I had surgery at St. Vincent's East March 1st. The week before the surgery I had a pre-op…read moreappointment where I signed a lot of papers and gave a lot of blood. I sat in the waiting room less than five minutes before my name was called. After filling out the paperwork they walked me to the lab (didn't want me to get lost, I guess) where I waited less than 10 minutes before I was called to the back to get an EKG, and drained of all bodily fluids. I have spider veins, yet they hit blood on the first, pain free poke. Kudos to the lab staff! When I showed up on the 1st for the surgery, again, there was no waiting. Less than 20 minutes after arriving I was in a gurney, being prepped. I was in a lot of pain post op (duh). I know I annoyed the nurse assigned to me in recovery but she patient and kind. When I was moved to my regular room (two night stay for me) all of the RNs, NAs, lab techs, etc. were friendly, professional, and saw to my needs. When I said I hurt or was nauseous, I was given immediate relief. My one complaint were my roommates (in my private room). At one point there was a housefly that buzzed around, but after one of my naps, the fly was gone. There were also half a dozen ladybugs crawling on the ceiling. When one of them landed on me to say hello, I may or may not have screamed like a little girl, but like the fly, after one of my naps, the ladybugs were gone. I highly recommend St, Vincent's East. It's a lot farther from my home than other hospitals, but if I find myself in need of elective surgery again, I hope that I can have it done at STVE,.

Dr. Eli and Farinna Willis took great care of me and my baby during my birthing and labor…read moreexperience and that's all I will say regarding my labor and delivery experience of 2021 because I don't want to down talk the experience I had with the nurses! Dr. Willis even allowed me to switch to her services while I was 25 weeks pregnant which turned out to be the best decision that I could've ever made for myself and my baby. If my husband and I ever plan a second child I will definitely return to the care of this physician group ONLY! They are the only two ppl I trust to birth my children in this entire state as a California native.

Our daughter gave birth to our grandson on January 3, 2025, under the care of Dr. Christina Maddox…read more To preface, I have been a patient at Brookwood Medical Center for over 30 years. I gave birth to my daughter in 1993 with Dr. Robinett and have since entrusted my care to Brookwood. Currently, I see Dr. Maddox and recommended her to my daughter as well. We both appreciate Dr. Maddox's attentiveness and thorough approach. However, I am posting this review with concerns regarding the care my daughter has received post-delivery and the treatment we experienced during her hospitalization. Following her C-section, a 7-day bandage was placed on her incision, preventing us from monitoring her healing. When the bandage was removed, we noticed redness, and shortly thereafter, our daughter began feeling unwell. Upon contacting the after-hours line, she was advised to go to the emergency room, where she was admitted due to a serious infection. This entire situation has been emotionally taxing , especially being separated from her newborn while undergoing treatment. We were initially informed by OB ED nurses that the baby could stay with her as long as I remained present to care for him since he was no longer a patient. While we appreciated this flexibility, the support we received from staff was inconsistent and, at times, dismissive. For example, when we moved to a room (on the 6th floor) from the ED, we had to plead with the nurse on duty, Tamika Reeves, for basic supplies like diapers and wipes. My husband had packed a small bag for the baby, but it was insufficient, and since it was late, we had to wait until the next day to order additional items. On January 13 at 8:49 PM, when we asked for a bottle of formula because our daughter wasn't producing enough milk and needed rest, the assigned nurse, Anna Brett Williamson, informed us it was against policy to provide formula since the baby wasn't a patient. When I requested to speak with the charge nurse, I was disheartened to learn it was Ms. Reeves again, who previously was unhelpful. After decades of being a loyal patient, I am deeply disappointed with the lack of compassion and support we experienced. Denying a single bottle of formula to a newborn, especially under these circumstances, is inexcusable. Furthermore, I am left to question whether our daughter's infection could have been prevented had a different approach been taken with her incision care. The level of care we received during this critical time is indicative of the decline in the quality of service. This experience has led me to reconsider continuing my care with your hospital and to understand why others have expressed similar concerns in online reviews. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no family should have to deal with this kind of situation.

I have been coming here for years and never had a bad experience…read more The drs are all professional and really seem to care about the patients. The office/support staff are all nice and display patience when engaged with patients. I specifically see Dr. Christian Dey and she is the absolute best! Her practice is busy so I recommend trying to stick to your appt time when you schedule it. I had to reschedule an appt and it took a couple of months for me to get another appt. All of my appointments are typically quick but thorough. The offices are closed from 12 to 1 for lunch but if you arrive during this period, you can still sign in ; the check- in process is easy and fairly quick. I really like coming to Eastern OB Gyn ...I always have a good experience.

Please do not choose this hospital if you are under 30, single and a person of color. You will be ignored. Your opinion will not be considered. Your voice will not be heard. Your life and time will be of no importance I found a lump in my breast in February of 2021. Made an appointment to visit my physician. At my appointment, I was told that I WAS OK and IT WAS NOT CANCER and to follow up in 6 months. I followed up with Eastern OBGYN in the 6 months only to be told I have stage 3 breast cancer and it's spreading fast. I am 28. My initial visit when I discovered the lump was with Eastern OBGYN PC where I have been a patient since 2017. Where my medical records note that I have complained of breast pain since 2017 and I have a family history of cancer. I was told by my oncologist that the abnormalities were noted in my initial exam back in February of 2021 but the drs didn't think anything of it because of my age. I am only 28 years old. I was 27 at the time of my diagnosis in September of 2021. 6 months after I noticed the lump, notified my physician, and was told I was ok.Not one person of any status within this hospital system has apologized for such a careless mistake. After 6 rounds of intense chemo, losing all of my hair.. a double mastectomy and an infection from the double mastectomy and over a month of radiation 5 days a week I am still having issues with this hospital system. Currently, I am in the process of completing 14 additional rounds of chemo and an additional drug. Dr. Ashley Fry is great. Dr. Anna Knight is literally an Angel on earth. She saved my life. The nurses are sent from heaven. Even after the surgery, I was bleeding profusely from one of my breast nipples, I visited my physician in tears and was told I was OK, it was not an infection and to just go home. A few weeks later, I myself discovered a huge infected hole on this very same breast that I was told by the doctors within this system that it was not an infection and I was ok and to go home. Again, I was ignored. I went to the ER a couple of weeks later and was told I had an infection and they had to remove the implant that was just placed bc of the reconstruction and mastectomy. Please choose the nearest research hospital or best research hospital for cancer treatment. Do me this favor and save your life. I'm not sure if this review will post because every other review that I've tried to post has only been visible to me. I pray that I will save your life. Also, I filed a complaint with the hospital and was told that someone from eastern would reach out. It has now been 7 months later. NOTHING.
