Senior is closest to us but not in the office today (Wed) and instead of offering another office she rushed me off the phone uncaring whether my husband was seen or not! That kind of eye care unprofessionalism doesn't start with clerks answering phones but trickles downhill. So glad we didn't trust them to our eyes!

I wanted to get in earlier so they told me to call every day to see if they had a cancellation. After a month or so of this I called and said this was serious, so they got me in at Cape Cora l ( my original appt was Ft. myers) on Feb. 2. I was thoroughly examined by an ex military guy (very thorough and understood my issues.). Next came the doctor who suggested I have eyelid surgery and come back for some sort of test measuring my eye. I told her that's all well and good but the eye infection was what I was there for. She told me to put warm compresses in the eye which I had been doing for 2 months. I wanted a refill on the antibiotic and she said she thought people were over using them. I said I needed something. She did give me a presciption for predisone eye drops that are making things much better. My point is : took too long for an appointment for my issue and it seemed that they were trying to upsell me to get eyelid surgery and extra tests.

The reason people with eye glasses visit eye doctor every year is to have vision check. I was asked when I sign in to pay $40 for refraction test. I explain that I only need my vision check because I need new eye glasses. Did not explain that refraction test is to get prescription. After the appointment I paid my copay $40 and I asked for prescription based on the doctor opinion that my vision changed and I need new glasses. I was told that I have to PAY to have the prescription. The bottom line if they explain when I sign in I will not waste my time. This is a totally BS. Lesson learned: next time I will go to Walmart and have my eye checked, prescription and glasses for less. A refraction is the test that is performed to determine your eyeglass prescription. ... A refraction test is usually given as part of a routine eye examination. It may also be called a vision test.

Long story short version-I had cataract surgery scheduled. I called them up when I realized I had a major conflict on my calendar. The surgical coordinator apparently left and instead of having her email forwarded, apparently they canceled her account... I realized that she had all my follow up visits wrong and there was no information about the drops and how to get them and what I could expect. plus they did a procedure which I did not want, and then they sent me a bill saying that I owed them money. I had to get my insurance company involved. Eleven attempts to reach their office via phone, email, call Center, website, patient portal, and in person... No response- zero. I filled out their form to get my records Emailed to me. Nearly 2 months later - I still don't have my records The only person I heard from was the surgery center the day before my surgery..... imagine their surprise. They're the only ones that apologized for my experience Found a small business optometrist who is excellent and I've already given them rave reviews. It's not rocket science people. - Answer your phone. - return your phone calls
