Ordered two cherry trees earlier this year. When they arrived and I unboxed them, the trees both had new growth on them, but the roots were covered in a gel that smelled strongly of ammonia. I rinsed the roots with fresh water and planted them in good soil. Within a week, both trees were dead. I tried to get a refund through their warrantee system and never heard back from them. Biggest scam I have ever dealt with. Do not recommend! They sell overpriced dead twigs and will only give you a credit if it does not survive. If you use their credit to replace the first dead twig you are out of luck if the replacement twig dies. I ended up this way, with two dead twigs and they actually told me that I received 2 (trees) dead twigs for the price of one! What a joke and I am out $100. Do not ever buy from this company. They claim to sell mature trees and plants all with a guarantee! I ordered 7-8 trees and twigs showed up that were only 4-5 ft tall. I would give them a zero for their proct delivery and for their customer service .in April I ordered and received a 6-7 ,ft persimmons tree for zone 7 in nj . It arrived in a box with a bare tree tightly wrapped in plastic. It had wilted. For the past 2onths now I've been trying to save but it looks like a lost cause. Today I get a response from ty ty about replacing it claiming that tjos tree is not for this zone and for that reason won't be replaced. My trees arrived today and they look like wilted sad Charlie Brown Christmas trees and 3 weren't labeled and "not" 7-8 feet in height. Our local stores have heartier trees for $40, there is no way these 4 trees smushed in that torn up box with broken branches is worth $400. We need to discuss a credit. I put a substantial budget into my lawn and have ordered trees before from other companies and these are not top of the line trees, not to mention they're crooked. I ordered 2 blueberry plants, a dormant golden Dorsett and a pomegranate. They shipped within 2 days and just arrived. All look great. They are all larger than expected and were VERY well packed. Having purchased trees and blueberry bushes locally i feel like these are a good price for the sizes received. I am planting tomorrow. Hopefully my Golden Dorsett Apple wakes up but 1/3 of trees planted just don't take. You can do everything right and they still don't do well. I had 2 good size oak trees professionally planted last year and I learned a lot about how to give them the best chance of success from the tree team. I have heard mixed reviews on Ty Ty but like everything else on the internet, you have to consider the source. I've seen some ridiculous posts....people not opening the box for 2 weeks then complaining the plants are dead. Or opening them and just leaving them bare root sitting in the sun for a couple days before planting and demanding refunds because they died. Part of success is LUCK but a bigger part is finding out how to care for and plant your newly purchased plants and trees BEFORE they arrive. I may be one of the few that understands operator error is not the sellers fault. A majority of the bad reviews seem to have a glaringly obvious reason their plant failed or they are unhappy. Not reading descriptions appears to be prominent one too. Do people really think they are buying a 8-12ft tree for $30?? Again operator error. The Worst Online Shopping Experience Ever Tytyga.com is a scam! I bought a black bamboo plant from this outfit in October 2023, presumably with a one-year replacement guarantee. The plant arrived obviously dead and I provided several photos to prove it. I was then made to wait until June 2024 to send them yet another photo as proof that it had still shown no single sign of life, only to be told that I would have to wait until October 2024,a full.year after I received the dead piece of whatever it was for a replacement. Be forewarned before you buy from them. Look at all the 1 Star reviews. Look at the BBB claims. First off, they have a very high shipping cost for their trees. I realize shipping a bulky item (not a heavy item) is not cheap, but as someone that ships a lot of large items, they are charging well over a reasonable price to ship these trees. I have bought 6 or 7 bare root trees from them over past two years and all look okay upon arrival. However, bare root trees are very susceptible to dying regardless of how well you handle the planting, and much depends on them properly packaging and protecting the roots (which may or may not be done well). All but 2 of the trees I have bought from them have died. While I understand they cannot prevent a plant dying, they do have a plant assurance warranty to cover a plant that does not survive. Their warranty policy is very poor (or at least their company policy is poor) and customer service is marginal. They are doing everything they can to ensure they loose a customer. At best, it is very difficult to get a claim filed and for TyTy to act on it. Don't expect a response the first or second time, and then expect to wait until they finish shipping items for the year (end of June) before they act. If they issue a warranty gift card (they won't refund your money) then it is only good for a one time use. That sounds reasonable, unless you use that credit to buy a replacement tree and it also dies. Well in that case you are out of luck because you won't get a credit for the second tree that also died; you're just out the money for the second dead tree and your shipping costs (again). This last time I spent over $77 for just the two trees and get a credit of just over $48 because I used a prior warranty credit to buy these replacement trees that both died. Additionally I'm out the $20 initial shipping and another shipping cost when the credit gets used. I'll never use TyTy again once this credit get used. Be forewarned. read more

I was skeptical of ordering live trees through the mail without the opportunity to see them in person first, but I took a chance and was disappointed. I spent over $300 for three 5-6' trees. Upon arrival, two trees were badly curved and one was short. I contacted TyTy for help and was told that my bent trees were perfectly healthy and just needed to be staked. One of these trees was bent about 30 degrees within the first 6" at the ground, something that no amount of staking will solve. My only solution would be to plant the tree on an angle and hope it straightens itself over several years. As for the short tree, TyTy refunded the price difference between sizes. This is frustrating! If I wanted to save $30 I would have ordered the shorter tree in the first place! Given the expense of the trees plus shipping I had hoped there would have been some type of quality control, but apparently this is not the case - three trees, each one with a deficiency. I would give this place zero stars if possible. I bought a 5-6' persimmon tree in April. When it arrived, the top of the box had been crushed. I immediately alerted Tytyga to the situation. I was told to wait a month or to to see if it would grow. I had to take pictures of a scraping near the root to show them. I did it and it showed it was not green (which indicates it is alive). Nevertheless, I planted it and cared for the stick (it wasn't a tree). Now all they do is give a store credit. Meanwhile, optimum planting season for this particular tree in this zone has passed. After a month with a dead plant sitting in a pot, I was told that I could apply for their insurance which would give me a credit at the nursery -- not covering shipping. This is company is not well organized and does some shady business. I ordered a specific variety of two 8 feet plum trees and got completely different plum trees. One of them had some fruits 2 years later. The trees were not cheap because they were 8-feet trees. When I contacted Ty Ty Nursery now, I got no response. I think it's a common practice for them to send whatever fruit trees they have (of similar variety you order), just to get the money since they know there is nothing you can do after a return time window runs out.
