I could no longer exercise or perform household tasks. I went to an ortho surgeon, who prescribed 18 PT sessions to strengthen my back/abdomen. The PT released me from therapy because I did not have a lack of strength in my back/abdomen and that my pain must come from elsewhere. So, I went to see a chiropractor and after adjustments, he told me a story. His wife had suffered from chronic back pain. As a doctor himself, he had done research and came across a pain management doctor in the area. He sent his wife to that doctor and after several treatments, she was pain free and had remained pain free to that date. That is how I came to meet Dr. Munir. I made an appointment at Southwest Ohio Pain Institute (SWOPI) and by this time, I was waking up around 3:00 AM in such pain that I could not fall back asleep. I had sleep deprivation and passed out during my first appointment. His staff was excellent and I felt like I was in the right place. This doctor was going to help me. Dr. Munir completed a physical exam and asked questions to understand what triggers the onset of my pain. After a series of evaluations, he informed me that he did not believe it was an issue with my spine, but rather an issue with muscle spasms pulling at my spine, resulting in both muscle & structural pain. Dr. Munir outlined a program, which included steroid shots, a low dose muscle relaxer and a series of stretches to be performed multiple times a day that would target underlying muscles not often reached through traditional stretching. After a few days of following his program, I experienced my first good night of sleep in close to a year. After about a month, I was experiencing about 50% relief, but I wanted to shoot for the stars and get back to my active lifestyle. Dr. Munir suggested adding red light therapy to my program. His studies had shown that when used in conjunction with steroid injections, the red light therapy (performed twice a week for 8 weeks) would add additional pain relief. And he was right, it did. Not 100%, but by that point my pain relief was about 85%. It was well worth the time and the investment. Again, not one to give up or settle for anything less than 100%, I tasked him with finding that additional 15% of pain relief that would allow me to sleep each and every night, perform household tasks and get back to exercising. Dr. Munir suggested radio frequency ablation (RFA) and thus we started on the evaluation process to determine where most of the pain stemmed from. We decided to treat my left side first - it was a rather simple 20 minute procedure, local anesthesia, performed in the office. I walked out and soon realized that my pain was gone. It was 100% gone on my left side with about a 95% improvement on my right side as well! I could immediately tell the difference in muscle tightness from my left side to my right side. I came back in a month to see Dr. Munir for treatment on my right side. By then my life had changed dramatically. I had been going to the gym, I had started running again and lifting weights. I was sleeping through the night - every night - and feeling rested in the morning. My physical state had improved and so had my emotional state. I was ecstatic with the results! I couldn't believe that I'd spent a year seeing different doctors (by the way, I also saw a neurologist, a rheumatologist and got a second opinion with another orthopedic surgeon) and Dr. Munir was only 5-minutes from my house. It has been several months now and I am 100% pain free. I am also free to pursue the things in life that bring me joy. Thank you, Dr. Munir, for taking the time to ask me thorough questions and for spending the time to properly evaluate my physical issues and for developing a treatment program that was unique to me. Thank you for sticking with me and for not brushing me off because there wasn't a glaringly obvious reason for the pain.

I tell her my right hand looks good but veins collapse and will she let me warm my hands under warm water. She has never heard of warming hands up!!! She picks being up from thumb. She is the WORST! Then says "thats the most painful spot". Why in the hell would you go there FIRST! I knew after meeting Rebecca then Susie that I was at a training facility with no training going on. In surgery I am asked is there any thing they should know since I will be on my stomach. I start to tell them not to turn my head to the left but idiot knocked me out in middle of sentence. He was very rude and uncaring to my 22yr old daughter. Horrible Bedside Manners. This was her first time in the hospital EVER and did not deserve to be treated this way. We asked for a note to show she was in the hospital and for her to be excused from work for the remainder of the week since he ended up putting her under for a procedure. He would not give her any documentation. Then her job asked for him to fill out a FMLA for future absences that could come from her diagnosis and now life long disease. He REFUSED to fill it out. He should not have the right to refuse to fill out a form her job requires so she does not lose it. We are now looking for a new doctor b/c I refuse to give him anymore of our money.

As parents that live out of state, we are baffled by the lack of care that she received. She sat in the waiting room , after being taken back to get her vitals, and have a port put in her arm for dehydration, for 2 hours with severe vomitting and diarrhea symptoms. I assume the port was put in during her initial check knowing that fluids and anti nausea meds were needed. To say she was visibly upset during her hours spent waiting, is a complete understatement. I had multiple conversations with her during that time, and between the exhaustion of 12 plus hours of no sleep because of the symptoms, and the lack of any kind of knowledge of what was coming, she was beyond consolation. My older daughter that had dropped her off initially (that has 2 kids under 3 so she couldn't stay with herj , went back to see her sister sittting in the ER room with a port in her arm and a bag of vomit on her lap, as weak as could be. She demanded that her sister either be seen immediately, or that they needed to take the port out so she could take her to a different facility. One of the front desk nurses actually listened to her, and they were told that she would be the next patient taken back and that a "floating doctor" would see her asap, as all of the ER doctors were extremely busy. Said doctor arrived, and the meds were ordered. Pretty quickly, she was hooked up to an IV with fluids and anti nausea meds only to be told as the meds were being administered that she would have to sit in the waiting room with the IV for what would assumably be hours for the IV to be administered. I was actually on the phone with my daughters as the oldest one tried to advocate for her sick sister to find out if there was even just a chair that she could sit on someplace so that she wasn't out in the waiting room with the general population, only to be met with a resounding no. I could hear my youngest daughter sobbing out of stress, sickness, and exhaustion, They were told that if an open bed became available, she was eligible and what my daughter asked if her sister would get the first open bed, she was told no. My oldest daughter than told the person who was "caring" for her sister to take the IV out, during which time she was vomittng, and blood from the removal of the IV was all over her pants. The lack of empathy, the complete disregard for any dignity for my daughter, is beyond unacceptable. This is a newer building and part of the very nice UC West Chester campus. There is "ideally" plenty of parking, although it is very busy so it might take a few mins, allow for extra time. I was immediately greeted upon entering the main lobby by a woman asking about my covid exposure etc. They then tag you with a red or green sticker and you may proceed on. The people at the eventual office I came here for were so kind and helpful, I was very impressed. I was able to check in contactlessly via my UCHealth MyChart. I did not have to fill out any new paperwork as they utilized it all from there. Wait time was less than 5mins. I was tested while I was here which was easy and painless. The results (neg YaY) appeared in MYChart within 24hrs!! Luckily this was just an adverse event and everyone took great care of me!

She gave a short speech about germs, etc, and that was that. Proceeded with registration, paid $135 and waited about 25-30 mins. Go to the extremely tiny exam room, vitals are taken and then the nurse asked us both to put masks on. I told her no, we do not wear masks. She said that "this particular provider" was very adamant that all patients wear masks. I told her no, that we would take a refund and go to our usual doctor tomorrow. She led us to a bigger exam room and said she would check and see if he would see us. We waited another 5 minutes before being told he would not see us. They did refund immediately. I can't speak to the level of care, since we were denied being seen, but it's ridiculous to expect a child to block her airway when she is already suffering from some sort of respiratory infection. After all we know about the ineffectiveness of masks, it is astounding that anyone is still subscribing to this nonsense. At the very least, I should have been told after my initial mask refusal that the doctor would not see us- did they think we would be bullied into masking? Ridiculous waste of time.

NOBODY THERE returns calls or messages, no matter the urgency. Psychiatrists only have a couple minutes to spare, if you can even get on their schedule once a week. As i stated before, your visit might vary. Mine was a total waste of time and money and put a person with mental health issues at risk of harming themself or others due to them delaying discharge records (on purpose IMHO) as other providers wont work with you if you were in a prior program without formal discharge papers. 5 days is way too long to wait, they should have them the day of discharge,. The only positive from my time there was interacting with others in attendance. It reassured me that i needed to get mental health help so i didnt end up like them. I realized that the help i needed was not from Beckett Springs!!!

When we got there, were pleasantly surprised to see it was nearly empty. The location looks brand new and was very clean. A screen in the waiting room showed patients in front of you and estimated wait time. Ours turned out to be much shorter than expected, maybe 15 minutes. Our doctor was excellent, taking the time to explain what had likely happened, as well as the workings of the ear and a plan of treatment. She took as much time as we wanted and answered all questions. I would definitely recommend this location.
