There are tables outside both doors, so you can sit outside in the summer (or in the winter if you need to smoke!) The service is friendly and pretty quick. Prices are reasonable, and the menu is standard coffee shop fare - sandwhiches, panninnis etc. There are some lovely homemade soups on at the moment, which make a nice change for a winter lunchtime. They also have pies and other specials on at the mo. After trying most of the bridgend coffee shops during a lunchbreak Bauhaus ranks as one of the best in Bridgend. It's nice that independent coffee shops are still going strong in Bridgend - you definately get more friendly service here than in a typical chain coffee place.

There are only a few tables, and they are tightly packed in - but in this atmosphere they fit well and you don't feel uncomfortable. There are two or three benches 'outside' - which is actually inside the arcade, so still warm and covered. The food served is fairly plain and basic - the usual cafe staples - such as sandwhiches, backed potatoes. Best of all though are the homemade cakes and desserts. There is a good choice every day - and they always look (and taste) yummy. Good value - but sometimes too busy to get a table at lunchtime.

A few weeks after the renovation I went for lunch and discovered the true beauty of the fabulous menu offered in Aroma. The desert menu is my favourite part, offering a tempting selection of homemade pastries and delicious cakes I could have made my way through the whole of the desert cabinet! Aroma is also ideal to grab a quick cappuccino or latte to go while you browse the shopping streets of Bridgend. I have yet to go and try the evening menu, but am looking forward to heading back and trying anything they have to offer, reasonably priced and very friendly, relaxed atmosphere with a superb smell of freshly brewing coffee as you enter!
