I wouldn't allow these people to take out my garbage. The final bill for our local move was almost three times the estimate; a number of pieces of furniture were scratched, dented, or otherwise damaged, and one piece of furniture actually had a piece missing which we never recovered; and several boxes clearly marked "Do not stack" had as many as four heavy boxes of books stacked on top of them, with predictable breakage and damage to the contents. Boxes clearly marked according to the room they were to go in were simply dumped in piles in the room closest to the door; the same was done with furniture, clearly marked as to the room it should be in. The living room was filled with everything from couches and lamps to beds and dressers, and the beds were so completely surrounded by furniture and boxes when the movers finally left at 9:30 p.m. that we ended up spending the first night in a hotel. We made a claim for damages to furniture, as well as to recover the 10% discount for cash which had not been deducted, and after excuses and delays an offer was made for a sum that didn't even come close to covering the damages, but we accepted it to have this over and done with. Over a month later we are still waiting for that cheque, which was promised within "5-10 business days". We've been given every excuse in the book, from claims agents being ill to Canada Post having delayed delivery or lost the letter containing the cheque. I am giving them one more week before I take this to Small Claims Court. Their most recent communication says that "the cheque is in the mail", which I always thought was just the punch-line to a bad joke Maybe that's appropriate, since as professional movers, these people are exactly that: a bad joke, and a costly one. read more

This company came to my rescue when the original moving company did not show up; the two men worked tirelessly until very late in the evening and I was so appreciative. Although I had allocated a certain amount of money for the moving company, I was shocked but not surprised at the cost at the end. I understand where the time was consumed but went over at least $300 worth of it. They are great at being careful with my items, plastic wrapping most of the furniture and securing it all with ropes and bungie cords to the insides of the truck but it took so much of the time. I wish I would have been more assertive that my ordinary furniture didn't warrant so much care but they insisted that it was what they do for their customers. So in the end, I had two wonderful and friendly guys that I would definitely hire again, protected furniture but an empty bank account; I didn't even have anything left to tip them with. I've unfortunately had to deal with several moving companies in the past few years, but I was fortunate to finally discover this gem of a moving company! They are by far the most friendly, professional, fast and reasonably-priced option I have found! Their arrival was slightly delayed due to some tech issues, but Greg was so communicative at every point and I felt totally kept in the loop about what was happening. Once they arrived, things went so smoothly, they managed to load the truck in 45 minutes (!!) and were so courteous and friendly the entire time, which is even more impressive because it was a 3-floor walk-up at both locations! Despite this, they made quick work of efficiently and carefully unloading all my belongings. They came through with such high quality service, I was honestly quite impressed. I had never booked a moving company before, and I had always heard horror stories about broken items and unprofessional service... I can absolutely assure you that my experience with Two Small Men was nothing like that at all. Right from the get-go, I found Candace and Damon to be energetic, professional, and enthusiastic about my move. Moving is always a very stressful time for everyone, but Candace was able to be calming and professional. The two even helped co-ordinate my elevators and doors without me even needing to go down or explain the move to them. They were just THAT awesome. This company really has its act together. Every moment from the initial booking till the time the movers left was incredible! I called to make a booking which reached a dispatch in Calgary and they took down all my information and created my profile to set the move up. The movers that came on moving day were EXCEPTIONALLY exceptional. No room for improvement with these guys. Dennis, the driver, and his assistant Mark were the most amazing movers. On top of their moving skills, their demeanors, customer service skills, manners, and general state of being were top notch for their young ages. The whole experience was so gratifying, the last thing I looked at it was the time. These guys were top notch mascots for this company and hope Two Small Men do whatever it takes to keep them! The actual movers, Candace and Grey, were excellent. Friendly and professional. Would be 5 stars if I only was rating them. 1 star off because before the move, I asked someone on the phone about any items being damaged and how that was dealt with and told straight up that it would be covered. On the day of the move however, we found out that items are only covered up to $0.60 per pound. Or you can pay $100 more to have coverage up to $5 per pound. So if an item is damaged, they weigh it, and give you that much money. Wish I would have been told that upfront. No idea if this is a standard insurance policy for all moving companies, maybe it is? Anyhow, a manager immediately followed up with me after I expressed my concerns through their email survey. Besides the insurance policy stuff, everything else went great. On April 9th we had Grey Owl and Candace move us from St. Anne MB to Winnipeg . We were so very impressed with them. They were polite and extremely hard workers. They worked non stop and at an amazing pace. They did not even stop to eat. The new house had carpets and they made sure to cover everything with runners and mats.They were very professional and I would recommend them 100%. A big thank you to them both for the great work they did for us.They even placed the furniture for us.Thanks again and would recommend them to anyone looking for good workers and service. P.S. Absolutely terrible! They took WAY too long to move my furnature just so I had to pay more per hour. They also damaged a bunch of our furniture - even dropping a dresser on the stairs and damaging it while I watched. They took no responsibility for the damage and would not help out one bit. After more phone calls then anyone has time for and months of "we'll give you money", we took them to small claims court. They didnt show up, insteas they "closed" down the company (they keep filing bankruptcy then reopening the company under someone else's name and a new business number). Please do not support this company! One mover even cased my house and I had to file a police report. If I could give them no stars, I definitely would. read more

Dennis, Kevin and Jeff were absolutely fantastic. Very friendly, worked very hard, very careful not to damage any of my belongings, helped rearrange things without hesitation and didn't complain about moving my stuff from a 2nd story walk up to a 3rd story walk up. They were joined by Cam and Jordan to help a little later during the move. Sam was great at coordinating everything and very friendly to deal with. Thanks to all involved. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because it cost a lot more than originally estimated, I was a little surprised about the extra $100 for the 'overweight' charge for my dresser. This moving company went above and beyond! After getting a bit discouraged with the first moving company we hired, because they could not move upstairs our vintage dresser weighing well above 360lbs. Two small men with big hearts, not only arrived on time, with a phone call before their arrival. They moved our dresser VERY swiftly and NO complaints. Fantastic service, and excellent movers. Our multi day move had a lot of logistical issues, but Sam the dispatcher immediately put us at ease and told us that everything would be taken care of. I can't overstate how much he helped us. Colin the crew chief was equally impressive, very polite and professional, and super friendly too. He took care of everything for us and turned what was initially a stressful situation for us into a calm, relaxed move. The guys were organized, timely and efficient. They were always looking out for our things and they communicated with eachother very well. They packed our whole 1400 sq foot home and finished basement into their truck in 3.5 hours. They were respectful of the homes and maintained cleanliness as best they could (it was snowy out). they respected Covid public health orders at all times. Quote was on par with actual charge. Both guys were very friendly, respectful and professional. The building we were moving from had an elevator breakdown days prior to our move and we were not able to reserve an elevator for our move. The guys were great and accommodated us, no sweat. Then when we arrived to the new building we found out they had painted both side of our hallway to the apartment moments before our arrival (why just why) the guys were great and worked harder to accommodate wet paint on either side of the hall and protect our furniture. Although our move had a few hiccups (the moving truck had mechanical problems, delaying our move; we lost some pins for a curio cabinet because the plastic bag they were in got torn during the move), the company compensated us by putting an extra mover on the first part of the move at no additional charge. I had a small amount of bigger items to move. The guys arrived on time, with a heads up phone call. They were chatty & friendly the whole time. Did a walk through after loading to make sure all items were on the truck. Upon arrival at my new place, it was determined that there was no way my couch would fit where I needed it to go. I asked if they could bring it back to my old residence, & after a quick phone call, it was done! Quick response to phone calls and emails. Was able to book a moving date easily. Were very accommodating with local move with multiple destination addresses. Billy and Anthony were right on time, courteous, efficient. Everything went smoothly with not a single glitch.
