Bushwacker begun back in 1982 six years before the modern Fair Trade movement was formally established and when the current organic food sector was still a twinkle in an environmentalist's eye. The store is homely and the shelves are stacked with an impressive variety of high-end produce. Amazing Dijon mustard and beautifully produced chocolates sit alongside their sugar-free breakfast cereals. Bags of exotic dried fruits, rustic breads, and jars of delicious rainforest honey line up next to dairy products and a wide array of teas, coffees, lentils, split peas, fresh fruit and vegetables. And above all, these wont cost an arm for a leg. I support small retail business that in turn care about suppliers committed to looking after their workers, their livestock and their land, and who work with the underlying nature of things.

Since there aren't many shops like this in the area, I'll give it 3 stars. The stalls include a spit roast pig stall (pork and lamb are on offer here), ethiopian food, moroccan food, thai food and, interestingly, they even have filipino food. The longest lines always seem to be at the roast pig stall and the thai/filipino food stall. Because I'm normally caught up in getting my lunch I haven't paid much attention to fresh produce on offer but mainly I've noted things like cheeses, baked goods, some fruits and veges. Its not a big market but worth a visit if you're in the area around lunch time on a Thursday.
