I came back again few weeks later, with intention to ask questions, but Sifu asked me to join the group and participate in the free workout that night. I joined the gym after the class. Now I really enjoy coming to class because I always learned something new and both the students & instructors are super nice & helpful. Sometimes, work & other thing in life got in the way to prevent me from getting to class, but I try to make it the best I can. I highly recommend Seven Star Gym for everyone who wants to get a great workout, learn self defense techniques, and be a part of this Kung Fu family. Dan and team here in Holly Springs are great at mixing up the exercises and keeping you motivated. Having trouble with something or can't complete the exercise because of mobility or pain? They'll come up with a modified version that keeps you moving, but lessens the stress. What I like about 9Round is it mixes that muscle confusion with kickboxing actions, so unlike the old punching and kicking air of the past, you're making full contact with heavy bags and speed bags so your body feels it all. But my experience was after signing up for a free class someone contacts me via text. They are asking some questions just general and seeing if I had questions so seemed off to a decent start. When I arrive for the class. They immediately wanted my id and some fitness background information as I went to wrap and put on my gloves they said I couldn't wear my own gloves. I had to wear 9round gloves. So I get told that they would do a loaner pair today for me to take the class and then when we were done if I signed up they would "give me my own with my sign up" the way this was worded was exactly like that. . Well there is not any type of stretch we just jump onto the first station as you guessed there are 9. It's just flowing through each station hiit style. I much prefer bag and partner work. Anyway at station 8 my legs were cramping and I was told I could stretch after .. After it was immediately time to try to sign me up on the spot not stretch. First of all the gloves that I was told I'd be "given" w my sign up actually cost $150- but $75 if I signed up right then and there. The overall pricing is high and it's not really worth the money imo. Following the class I got a text from the original girl who I had been communicating with and was there at the time of my class which was fine. Following that I got a text from someone else who works there who wasn't there telling me how great I did etc.. (weird) and then after that another msg using someone's " ring name" It's an overpriced cardio class for people who want to box but not really. It's not form/skill oriented but if you're solely looking to switch it up and drop some weight it would probably be okay for you.
