The first thing to catch me off guard was the white thug with cornrows and a silver/gold grill, looking up to no good & talking to himself. It sounded like he was picking a fight by himself. He was just pacing around the gas station and the pumps, staring crazy like at everybody. Times like these is why I carry. Anyways, I ignored him & avoided eye contact and he walked away after a few minutes. Now, I walk into the store to grab a snack. On my way in I pass the worker standing right outside the front door smoking a cigarette. Who smokes around gas pumps with gas on the ground? Jesus. She puts it out and eventually comes inside. She tells me she's going to the bathroom real quick and will be with me in just a minute. Again, WTF? After what seemed like eff'n 10 minutes, she comes out and goes to the register. No apology, no hello, nothing. She stares at me and says "Yeah?" I pointed to my drink and chips on the counter and told her we smokes I wanted. She turned around and said "What kind?" I repeated. She then looks and looks and is struggling to find em. Finally, she gets em and brings them over. Slowly & silently rings me up, bagging each item individually after ringing it. She says my total and I say I'm paying with a debit card. I do everything and the screen says "Waiting on cashier." After a minute I to her it was waiting on her. She was like "Oh." I get my stuff, receipt missing of course. Whatever, I tell her to have a good day and she said "Yeah." I mean damn, can u be anymore anti-social. All in all, it took damn near 15 minutes from walking in to walking out. Crazy people working there with no interest in you. Beware!

This makes them especially useful for topping off your rental car before bringing it back to the airport. This Racetrac was easy enough to get into, wide pump area and a working receipt printer. Getting back onto Donelson and headed back to the airport was okay enough in light traffic. In thicker traffic, you might want to drive another block so that you can use the traffic light to make a left and then a u-turn.

I was making a huge mess at the cold drink machine. I know that I was gonna irritate the people that worked in the store. I was so apologetic but these beautiful angels assisted me, while I was in the store, and made certain that I made it to my vehicle without hurting myself any further certain, because I wasn't 100% stable on my left knee. They were so happy to be of assistance and they took pride in their jobs. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. These two young ladies excelled in customer service. I would recommend them have their own store.. good employees are hard to find and you all got two diamonds in one store. Thank you, Mapco for hiring these beautiful angels. I was down when I went in the store and by the time I left, I was so uplifted, and I felt great.. keep up the good work Deanna and Regina your hard work does not go unnoticed. However, this location is a great Thorntons location that may have salvaged the brand as a whole for me! This location is well maintained, clean, organized, well stocked and has some of the cheapest gas prices in the metro area! Service was spot on as well. The cashier was welcoming and helpful from entry to exit. I am not on this side of town too often, but I am glad I know this Thorntons exists...as I will certainly be back!
