I found this barn a couple weeks ago and what a blessing! Ms. Pam and her husband have been very kind and welcoming. Their barn is very well kept and clean. Their property is beautiful with more than ample space for the horses to run, their stalls are all very clean, open for air flow and great size. They seem to have a great lesson program with several young kids (boys and girls) involved on the farm which was so nice to see. One of the arenas is covered with mirrors at one end. They have enough individual paddocks for each individual horse. There is automatic water buckets and fly spray systems. Each border gets their own individual locker. There is a main hall that has a refrigerator, a dining area and a sitting area. For one rate, they will feed, hay, muck out, blanket, give dewormers, bring in and take out to paddocks. They have four dressage trainers on hand. They recently underwent a manager change. The new manager is Willette Brown. The barn owner is Lori Wubker. While they all, very obviously, care for your equine. Be sure to write out, explicitly, how you would like your horse to be treated. Otherwise they will do what they believe is best, which isn't always the case.

My husband's last time on a horse was over 20 years ago at a terrible ranch where his horse took off on his first ride ever. Elaine asked about our experience and when we shared this, she made sure all the horses were good for 3 of us. I asked for one a little spicier and got to ride sassy Lady, a beautiful young thoroughbred-mix. I appreciated the care they took in assessing what would work for us. It's a very casual set-up which was just right for us. The trail is through their beautiful wooded acreage. It was extremely relaxing and a perfect first-time experience for our teens. We had a terrific time and would definitely do this again. We recommend Shenandoah Stables to anyone looking to go horseback riding at a very reasonable expense ($35 per person for a 45 minute ride).

I thought I had found one, but it didn't work out. I came across Star 4 Ranch and took a tour. It is amazing to say the least! It is just a little bit more expensive, but you get so much more for your money! Unlike most of the barns I looked into. Many boarding facilities seem like it is someone's barn, and they are letting you keep your horse there. Star 4 operates like an actual business! They have tons of extra services, at a cost, you can get there ie groom, exercise your horse, lunge your horse and they do riding lessons! It is 2000 acres, gorgeous, has state of the art stalls, premium feed, a fully equipped lounge, yoga studio, and a covered arena! I just wish I had found this place first!
