Located on a street with many great restaurant choices in Liberdade, this spot is known for good udon. If you're lucky, you'll catch one of the chefs working on rolling and cutting a fresh batch of noodles by the front window from the street. You'll be able to get a glimpse of their technique which is super neat to watch.
I arrived for dinner. Udon Jinbei opens for lunch and then closes and reopens again for dinner. I ordered the Tempura Udon and the portion was perfect for me. I deliberately did not order a beer because I wanted to be able to enjoy the broth of the soup and be able to eat everything so as to there wouldn't be any leftovers.
The service was great. I liked how the menu was fairly simple with not too many choices. Pay up front by the door on your way out. There is bar and table seating. I would say good for groups no bigger than 4, couples, and singles. Had a pleasant time here and would recommend to anyone who is in the mood for udon over ramen. read more
