I would not go here if you are allergic to Bee stings. Today I went in to get my daily routine drink, literally I go to this gas station daily so i notice a lot of little things. Today I noticed Bees swarming the entrance to the establishment right next to the garbage can. When I went inside I told the female attendant with piercings all over her face that this could be harmful to people allergic to Bee stings, her reply and I quote "not my problems that's belongs to Thorntons not me". I guess thorntons does not pay her bills from what it looks like. Not to be harmful to anyone but that's not a reply you give or initiative you take when a customer warns you of a dangerous possibility that could cause bodily harm to other customers. If she even said that she was busy to deal with it in the moment I would have offered to take out the trash and do her job, but from the looks of it she was too comfortable to step out her comfort zone and do her job fully besides the register. The establishment itself deserves a 5 star rating but some of the employees really don't care and the ones who notice realize that they have options across 3 other gas stations withing a half mile radius. Man... I don't care to review often, but this deserves a heads up. I'm a local and use this gas station more than any other I go to. But, I don't think there is anywhere else I've been where I'm constantly approached by homeless and panhandlers. If you're willing to deal with someone coming up to you just about every time you are there, then this place is fine. But I work downtown and don't even feel like I get approached as often as I do here. I guess if I were employed here too, I wouldn't bother to deal with them either though. Just sad. read more

What the heck am I doing reviewing a gas station? Have I finally lost my mind? Truth be told, reviewing a gas station calls for one of two things: a warning for the worst hole ever, or a glowing review of what defines greatness in a place, and Thornton's on Stewart's Ferry Pike is so great, after months of consideration and great experience after great experience, I had the epitome of service, and I can hold back no longer. To begin with, they ALWAYS have good prices: generally not as low as some of the cheaper stuff in hermitage, but still really decent. Second, they've got a great deal (all Thornton's do) of 89 cents for any fountain drinks, and if you get a Thornton's Card, every sixth soda is free. They advertise clean bathrooms, and they clearly mean it, because the men's room is always in good shape. On top of that, they have an ATM with no fees. NO FEES! The final cool thing is that you can tell that they care about their customers. They interact with you, they look out for you, and they go out their way for you. I love this place. If you're east of town and you need a good experience, Thornton's will do it for you! EPIC WIN! read more

Thornton's is a very popular gas station in this area. I used to be a regular at this location until recently. First off, I drink sodas like it's the last drink on earth. I do like that fact that they have 89 cent sodas with the key card that gives you the 6th one for free. BUT, someone in the staff needs to go across the street to the Dailys and taste test ALL of their sodas. THAT"S THE WAY IT"S SUPPOSE TO TASTE!!! I don't know what it is that makes their sodas taste like pure water, but they need to fix that! Secondly, I don't like that fact everything is crammed in one lot. Their parking spaces are basically one car length from the gas pumps. So parking or getting gas is going to be a problem if it's during the summer when everyone's trying to get to the lake. Be careful driving in and out because you will have a fender bender if you're not paying attention. Other than that, this Thornton's location gives you everything you need that every other Thornton's has. Good coffee, clean bathrooms and a excellent staff. Go at night when it's less busy. Your gas station/convenient store experience will be a lot better than going during the day when half of Donelson is there. read more

The bathrooms looks like a HORROR SCENE SMH. When I form the clerks who was working the evening shift about the cleanliness; he replied to me and said that that's just the way that all the bathrooms looked in the Thorntons while laughing. However I didn't find how nasty the bathrooms were funny at all. read more

I LOVE Thornton's! I never thought I would say they about a gas station, but it's true. They always have good music playing, the store is always clean, gas prices are always lower than other places, AND in the fall they have the BEST Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino I have ever tasted...... for $.89!!! Right now they have Sugar Cookie Cappuccino and it is pretty awesome, too! You can also get a key card that allows you a free fountain drink or coffee after purchasing 5 (or 6?). The only complaint I have is the parking lot at the Stewart's Ferry location. It's small and always crowded and it's kinda hard to maneuver through the pumps and the parking spaces. read more

Got gas there yesterday. Panhandlers and homeless people living behind the building. One wanted to sell me a floor jack he was carrying from customer to customer. I said no. Apparently he didn't like my answer. While I was inside he dented the back of my car with it! Went back last night and four Metro cops parked behind it and walked around both sides of the building looking for something or some one. Dangerous place, don't stop here. read more

I really normally get super customer service from all Thornton's. I stop to get gas here and Store Manager(African American Male) was very rude. I scan my credit card and was waiting for a receipt. He looked at me and ask me sarcastically "Are you looking for a receipt or something " I said Yes" He relunlantly gave me the receipt. I ask him don't he normally ask if you want a receipt. "He said he doesn't ask if the customer wants a receipt". Very unprofessional especially for a store manager. FYI: I'm African American myself. Great prices for basic gas! There are a ton of drink options that are nice and cheap. They also have a free card that allows you to get every 7th drink free. Gas quality of Thornton's is basic. If you have a performance vehicle, or are concerned with keeping carbon buildup in your engine down; then go elsewhere for your fuel. read more

I usually just go here for the cheap gas or free ATM. I have a Thornton's rewards card so I get a free drink or something like that every once in a while which will cause me to go inside. Never had a bad experience or anything and their prices are on par with everyone else's, I just go somewhere a little closer if I need something. Their gas however is the cheapest around. The free ATM is a nice perk as well and a good way to draw in customers. That thing always has a line. The entire place inside & out is maintained fairly well. I don't think I've ever seen it nasty or trashed like some gas stations get. If only it were a little closer.... read more

They were over priced, limited options, and I'm so frustrated I'm reviewing a gas station when I've never reviewed anything in my life. Best gas station ever. I can't believe I actually have fun going to a gas station. The staff is amazing, and you would think they owned the place with how they keep it up. FREE STOK espresso shots for my coffee are you kidding me? Keep it coming. Rarely you see a great gas station market w/ the prices to match, but Thornton's is the exception to the rule. They always have some awesome promos going on, and staff is eager and ready to assist you. They've gave me a few good laughs. Good work. read more
