If you are passing uptown, I definitely recommend you coming here. Small garden but very nice atmosphere.

Clinton Community Garden is a teaching garden and enables all to hone the importance of growing vegetables, plants and bloom flowers. There are benches for resting and lots of green. Very well maintained. Clinton Community Garden is a great example of a unification of a community and building bridges in working toward a common goal of a healthier environment and healthy living.

Clinton Community Garden is open to the public 20 hours every weekend (10 hours Sat & Sunday). The rest of that time, it is closed off for residents or for those who have key access. Children and residents in this neighborhood does have access 7 days a week (which is fantastic) to learn how to eat healthy, grow their own vegetables, and live a healthy lifestyle. What I like most about the garden is the opportunity for residents in this neighborhood to get out of their apartments, and have a special space to call their very own, whether it be vegetations or to plant beautiful flowers. What an awesome way of team collaboration, and for the young minds to learn nature in the heart of West Side Manhattan!! Brooklyn has numerous gardens stretched throughout the entire borough. However, whenever I'm in Spanish Harlem, I'm close to this garden. Maggie's Magic Garden describes itself as "Wild paradise in El Barrio. Community spirit with community food are all around inclusivity. We live to reclaim and upcycle and connect with our surroundings." That is a truthful description; as it is an "oasis in an urban area". One can truly connect to nature and all the beautiful things it has to offer. I did not know all the wonderful events this beautiful garden hosts.. I plan to check out Crafting in the Garden in the future. This truly special garden worth checking out. Maggie's Magic Garden is located on 1574 Lexington Avenue Check out her Instagram page

It's a great place to rest at the top of the hill on Lexington Avenue! I added this NYC Park to Yelp and I will post the hours. I also messed up the name. It's Maggie's MAGIC Garden. I requested Yelp correct my error and post the hours. The hours say closed Friday but it was open when I was there today! I hope you enjoy visiting this quiet peaceful spot as much as I did today!

Leave Elizabeth Street Garden as is!…read more This garden is an anomaly in a sea of chaos, concrete and brick. ESG isn't refined and doesn't hold pure beauty, there are alot of rustic edges which certainly adds to the charm. In fact to be some of those edges might actually be rust! There is a certain beauty to the old stone work and lack of consistency. There seems to be a constant but muted flow of folks coming and going, to have a quiet break or meet up with a singular friend, or enjoy a sip of coffee. Nobody really stays long which allows for many others to enjoy the garden. Whatever the reasons are for destroying this sanctuary of peace, it should be noted that enough people do care about it, and there are good enough reasons for it to stay. Affordable housing is important as well, but affordable and NYC do not necessarily go hand in hand. The real question is why is it important to take this little patch? There are certainly plenty of other plots to build affordable housing on. Build it elsewhere!

I'm not sure how long it's been here but it appears most of the trees, shrubs and flower beds are fairly mature. Currently, there is a legal battle between the City and residents over the future of the site. The City wants to build some sort of shelter there and of course the residents and the park's benefactors want to keep it. There is a donation jar in the front along with displays telling the history of the garden. Just my opinion the garden should stay. The City owns enough real estate elsewhere to turn something else into a shelter.
