Seriously negligent…read more We've recently bought a share of a flat, and we did receive several letters from the HMRC letting us know that our stamp duty was not payed. Chadwick Lawrence did not pay for our stamp duty, even though we did transfer them the money before the purchase took place. After more than 4 months of dealing with long email chains and endless calls with the HMRC, Chadwick Lawrence claim they have solved the problem. Yet I still don't have a written confirmation from the HMRC that they have paid my stamp duty. I'm now claiming for a refund due to their negligent service but I have to go through an endless complaint procedure in order to do so. I would seriously consider any other solicitor service before Chadwick Lawrence. This is one of those cases where Reviews are actually true!!!

I was summonsed for a criminal driving matter to go to the Magistrates Court. I was told upfront that it was not imprisonable and therefore I would not be eligible for legal aid. I'm a newly trained teacher and couldn't afford the sums that the big firms charge. A friend told me to try Mortons Solicitors who are near to where I live. They were half the price I had been quoted elsewhere and were prepared to agree to pay in installments ahead of the trial. A driving licence is essential for my work as I live 10 miles from where I work in a school in a rural area where there is no public transport.
