Two Coves Community Garden is one of Astoria's hidden gems. The garden is beautifully maintained by a dedicated community of members who put an incredible amount of care into their plots. The perimeter plots are reserved for members, but there is also a volunteer-led community gardening area in the center where volunteers work together to grow an impressive variety of flowers, plants, fruits, and vegetables.
What makes this place special is not just the beautiful gardens, but the sense of community. It's a peaceful oasis in the middle of the neighborhood and a wonderful place to relax, take a stroll, and admire all of the hard work that goes into maintaining it.
If you're interested in getting involved, the garden typically hosts volunteer days once or twice a week and is always happy to welcome new volunteers. You can reach out to twocovesgarden@gmail.com for more information.
The garden is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Whether you're a gardening enthusiast or simply looking for a quiet, beautiful place to spend some time outdoors, I highly recommend stopping by and supporting this amazing community space. read more
