About a year ago I had some problems with mildew growing in my shower and a few other things. I left them a note and all was fixed. We are a family of a four and we homeschool which means we are home a lot. Our house is lived in, hence why I have weekly cleanings. A Clean Finish By Dawn has grown a lot in the last two years and their clientele has changed too. Until the last few months they never missed a day. However, in the last three months they have missed once per month. I began to think that perhaps I was being sent a message that they no longer want to clean for me. I dismissed the thought as I didn't think Dawn would do that without any notice. Had they wanted to not clean for me anymore I would have thought they would just say something. I can't make them stay. Dawn and Vicky were scheduled to clean my house this Thursday. I can home shortly after they arrived. I told Dawn I wanted to talk to her about my master bathroom cleaning. I told her the last time they were here the tub had not been cleaned at all and the dust was piling up on my shower wall. I also told her that when I changed the sheets last week in my son's room that there were a pile of books that had slid between his bed and the wall. Dawn and Vicky normally change sheets for us. I wanted her to simply move shampoo bottles and clean under them, wipe down the shower and bath tiles and to pick up any miscellaneous items that had fallen between the bed and wall. To my shock she told me that she thinks they do a good job cleaning my house and if I don't think so I should find a new cleaner. I explained that I didn't want to do that I just wanted to have these few things addressed. Vicky came into the room and Dawn told her that I thought they were not doing a good job. (Which I never said) so they decided it was best for them for leave. I repeatedly told them I want to work with them. They decided that they would be leaving without finishing cleaning my house. I asked them to please clean for that day and if they no longer wanted to after that I would find someone else. Dawn told me "why would we clean if you're not going to be happy with it?" Put my vacuum in the closet and walked out. I'm still in shock! As I said there clientele has changed to much larger homes with only two residents. While these 7000 square foot homes are large they are much easier than my home with all rooms being used. Kids add another dimension that requires more cleaning. About three months ago Dawn had told me that one of her original clients was complaining about cleaning and that Dawn thought the issue was more that the client didn't want to Vicky cleaning as Dawn had always done it herself. She also said the woman only paid her X amount per week and that was not enough so if she left that would be ok with Dawn. At that time I asked her if we needed to renegotiate what we were paying Dawn. She said no we were fine. I paid $90 a week under the table. Bottom line, yes they do a great job cleaning but if you need something tweaked don't ask or they may just leave. Loyalty is a thing of the past. Also, nothing ever went missing from my house.. Dawn had access to a key for my house and alarm code.
