By the time I was home from work and cleaned up for dinner there was a huge windy thunderstorm. So much for eating on the patio at the GOAT. So we ordered takeout. When I showed up, they said they had never received my order. I showed them my receipt from the online order. It turns out there had been some glitch in their system and my order was missed. Of course this is frustrating, but this is also where the manager Madison really showed her character. She was very kind and apologetic, put our order in on rush and brought it out to my truck when it was ready with a $10 gift card for the inconvenience. She was amazingly polite and friendly and I told her it was no problem. Mistakes happen and they don't need any pressure or judgement from me. Then I got home. When we opened the food we found that all of our waffle fries were missing. Again, a bit frustrating. I called Madison to tell her what happened and she actually sent someone to deliver the fries (along with an extra order of fries). This is above and beyond. I know these young people working in restaurants are dealing with a lot of pressure now that things are opening up again, and the least we can do is be patient when something goes wrong. It was kind of funny that all of these things went wrong on our anniversary... but it worked out in the end thanks to Madison and her crew. The food was great too! TO BE CLEAR: mistakes can happen anywhere anytime. I am very impressed with the professionalism of the goat staff and the lengths they went to in order to set things right.
