I would like to write about my recent interaction with this particular company that has left such…read morean awful taste in my mouth and nothing to hear with in my ears. Being a younger adult needing hearing aids, this is a difficult enough issue to face to begin with. This is an item that is expensive and one that is very personal. For whatever reason, too many concerts, my ipod, who knows, I am left with a hearing loss in one of my ears. I found my way to Sound Hearing solutions. I had my test and was indeed informed I had a hearing loss. The next thing i knew, I was being told what to buy, and the options that were available. My issue with this was that I was not told any information about "my loss", I was just being told how much money to spend. In addition the comment was actually made "can you not afford this" HOW RUDE!!! I could have one dollar in my pocket or one million, I should be treated just the same. I felt like I was treated so unfairly. I pride myself on how I treat others, and always want the same treatment in return. I would NEVER go back there, nor would I recommend them to anyone. Just to clarify, I was at the newer location in NEWCASTLE, not Port Hope. Yet, if they are related, help them both. I found a family owned place name Nu Life hearing centre in Bowmanville. Although I have not made up my mind on a hearing aid yet, they made me feel like I was home. Perhaps it was that the office is in a nice little historic home, but they made me feel human. I was welcomed and treated like I was gold. Thank god there are people out there with respect.
