**This review is for the 8 Arms Muay Thai seminar** I had a fantastic experience this past weekend at the UFC Gym Concord Sunvalley. Review of the seminar: 5 out of 5 stars I saw a post online about a Muay Thai seminar hosted by Anthony Aurellio and decided that I wanted to go check it out. I didn't see information about how to register, so I reached out to Anthony directly via Instagram. He was very gracious and not only made sure that I had all the details for the event, but also that my name was on the list so that the registration process would be smooth. The day of the event, I was directed to the bag room where Kru Anthony greeted us individually with a friendly smile and invited us to warm up while we waited for the others to arrive. There was a fairly large group of interested students. I was happy to see a nicely mixed crowd with men and women of varying ages and excited to get started. We started with a jump rope and push up circuit and then moved on to warming up our hips with balanced round kicks on the gloves. I was already sweating and I appreciated the intensity of the warm up as I could feel my whole body loosen up and adjust to the training. We did a few partner drills to practice the parry/cross defence, parry/teep defence and the parry/sweep/elbow defense. Then there was a session where we had a chance to demonstrate what we learned and have a light sparring round with Kru Anthony. The entire seminar was very informative, Kru Anthony was very attentive, he monitored each group of students, making sure that we not only understood the drills, but also executed them correctly. He was very patient with everyone and met us all at our varying levels of experience. There was a great sense of cameraderie among the group and I definitely felt that I would attend regularly if there was a weekly class. There aren't many opportunities to learn Muay Thai from someone who has studied for the majority of their career. I learned many techniques that I cannot wait to implement in my next class. Kru Anthony did a great job directing a room full of many people with not much space. His engaging manner of teaching kept the group focused in spite of the fact that we were sharing the area with a BJJ class. If there is another seminar hosted by Kru Anthony, I will definitely be there. Please make it happen! read more

Bait and switch and sleezy. I came across an ad on Instagram for a free 3-day pass and I clicked it which sent me to their website. I filled out all my information and I received a text message inviting me to the gym for a free pass. I told them I was available to come in today and they said sure. Upon coming into the club I was told they do not honor guest passes anymore and I was charged $25. I paid the fee and decided to try out the club in hopes that I would join, even though I felt misled and the staff wasn't very concerned with the false information I was let on with. The gym itself is a cheap knockoff of zoo culture. If anyone is familiar with that gym in LA...the same red and black theme. The bag area is downstairs in a separate enclosed room. You have to pass by the locker rooms which smelled like urine. The room itself is nice. It's padded and there's a at least 20 bags to choose from. The only complaint I had about the bags are that they are a little bit too soft, light and they don't swing freely so it's hard to get a good true boxing workout in there. The room itself was extremely stuffy, much stuffier than the rest of the gym and after about 7 or 8 rounds of hard working out, I couldn't tolerate the air flow in there anymore. I had to go to the outer room where they still have four bags hung on a metal rack. A few of the bags in that room hang freely so the workout was much better and I even got to use a cheap speed bag that they have in the corner. The only problem with that room is it's full of short Meathead douchebags that are all over the place hogging up the mirrors flexing with their shirts off. The whole place gave off a real sleazy vibe and the urine smell by the staircase really didn't help since you have to pass by any time you go up or downstairs. I wasn't even given a tour of the club, I had to ask the 3 staff members behind the desk where the bags were and then give myself a tour. Unfortunately, due to the terrible first impression and bad experience, I would not consider joining this place. read more

Updated review. I love this place! All new equipment. They work hard on cleaning, including bathrooms. I had some siggestions, the owner was super responsive. Hours are treat. Trainers are great. Classes are great. Great if you just want a gym, great if you want to learn some Marshall arts, either more casual or competetive (i guess, im more casual). Good gym vibe. Kudos to UFC management for this fantastic facility. The gym is equipped with new machines and has a great atmosphere. Everyone--staff and members alike--is respectful. It's a two-level space: the first floor houses free weights, machines, cardio equipment (treadmills and bikes), and plenty of flat-screen TVs. Downstairs, you'll find a studio, a bags area, and multiple dedicated deadlift stations. Overall, it's an excellent gym. I'm genuinely puzzled by its low overall rating. Perhaps some people have unrealistic expectations without wanting to pay a premium price. In my opinion, the value here is outstanding! read more

Love this gym but I also want to give a shout out to the recovery center in the gym because it's amazing. So many options for recovery like Cryo therapy, Massage Chairs, Compression sleeves for your legs hips and arm and so much more. Love Aerolon for ALWAYS being amazing and taking such good care of me every time. She is always very attentive and I greatly appreciate her!!! read more

Since they changed locations there is a lot less space, machines, and equipment. Beware of scammy sales team! I signed up unsure if I wanted to do classes or not. I asked if they had Pilates or yoga classes and they assured me that they do, well 4 months into my membership there has not been a single Pilates or Yoga class offered. The only class times they offer are super early in the morning or right at dinner time, which does not work for my schedule. The sales lady assured me that I was choosing a "month to month" membership that I could downgrade to regular access or cancel at anytime online no problem. Well I went to downgrade my membership online and I wasn't allowed to, I called customer service and they redirected me to the gym, and then I called the gym who said they wanted to charge me $100 to downgrade my membership... If you have to lie to people to sell memberships and sneak things into long contracts then shame on you! No wonder they had to downgrade to a smaller location doing business like this! read more

Looking forward to management hopefully addressing some minor issues. 1st visit on 3/3 front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. Music was too loud so pointless to wear earbuds. Plates laying all over because members aren't always racking. No bands available for stretching. read more

Every single time, Coach Robin meets me with understanding, patience, and encouragement. He truly listens, understands my body, and tailors each session to meet me where I am. From the moment I walk through the door, they greet me with warm smiles and kindness. That positive energy makes such a difference, especially on days when motivation is hard to find. The new Sun Valley location is clean, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. The owner keeps the place impeccable, and it truly shows in every detail. Their pride in the facility creates an atmosphere that feels professional, uplifting, and comfortable. I am writing to provide a professional review of my experience while attempting to cancel my membership at the following location: 359 Sun Valley Mall Concord, CA 94520 On January 24, 2026, I visited the facility at approximately 11:15 AM to request an in-person membership cancellation. At that time, I was informed that no manager was onsite and that I would need to return later in the day at 3:30 PM, based on management availability. This created an inconvenience, as I had made the effort to visit the facility specifically to complete the cancellation process. On January 25, 2026, I contacted the facility by phone and spoke with Charles Logan, Manager, to express my concerns and inquire whether the cancellation could be addressed given the circumstances. I was advised that the lack of management coverage on January 24, 2026 was an EXCEPTION due to UFC-related activities, per Charles Logan, Manager. While this explanation was noted, I did not feel my concerns regarding customer impact and inconvenience were fully acknowledged, and I was again advised to return to the facility. Later that same day, I returned to the gym at approximately 12:50 PM. Upon arrival, there was no staff present at the front desk. Several employees appeared to be gathered in an administrative room near the recovery area. A staff member who had just arrived notified the group that assistance was needed. During this time, I overheard a comment questioning whether the individual waiting was a member and suggesting that assistance could be delayed if not. I waited approximately 20 minutes before approaching staff directly to identify myself as a member and request cancellation assistance. At that point, Mr. Logan assisted with processing the cancellation. While the cancellation itself was completed, his approach during the interaction was concerning. At one point, he walked away from the customer during the discussion, which is unacceptable in a customer service setting. If he felt unable or uncomfortable addressing the matter, an appropriate alternative would have been to involve another qualified staff member or manager rather than disengaging from the interaction. Based on this experience, I respectfully recommend that Manager Charles Logan receive additional customer service training, particularly in areas of professional communication, conflict management, approachability, and proper escalation when a situation cannot be effectively handled. Management behavior sets the tone for the overall member experience, especially during sensitive matters such as membership cancellations. I am sharing this feedback to highlight opportunities for improvement related to front desk coverage, management availability, and customer service standards. This is for the new gym's customer service; The person in charge of the front desk team needs to revisit BASIC customer service skills and basic knowledge of the gym itself. Horrible service of the entire front desk. First visit: *asked the front desk if they can help me with signing up through the activefit app and the associate said for me to just do the same thing I did online with the previous UFC Gym location. I told him that the new location isn't on the activeapp yet which is why I need assistance. 2nd visit: *spoke to a different associate that there was no option of the new gym to sign up online using the activefit app. He said that they no longer utilize insurance via the activefit since they moved location. Waste of time coming back. I ended up just signing up online a different day since I really liked the new gym and equipments and I was able to utilize the recovery room since I had the 3 day pass *3rd visit: brought my family over and 2 of them also signed up. I wanted to upgrade my membership and the front desk said nobody in the building can help me at the moment since only certain associate can do it-not even the manager that was present. And my other brother in law had the 3 day pass and wanted to check out the recovery room to see if he would like to upgrade if he ends up signing up. The worker at front mentioned to him that he cannot access the room and it's only for VIPs and that they don't do tours. This is the first time I've heard a gym associate tell a potential client/member that they do not do a gym tour. Immediately regret signing up and won't be recommending the new gym friends and family . read more

Dec 26 2025 Came in to train early this morning 5 AM and the gym was not open, despite the posted hours online and on the door clearly stating open at 4:00 AM. I checked other UFC Gym locations, and they were open as scheduled. This is clearly a management issue. If hours are posted, the gym should be open--especially for members who plan their training around early access. Saw a lot of other frustrated members pissed off the gym was not open. There are also ongoing operational problems that need attention. The gym consistently runs out of basic cleaning supplies--empty spray bottles, no paper towels, or both. That's unacceptable in a fitness facility where cleanliness should be a priority. Additionally, the temperature inside the gym is uncomfortably hot, especially in the downstairs area, which makes training difficult and unsafe during intense workouts. Front desk accountability also needs improvement. Being told to "go online" for membership information is frustrating when the information is incomplete or unclear. Staff should be trained to answer basic membership questions on the spot. Management needs to ensure responsible employees are opening the facility on time, maintaining cleanliness standards, regulating temperature properly, and providing knowledgeable customer service. Consistency and professionalism matter. read more

The place has all new equipment, and is missing some equipment that my existing gym has. So check if this gym has all the equipment that you regularly use. Interior dark red color scheme gives it a dreary feel. Internally the gym temp is quite warm. Don't know how it's going to feel in the summer time. Men's restrooms are the old 24 Hour gym stuff. Two sinks were clogged up on my visit at the end of November. read more

They've updated their hours and are now open 24 hours during week days, so happy! I loved all the new equipment when I went there, and everything looked nice and clean. Don't let the photos fool you. It's, aesthetically nice in the pictures HOWEVER, you must account for several cons. First, it feels like there is no circulation whatsoever. It's hot, humid, and so hard to breathe because of all the CO2. Second, the way some of these machines are set up don't make sense. Third, it's SO PACKED. There's always so many people, all the machines are always taken, so many newbies (which I know is no one's fault especially not their own). Lastly, they don't offer BASIC GYM ITEMS. Like stretch bands, hip-thrust pads, enough mats and other things. Also considering half the population in the gym are women and one hipthrust machine ?? doesn't add up. Plus I don't support who UFC supports politically. Will be terminating my membership read more

When I found out UFC was moving to the old 24 hour fitness gym I was confused because I knew it was a smaller gym than UFC. The equipment is aesthetically pleasing but how every machine is basically bunched up is inconvenient feels like everyone is crowded. The cardio area was significantly condensed. I've gone two nights in a row and was not able to use the treadmill I even waited an extra hour and still wasn't able to get a machine. The old gym had a whole one side of the floor filled with cardio machines. I feel they could've at least used the downstairs as a cardio area or at least the side where they added all the squat racks. The aerobics room is tiny. The bathrooms are the old 24 hours gym bathrooms nothing has changed. I really wish they would've just fixed the old building and stayed at that location. This gym is always sooo packed it's impossible to really get a good workout in. There's always cliques of about 3/4 ppl and it makes it hard to get anything done. read more

Tried to come to this place with an open mind but the first time I came the sauna was closed and when it finally opened turns out it's an upgrade now which is ridiculous since it was included when I originally signed up for the membership in the willows location. The front desk said they "might" be making some for everyone but not until next year. Also there's always at least one bathroom with a clogged toilet and almost all with no toilet seat covers. This place definitely has potential if they can listen to their customers but as of now quite disappointing. Plus they got rid of the arm bar which was the best and so convenient. read more

All the staff are helpful and friendly. It is a gym able to facilitate your workout and recovery needs.

$50 extra per month to use the sauna and they close too early on sunday (8pm). The people that work there seem so unhappy all the time. Wouldn't recommend it read more

I was given a price to renew my yearly contract and annual fee back in October. At that time the manager, Chris made a mistake on my contract and the renewal fee. I brought it to his attention when I got home that day he said he would fix it. He fixed the contract, but not the annial fee. This went on for two months and then he said he can't fix his mistake. I have contacted the corporate office three times in the last month and still have not heard back from them I am not happy with UFC's current management. read more
