfamiliar with ukuleles. I had such a fun and educational experience at Uke Republic! I was able to see and play every type and brand that I'd read about from plastic to exotic woods. Mike was generous sharing his knowledge and demonstrating the differences between the instruments. He even helped me narrow down my selection by playing the same song on three ukuleles for a "blind sound test." I never felt pressured--it was like shopping with a friend (who knows everything about ukuleles). I'm now the proud owner of a sweet mango ukulele in the pineapple shape. I feel like it's the perfect one for me; it makes me so happy to play even the simplest melodies in my beginner's lesson book. My husband was so intrigued that he got a durable waterproof ukulele so he could give it a try. I'm looking forward to playing along with some of the local groups of ukulele players. If you're considering learning to play the ukulele Mike at Uke Republic can get you started the right way! read more

Electric ukuleles are on worldwide backorder. I found a really nice Flight electric uke at Uke Republic. Ordered it on a weekend and received it by Tuesday. It was perfectly set up and ready to to (which can be a problem for electric uses). They are great and I will use them again. read more

Friendly service and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this company as they have a great selection and offering opportunities for learning and networking in the uke community. read more

Listen up!! Y'all need to RUN, don't walk, to this ukulele store! Like many people, I picked up the ukulele as a quarantine hobby a few months ago. Well, my cheapo amazon uke (basically a toy) was starting to show how terrible it was once I actually figured out how to play it, and I decided I needed an upgrade. Imagine my surprise when I discovered there is an entire UKULELE STORE AND SHOWROOM located in Atlanta?! Y'all, this is rare. Before doing research, I was like, okay every big city has a ukulele store, I guess? WRONG!! This is the #3 place in America to buy a uke, according to some article I found on Google! People order instruments from Uke Republic all over the world! It's seriously such a gem. The owner, Mike, was incredibly friendly and helpful, and he was super kind even though I am embarrassingly amateur in my ukulele knowledge. I was able to pick up an absolutely beautiful concert ukulele that sounds a million times better than my old one. If you or anyone you know has any interest in the ukulele, check this spot out ASAP! Also, for COVID, you can call to make an appointment, and the owner wore a mask. Absolutely great experience! Can't believe this spot doesn't have more reviews. read more

I placed an order online, 3 weeks ago. I've not received any updates despite two emails, via their site, and a voice message. My credit card has been charged for an item I've not received or at least had communication. My next step is to dispute the charge with my credit card company. It's disappointing! read more

You always know how good a business is when things go wrong i.e. like for example when you maybe have a bump in your car you only then realise how good, efficient and able your insurance company actually are. It's the same sort of concept when buy an item online and there's a problem. I purchased an expensive Ukulele from Ukurepublic it took almost one month to receive it, I sent several emails chasing my item to Ukurepublic and ultimately asked for a discount of the $80 delivery charge that I considered to be a premium charge I deemed it necessary because all I could see thru the USPS Priority app that it was stuck in transit at various airports for days on end. The delivery cost reduction I asked for was refused by Ukurepublic and was informed they regularly ship items to the UK with no issues and blamed on the current global pandemic, I accepted the response. Shockingly I received correspondence for the distribution company requesting a further payment of just over $110 for import tax before they'd deliver it (it felt as if I was being blackmailed). As anyone can imagine I found very disconcerting, I email the owner Mike McQueen again several times before receiving a response he outlining his terms and conditions, I pointed out in my reply that it's probably exceptional for customers to actually read his T&C's before purchase, his response was if I cancelled I'd have pay for all delivery charges each way. However I decided to pay the additional charge and take delivery. I didn't receive any further communication for last email from the company. Overall I found Mike McQueen attitude inexcusable, after spending so much money, I never receive any apology for being misled he must have been aware on the additional payment but failed to advise me. All in all I can only summarize that Ukurepublic give me the worse buying experience I've ever received and I can only advice is to look elsewhere. read more

I purchased a tenor Flight Diana with soundwave several months ago from this dealer and this was my first bad experience from over a dozen ukuleles I have bought online. Take note of the 5 day return policy where you also pay for shipping both ways. The uke was defective with zero relief and action too low so that it buzzed. Tried shimming the saddle but that was not working. I thought maybe he had over sanded the saddle and maybe replaced with some other saddle. Contacted Fight and they sent me a replacement saddle. I was the same. So here I was with a uke I'd paid over $400 for and needing repair. I've had to get another saddle made for it and having to live with a flat finger board. I asked him to buy it back from me at what ever he cared to offer. Never got back to me. I could tell the craftsmanship was good on this ukulele but this particular one was defective. Would not buy from Uke Republic again and probably not a Flight ukulele either. read more

I went to uke republic and tried on some different instruments. Great customer service and a good selection of instruments. Mike is a very nice guy and knowledgable. I highly recommend using this shop although it is a bit out of the way. read more

What a wonderful find. We came all the way from North Carolina just to come to see the ukuleles. We loved it!!!!

Every place I travel, I seek out local music shops. Over the years, I've found great ones, and ones not so great - but if you want to see what a specialty music shop should be, go check out Uke Republic. Fantastic and rotating selection - incredible service - just a place I'd go and hang out (and I have). If you're passing through ATL and have any kind of layover (it's not very far from the airport), or if you live here and have any interest in music or ukes in particular, this is an absolute must-go type of situation. And while it might seem this review was written at the behest of Uke Republic, I can assure you that no compensation in the form of unlimited free ukuleles for life was offered, as that would be in violation of Yelp policy and my own sense of moral and ethical business practices.........though I'd certainly be willing to take down this review if they wanted to make me such an offer. read more
