Charlie immediately recognized all of the issues, improper ventilation being key among them, and provided an estimate that covered them all. The work took a day and a half. This included re-sheathing and re-shingling the entire roof, about 1600sqft. After opening the roof, it was discovered that some additional rafter work would be required. They were prompt to address and adapt to the issue and the additional costs were clearly communicated. Everything was left neat and clean and the estimate ended up right on target. They also stand by their work. A month after the work was completed, we discovered that a section of drip edge was not depositing all rainwater into the gutters. We contacted them about this, a crew was promptly dispatched and all is now well. I would absolutely recommend McCarthy's Roofing.

On the second visit, there was slight damage to about a 2 square foot piece of our lawn. My husband was sure he could fix it so no worries. But I did mention it to the accounting staff when I paid my bill - ONLY to let them know to tell staff to be a little more careful where equipment was being placed - no expectations of remediation. Within five minutes of that conversation, I rec'd a call from a lovely gentleman who told me if I could give him a week, he'd come out and repair the damage. Which he did - looks great. We really recommend this firm.

To start with the positive, Coastal Roofing was very responsive, they have a physical office location that is staffed and you can visit, they return phone calls quickly (many roofing companies don't even get back to you when you leave a message), and were very friendly to talk to. Another positive was since we planned to list our home for sale in the near future, I was hoping to get the job started quickly and they did. Coastal gave a competitive price in their estimate, and made accommodations in their schedule to start on my roof within a few weeks. I was able to deal with the company owner directly, who was great to deal with initially. I was away on a trip when they started the project, and came back a few days before they were done. My first mistake (which I take full responsibility for) was to pay the company the full amount of the bill the day before they finished the project. They had done some notable damage to my gutters (see photos) and there was a lot of debris and nails all over the property. I was told by the company owner that they would clean up the site fully after they were finished and was assured that they would take care of the damage to my gutters. It is a year later and despite numerous promises that the damage would be taken care of, my gutters have not been repaired. They sent one of their own people out to straighten some of the nastier damage, but as you can see from the pictures that were taken after their visit, it didn't make a lot of difference. Coastal Roofing did send a gutter company out to look at the gutters several months after the roofing job was done, but the first thing the company told me when they got to my property was that if there was too much gutter to replace, they would leave (needless to say that comment took me by surprise), and then when I showed them the damage to the gutters they told me I was lying about the fact that Coastal Roofing did the damage. They left without repairing anything. Also worthy of mention is that in the weeks following Coastal Roofing finishing up the roof, we had to spend about 5 hours cleaning up hundreds of nails that were left behind on the lawn, around the edge of the house, and in the driveway. We also had to pick up pieces of roofing shingles, shingle packaging, and dozens of cigarette butts. They did a very poor job of ensuring that they cleaned up behind themselves when the job was done. Cosmetically, the roofing job itself is good, but definitely not great (a bit sloppy). The extensive damage to the gutters and their failure to make it right is disappointing to say the least. To end with another positive, the roof has not leaked, and has endured a number of wind storms without damage. Having said that, based on my experience with Coastal Roofing, I would definitely not recommend them to anyone.

I had been coming to this building for many years sometimes twice a month sometimes once a month for Medical Treatments as a person with disabilities and it's always been a pleasant experience because it's a day off and it's all about my self care and a wonderful practitioner until this day. A formal complaint was filed with both the company and with Quaker Landing of which neither one of them responded especially to my request to reimburse me for that treatment since it was all about the manifestations of being verbally attacked and assaulted for entertainment by two male contractors. I had been on the phone with my doctor crossing the crosswalk and had to immediately get off the phone because I was totally unaware, because of the lack of helpful signage, where I'm supposed to go as a regular member of this building because there was no signage telling me where to go to get to the front door -it just said the sidewalk was closed -but most businesses accommodate for the local traffic and clients that are coming into a building. I didn't have time to get my bearings before a very rude and obnoxious male about 30 ft in the air started calling me names repeatedly calling me stupid calling me a fucking bitch to the person he's speaking to who I couldn't see at the time and that person laughing so this has been a normalized occurrence. I was absolutely shocked I realized because my disabilities are invisible he wouldn't know that he offended me as a disabled person. I have a brain injury and his constant yelling at me and disorientated me so I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is going on and he only had to tell me was you have to cross back go around and come through the pedway but he kept arguing with me about the front door of which I told him I always come in the front door.. he wanted to argue about that too saying well if you've been here before then you know where I'm talking about I said well clearly I don't or else I'd be doing it instead of standing here arguing with you. He was obnoxious he was belligerent and misogynistic in his name calling and the fact that he was that comfortable doing it shows that this is a regular default of his. I reported it to my practitioner of which my entire treatment session was about the manifestations of that verbal assault that gender-offending verbal assault while I was trying to get into a medical appointment. I find out from my practitioner that I am one of many females that this business had been verbally inappropriate to and had screamed it and were called names. my entire treatment was distressed and we had to deal with the manifestations of this attacking male. When leaving I made sure to take pictures of the offending party and the other male was there just a young guy, and of course being a social worker was fully aware this is how misogyny gets passed from generation to generation because it's normalized as this clearly was because he would be the male that was laughing every time the other one was calling me a name yelling at me. Then he tried to flip the script.. the guy who was the mouthpiece when he was up on the scaffolding was now on the ground and he said you better not be taking pictures of my son. I said was your son rude to me or were you so clearly I'm taking pictures of you and you can see I was taking pictures of you and not your son..he didn't expect me to come back and take pictures of the company sign because he refused to tell me what company he worked with. The very fact that this company was still allowed to work on this place finding out that he had been rude to several females is shocking ..before I even took the pictures there was a male across the street that asked him how to get over to the building and he used a completely different voice of a different tone so this clearly was gender-offending and when I seen this license plate I seen oh so he thinks some white girl and he can think to talk to me like that too ..so we've got a racist and gender offending dynamic here. The company to date has not responded to the abuse I endured from his staff and I think they should be responsible for reimbursing me the $110 so I can have a proper treatment that they derailed that day Sadly now when I go back there I am not comfortable because they're still there.
