On the road again
Renae D.

We're so grateful to this place. Emily was especially helpful. Thank you so much. They helped us save our babies!! We had an emergency at the rest stop about 18 minutes away in Ocala at the rest area. Thank god this was the closest place to us. We will never forget them. Somehow our snack bag fell over. The kids had it unzipped & they got into gum. Just about The worst thing they can get ahold of. Xylitol is deadly. Anyways, they calmly instructed us what to do and then we safely rushed there. They took them right back, gave them some medicine and monitored them. They suggested we keep them overnight. But with much debate, We decided with the quick reaction time to go ahead and get back on the road for our Disney Vacation. They're safe & healthy thanks to them!!

Blue Nose Weezy!

Unfortunately I had to take my twelve year old blue nose to an emergency hospital, glad I chose this one. The name speaks for itself and the staff were all friendly and professional. Throughout the night they did what they could for my boy and were constantly in contact via phone, but due to the severity of his condition I had to make the hardest decision and let him be free... he's in a better place and knows he had the best chance of surviving within the hospital. Thanks again to the staff who helped him pass without suffering. RIP-Weezy.

I Had an Emergency rattlesnake bite and called ahead to warn them of possible poisoning and to have a Gurney ready. Gave all the symptoms to receptionist and gave an ETA. Got there..no gurney outside to load him on. No tech in site and when they finally showed up after yelling we need a gurney for my 80lb Lab he was dead. I am not saying he would have survived all this but 5 minutes has save someone before. Please train your front desk properly for emergencies. That is what you do. Its not her fault you could have trained her to use GPS and relay info properly and even had the gurney ready. I do rescue work for large dogs but this was my personal 4 yrs old. We realky need an Emergency Vet in Inverness or Beverly hills. We had everything going against us. Friday rush hour traffic and a young receptionist that was new to the area and couldn't answer or pass on Emergency info.

January 18, she was at home waiting to go to UF.

I never had any complaint about Dr. McCall. Dr. Johnson on the other hand - STAY AWAY!!!!! NEVER bring your dog there for their dental cleaning!!! All I'm gonna say is I brought my darling Izzy in for dental in Sept 2025. She came home in terrible condition! She couldn't eat, she could barely stand or walk and they had no hours when I could bring her back in because I work 8-4:30 and so do they. When I kept calling there and expressing my being upset, they tried to turn it on me that it's MY fault because I didn't bring her back after her surgery. How could I when I work???? I kept bringing her to the emergency animal hospital on 40. Their after care is pathetic. It cost me $1800 to basically kill my little girl. She ended up passing away in my arms the following week - After multiple visits to the emergency Vet. NEVER let Dr. Johnson do dental on your dog! Go to Marion County Humane Society clinic. They are 1/3 the cost, they do the bloodwork the morning of surgery so there is NO QUESTION that your dog can be safely put under anesthesia. The Vet there as well as the team were outstanding. My new rescue came home after surgery and the first thing he wanted to do was eat! What a difference. Save your heart from breaking and avoid this place. Again, my condolences to Dr. McCall because I really liked her, but she was also a disappointment in the end because she never reached out to me during this fiasco.

Dr. Johnson has done dental cleaning and several extractions on my middle aged cocker, Katie…read more ALWAYS thorough and always happy with his work. His office is well run with minimal wait times. He calls with results of blood work and gives detailed explanations of the readings. I worked for a vet decades ago. Toby Johnson is my top choice here in Ocala area.
