Nothing terrible, just depending on the day and timing. Let's talk parking first. Whew. It can definitely be a challenge. The branch is located in the La Mesa Spring Valley Plaza, which is shared with several busy businesses like Round Table Pizza, Albert's Mexican Food, Vons, Sports Clips, and even an Asian buffet among others. Because of that, you may find yourself circling the lot a few times waiting for someone to pull out. If you're coming during peak hours, just prepare for that. I usually stop by when I'm already in the area running errands and just need to get in and out. For quick transactions, deposits, or basic banking needs, it works perfectly. Now let me say this -- the staff here are super sweet and very friendly. They really do try to take care of customers in a prompt and professional manner. I've never had to handle any major financial matters here, but for everyday banking needs, they've been solid. They also have an ATM outside and a drive-through option, which is convenient if you don't feel like going inside or you're short on time. Overall, California Coast Credit Union is a great credit union with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, plus access to shared branch locations in certain areas. That flexibility is a big win for me because I can bank pretty much anywhere I am in the city. If you're on the fence about joining California Coast, don't be. If you're looking to establish checking, savings, or just want a reliable credit union with accessibility around town, they're definitely worth giving a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Ever since North Island installed the new ATMs I avoid going there. The new ATMs will only let you…read moretake out hundreds if you're going for anything over 100 you have to be a brain surgery if you're getting money out of the ATM and there's a car two behind you it's not an easy machine to it to navigate I've been there at least 10 times and I always end up with $100 bill and an angry feeling because then I have to go to a store purchased something else with that hundred dollars just so I can use the hundred dollars for what it's intended progress is a headache and this is definitely one. Hopefully North Island will instruct their customers how to use these machines give them a link or something because it's very frustrating. I've been a member forever with North Island and I hate to go somewhere else.

Go ahead and try to apply for an energy efficient loan with a credit score above 740 on all three…read morebureaus, low debt to income ratio, low credit utilization under 10% and you will get denied the loan. Apparently they want people over 800 on their credit reports and probably no credit utilization under 5% so my suggestion is go find a different lender. We got denied with perfect credit and perfect payment history and no lates or anything negative on our credit for a Roofing loan which is considered an energy efficient loan, but apparently they didn't want to give us that loan so I am complaining about their internal policies and procedures because of probably the executive branch of the United States. Again, my suggestion is Shop around and get a better loan through a different lender. If you have to borrow against a HELOC loan or an HEI loan than I recommend doing that because you won't have any payments under an HEI loan and a HELOC loan is geared towards smaller payments for a longer period of time if that's what you need. I do not Bank with Wheelhouse Credit Union and I will never apply through their credit union again so they lost me as a potential first time customer and a future borrower through their credit union. I will not change my review of their internal processes. We will also be contesting the hard credit pull since they did not do a soft pull and they denied us with a hard credit pull.

That's backwards. When a business acknowledges its own error, accountability means the business reaches out, not the customer chasing a call center that has no authority to change anything. The branch manager who refused the waiver had my contact information and every opportunity to make this right, both in person and after the fact. She chose not to. A generic reply pointing me to Member Care doesn't change that decision, it just outsources it. I've already moved my business banking elsewhere, so this isn't about winning back my account. It's for the next member reading this when their own employee's mistake cost me money, the resolution offered was a phone number. Judge the relationship accordingly.

For context, I have had multiple business relationship with this institution for more than 20…read moreyears. I had an S-Corp that I ran for 27 years and an LLC that I ran for 10 years, and continued to run with a different banking institution. in 2025 I had a fraudulent check that they cashed for $5700 and refused to reimburse me even though I know they have insurance for this sort of thing. They insisted it was my fault because I didn't discovered it until four days later than there appropriate period of discovery.. After 27 years in business, I sold my company and closed my account. I still had my LLC account and would've liked to have Bill pay attached to my online banking. After many hours in the branch and on the phone, they were unable to accommodate that. They were also. unable to explain why they wouldn't accommodate that. After several phone calls and several un returned phone calls. I was fed up and went across the street to Chase Bank. Who opened a bank account with interest, a debit card, and Bill pay within 30 minutes. I would highly suggest that you do not do business with this bank. If you're in La Mesa go across the street to Chase. They will be more than happy to accommodate you. California bank and trust has no interest in customer service whatsoever. I closed my account in five minutes without even single question of why I was closing it and this was not an insignificant amount of funds. Please do not trust this place with your money.
