Hmm, where do I begin?.....Ok, so I've been renting from Budget for quite a few years now(maybe 4-5 yrs) b/c they're the cheapest in town for the type of vehicle that I need, which is always a compact car. I've never had a problem w/their services or their prices...until now. I also have a membership w/ them which is free called Fastbreak. It allows you to reserve and pay online so that when you pick up your vehicle it saves you time at the desk during checkout. I rented a car last week for my Mama who needed it for 4 days(Fri.-Mon.). I had a coupon code so I actually got it for a really GOOD price....so I thought. Well, when we got there I found out some things that I really didn't know about the rental. 1st, since I was renting the car for my mama(on my Fastbreak account) she had to be added as a secondary driver(not a problem), and she also had to have a debit or credit card in her name(problem). My mama doesn't have a debit/credit card in her name, so my Daddy had to be added as a secondary driver since the card is in his name, therefore adding an additional charge of $13(no problem, so I THOUGT). The front desk clerk, who will remain nameless(but there is only one indivdual that works behind the desk and is always by "themselves") told me that this was the charge...$13. Ok, no problem, added my Daddy as a driver. Done. On our way w/ the keys, my Daddy drove the car out of the "lot" and that was that....until......I check my credit card statement and there was an extra charge(nope, not $13) that I was VERY much unaware of at that time..but an additional $42.90...for what?...Are you kiddin' me?...gotta be kiddn' me, right?...WRONG! I print out my card statement and my confirmation page to take up there to Budget. The individual(like I said, will remain nameless), THEN tells me that it's $13 PER DAY......Really Dude!!!! PISSED!! Ok, so I asked "the individual" if they could waive the fee since there was mis-communication on their part...answer I recieved was "no". Had I known that there was a $13 per day fee to add another driver, I SHOLL WOULDN"T have added another driver. In the end, I was VERY UPSET about that charge that the "Budget representative" failed to inform me correctly about. However, since this is the 1st time that this has happened to me here, I probably won't stop renting from them simply b/c they have the best prices in town. Renters be aware and make sure that you read the fine print and ask questions if you're unsure about something(which I thought I was sure on everything seeing as I've rented plenty of times before). So, for this 1 bad experience they get a 3 star rating...maybe next time it will be 5 stars.

What an utter waste of time…read more Called to make a reservation using the local number, but since no one at the local number appears to answer the phone, it automatically transfers to the main call center. When speaking to the first representative who answered, I explained that we had a very specific vehicle need (number of seats) and was given two recommendations by the representative, only one of which she said was available to pick up at the Athens location on the morning we needed it. I confirmed with her that all of the details matched what we needed and made the reservation. When I reviewed the email reservation, however, the most critical element regarding seating was missing. I called back, and got another call center representative who verified the reservation and confirmed that the specific request I had made was available and assured me that she made a note on our reservation to further ensure that we would get the specific vehicle type that we needed. Well, of course, upon arrival to pick up said vehicle we were informed by the very rude woman working the desk at this Athens location that "this vehicle option did not exist" "has never been an option" and informed us that we could take something else or cancel the reservation. She was extremely impatient, unapologetic, and literally said "I'm very busy right now and don't have time for this. You can take what we have or cancel." This is literally the most pathetic customer service I have ever experienced, and quite frankly that is a low bar. I'm so sorry that our need to have your company fulfill the request that was promised TWICE by two different representatives was an inconvenience to you. We certainly weren't busy and had plenty of time to waste getting down to your location at 8am on a Saturday to pick up a supposedly nonexistent vehicle (according to your personal opinion since you didn't bother actually checking to confirm what options you had or calling anyone to verify what was reserved). We also had plenty of time to waste to make alternate accommodations on the fly to handle our transportation need for the day. Our bad. Thanks for making it spectacularly clear that your company has ZERO concern for your customer. We will be sure to spread the word so you won't be inconvenienced by any other folks who might show up actually expecting to get what they are paying for. Ridiculous.

    Completely Unacceptable Experience - Enterprise Failed Me If…read moreI could give zero stars, I would. I booked a rental through an insurance claim expecting a truck-for-truck replacement -- something suitable for a 6-foot-tall construction professional who hauls equipment daily. What did Enterprise hand me? A tiny, beat-up red Mitsubishi Mirage that looked like it belonged in a go-kart race, not a job site. I tried to be flexible and would've accepted a midsize car, but this was beyond unreasonable. When I called to request an exchange, I was told to check other locations in Athens. For three days straight, I called every branch and was told nothing was available. Finally, I was told a vehicle was ready -- I drove 20 minutes out of my way only to be lied to again. No vehicle. No apology. Just excuses about it being a game day weekend and everything being booked for the next week and a half. What about the customers who booked two weeks ago and are still being handed scraps? Enterprise clearly overbooks, underdelivers, and treats insurance claim customers like second-class citizens. Their lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to meet basic expectations is appalling. If you're relying on Enterprise to get you back on the road after an accident, prepare to be disappointed. I'll be taking my business -- and my insurance company's referrals -- elsewhere.
