Never mind the cobblestones lining the entire stretch of Old Town. Taxis are also apparently not regulated so even though I had a good idea of the current exchange of the PLN, I didn't want to deal with that on top of haggling. My first Google search brought me to this shuttle service and after reading good reviews via Expedia, booked the round trip via their site. For the entire trip, from KRK to old town and back, my total in USD was only $44 so PLN 164. When I arrived, our driver had a sign out waiting with my name on it. Our trip to the hotel was quick and efficient and he delivered me right close to the hotel. Pick-up was also efficient and timely. Driver assisted with my bags and we were at the airport in 20 minutes. The fleet/shuttles are modern, newer, and provide a smooth ride. I also noted that with the amount of traffic going to/from old town, these drivers were well experienced. I have to also mention cute ;) If I could rate their service with 10 stars, I would. Please remember to tip the drivers well. I noticed a lot of American/Asian tourists were not heavy into tipping but for a country where the exchange rate is lower and a lot of workforce here are labor driven, acknowledging their service is just another way to express appreciation. Friendly, helpful, and with an efficient online portal, 5 top stars via Yelp and another 5 virtual additional for being a great addition to the transportation options from KRK to city center!

LEO Express is a Czech firm that operates connections between Krakow and Prague using a combination…read moreof trains and coaches. From Krakow, you board the bus at RDA (upper level). It goes first to Katowice, then onward to Bohumin just across the border. There you wait twenty minutes or so for the train, which then takes you the rest of the way. The journey is roughly six hours. One starts at 9:00 and you get into Prague at 15:10. Another starts at 17:00 and you get there at 23:10. The coach is quite modern, with very comfortable seats. There's free WiFi on board. You get a free bottle of water and a croissant. The "ride-attendant" will stop by your seat and ask if you want coffee or tea. The train also looks quite slick. It was impeccably clean. Beyond that I can't say more since I got off literally five minutes later (at Ostrava). On the return trip, if no passenger is traveling to Katowice, the driver will skip the city. That shaves a half an hour off the travel time. Good service, convinient times, and very competitive prices--for people travelling to Prague, LEO Express is an excellent option.

Icar has even become synonymous with the word 'taxi' as it's always the first company I call when I need one. So there's not much to say other than that it's one of the cheaper companies in Krakow that many locals use and they take you to the place you want to go! The call center generally has english speaking staff available, and when they say the car will be there in 7 minutes they sure mean exactly 7 minutes, which is great and reliable!

Had hotel call iCar and set up pickups so no language issues. Took iCar from hotel to airport with 5:15 am pickup for proice of 36 PLN, less than half of fixed rate with hotel taxi. Recommend iCar.

Yelp Review 2023 #107:…read more Not far from Krakow Old Town (about an 8-minute drive/ cab ride or 15-minute walk) is Krakow Glowny bus station which is connected to the train station. My Uber driver dropped me off at the train station side so I had quite a trek with my luggage and backpack. There's an indoor waiting area with vending machines and snack bar if you want some coffee, water, juice, sandwich, etc. There are restrooms behind the building. There are big monitors so you can see departure information for your bus including which terminal you need to be at. Arrive 20-30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Sometimes the bus arrives early. All the buses I've taken so far have all been 15-20 minutes early. The bus terminals would of course be outside but it's fully covered so no need to worry about rain or snow. There's a few hard benches if you're tired of standing.
