I was happy with my hair as the bride, but unfortunately a lot of my bridesmaids hair was already falling after just being done. Some voiced their concerns, but our hair stylist ultimately was not receptive, and honestly seemed kind of annoyed with them. She packed up without offering touch ups and the girls were fixing each other's hair. We didn't even realize she'd left without covering netting from hair that had fallen, as I was actually in the makeup chair. I'm sure that it gets annoying with people asking for hairstyles that don't work with their hair, or expecting you to make it perfect, but people are paying a lot of money and know they'll be photographed. I think this stylist could go a long way just learning to politely redirect people if they're requesting a style that won't work with their hair. Most people aren't experts, and just want to look pretty and have a style that will last! None of my bridesmaids are picky or rude girls. Ultimately we were able to fix the styles that had fallen, re-curl, and re-spray. So, I'd say that all in all this was a very small negative part of a fantastic day, but obviously when you're paying $$$ for a wedding service and not being unreasonable- you expect a certain level of professionalism and attention to detail. Viva la glam promised that this work ethic would be extended to the bridal party- not just the bride- which was part of why I was initially inclined to book. I am hoping it was just an oversight/ off day for that stylist. I want to end on another positive note and say that Danielle was fabulous to work with and very professional! She was easy to contact and very responsive.

I had read great things about Twirl so I decided to contact them to book my next haircut. I was okay with my current stylist, but not super satisfied- it was time for a change! Getting an appointment at Twirl was a process, especially because of the holiday hassle. But once I was booked, they sent me confirmation texts and emails to remind me of my appointment very often, which was nice. They are located inside one of the small studios at Blue Star. I hadn't been to Blue Star in a while so it took me about 10 minutes to find the salon. Once there, I met my stylist, Olivia. She is sweet, attentive, personable, and very talented. She took the time to listen to my expectations and what I wanted from my haircut. About 45 minutes later, my hair looked fabulous!! Most of the time, ANY stylist can make your hair look great the day of your haircut- because they have the time and expertise to style it, instead of styling it yourself with your own products and tools. So the real test was the morning after, after my shower. I went through the same exact routine- shampoo, conditioner, towel dry, blow dry, then curling with a flat iron. My hair looked fantastic!!! During my visit to San Antonio, I discovered this fantastic salon through Yelp, primarily because of its proximity to my hotel. Making an appointment online was a breeze, which was especially helpful since I'm not a local. The salon's video showcasing its location was a lifesaver, as it can be a bit tricky to find. Upon entering the salon, I was pleasantly surprised by its interior - a unique and captivating decor that instantly caught my attention. Moreover, they had high-end products like Oribe, which I personally use, so that was a big plus. Natalia, my stylist, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I always appreciate it when salons offer drinks, and the delicious coffee they provided added to the experience. Natalia paid close attention to my requests and even asked for photos of the style I desired. She skillfully recreated the look I wanted, leaving my hair looking amazing. What impressed me further was that the style held up for three days without requiring a rewash. Walking out of Twirl salon, I felt confident and ready for my sales conference at my new job, all thanks to Natalia's talent and expertise. Upon first walking in, I felt like Jack Skellington must have when falling into one of those multi-dimensional holiday tree doors in The Nightmare Before Christmas. It is apparent that the owner has put a lot of thought and heart into the making of this salon, and these efforts have not gone to waste on the staff. What a talented and cordial bunch of gals! San Antonio is so lucky to have Lisa Weller and her team of stylists at Twirl! Such a talented, sweet and fun group of women in a cool space at the Blue Star. The initial appointment went well and I was happy with my hair overall, but I noticed afterward that my money piece was uneven. I reached out the very next day to get it fixed, but communication was extremely delayed. It took two days to get a response, and this pattern continued back and forth, making it difficult to schedule a correction. Despite this, we eventually agreed on a time. On the day of the follow-up appointment, I even offered to come earlier if she was available, but received no response. I still showed up early for my scheduled 3:30 appointment, texted to let her know I was there, and got no reply. After waiting over 15 minutes past my appointment time, calling, getting no response, and hearing her with another client, I left as she never acknowledged me. When I requested a partial refund due to the lack of communication and missed appointment, it was denied, and I was blamed for leaving as she expected me to wait even tho she never acknowledged me--even though I waited beyond a typical grace period and made multiple attempts to reach her. And she stated no mistakes were made on her end. Overall, the work itself was decent, but the communication and professionalism were very disappointing, especially when trying to resolve an issue. I would recommend improving response time and client communication.

Recently I decided to get lip filler by Justin & WOW! I wanted more volume to my lips but I didn't want them to look unnatural. Justin was able to do exactly that! The end results are amazing but I'm honestly even more impressed by the process. I would say I have an average pain pain tolerance but I only felt a slight pinch with each injection point.
