The glide was smooth, the spins and flips were exhilarating, and the quiet beauty of the sky was breathtaking. The views over Interlaken valley were beyond imagination, and the snow-capped Alps rising above Lauterbrunnen valley were absolutely stunning. I felt as though I had stepped into a dream, floating with such grace above one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. The experience of paragliding itself was magnificent, and I now wish I had paid to stay in the air even longer. I was extremely lucky to fly with Eva, who is truly an expert. A transplant from Holland, she brings her skill and passion to Interlaken every single day, sometimes gliding the skies up to nine times a day with effortless beauty. My instructor was friendly and reassuring. He told me I could request to do "rollercoasters," which is doing flips/loops in the sky. I said yes, and I got nauseous pretty quickly.

I'm surprised there are no reviews on Yelp, which is where I usually go to look for business reviews. My 8 year old and I flew with Simon and Cyrill, who were both fantastic! These guys are professionals extraordinaire, and I'm so happy we tried this. There are a lot of paragliding companies in the area, but Paragliding Jungfrau came highly recommended, takes off from Top of First, and gave us spectacular views of the Eiger, Jungfrau, Northface, and Aletsch Glacier. It was also easy - from start to finish, it was less than 1.5 hours - 30 minute gondola to the top, 15 mins walking to the take off site and prep, and 20-25 minutes in the air. Views were everything I hoped for (photos don't do it justice. Lauterbrunnen is the place to paraglide if it's your first time! My only hiccup was that I got a little airsick. I had asked for an extended flight time which required a lot of twists and turns to stay in the thermals. Eventually this got to me. If it's your absolute first time paragliding I might suggest the shorter flight unless you're very sure that you won't get motion sickness.

Our guides Zacharias and Matthias were both excellent. They put us at ease, gave us all pertinent safety instructions and took us on an amazing ride. If you want some excitement, have Matthias demonstrate some freestyle paragliding! I almost needed some fresh underwear.. We were picked up from the train station in Luzern and got to enjoy the boat ride back. My highest recommendation when in central Switzerland.

We were in Engelberg for a couple of days and my 14 yo daughter wanted to go paragliding. I had…read morealways wanted to go so what better place to go than in the Alps! I talked to our hotel desk and they called Urs from Freeminds. Even though it was 2pm in the afternoon he was able find time for myself and my two girls (14 and 11yo). Urs and Julio were our guides and were very accomodating. We met them at one of the gondolas and rode to the top where we hiked up a small hill. Julio took my 14yo first. You should have heard her screams of delight as they took flight! Later it was my turn along with my 11yo. Urs took me and Julio took my 11yo. We were both in the air at the same time so I could see her flying which was cool. Sometimes below us and sometimes above us. We all stayed in the air about an hour each. I had a great time with Urs. We flew around one mountain catching the thermals to gain elevation then flew to another mountain where I could see the rugged terrain and high alpine areas. Then we flew over to another mountain where we caught more thermals. I could see another more rugged side of Mr Titlas from this area which was very cool. We then flew back to Engelberg. Urs let me take the controls as we went back! Finally, we did a few tricks right before we landed gently in an open field. What an experience it was!
