For my son's first photoshoot I found Alicia on yelp and realized she did my god daughter's pictures that came out soo cute! And luckily enough she had time to squeeze me in before Christmas! First off she's so nice. She responds back promptly and even if she can't fully answer she will at least let you know you haven't been forgotten. Her prices are great and your getting really good quality photos. My son's session was in her studio aka living room on Schofield. It's small so if you have a large group it might get crowded but for my little 1 1/2 year old it was perfect. She has awesome backdrops and props and worked really well with my son who wasn't in the most cooperative mood lol (and shit his pants 10 min in Haha smh) I was also super late because of a mistake on my part but she still took me and managed to get some AMAZING shots. I got my sneak peak the next day and because we did a mini session I got the photos a few days after. The short of it: Book her! You won't be disappointed! The long of it: I am very picky about photos. I wanted my pregnancy, labor, and newborn photos to be timeless, classic, and more journalistic than posed. I didn't want pictures that you would look at and know they were taken in 2014. You know, like my baby pictures from the 80's...the ones with the wooden bench, the astroturf, the fake poppies in the background and the huge closeup of my face hovering ominously over my head. You look at pictures like that and you just know they were taken in the 80's! I loved Alicia's maternity, labor, and newborn photos, so I booked all three sessions with her. A few weeks before I was supposed to do my maternity shoot, I ended up having an emergency c-section and delivering my little guy 11 weeks early. A few days after that, I let Alicia know what was going on, and she was so kind and understanding about it. She was also patient with us regarding the scheduling - when you have a preemie, they go straight to the NICU, and there is no firm timeline regarding their release. We obviously didn't get to do our maternity or labor shoot, but I was very excited about our newborn shoot. By the time our son was discharged from the NICU, he was already 7 weeks old, he was well past the sleepy 10 day window. Even though Alicia was booked solid with other photo shoots, her own vow renewal and family in town, she squeezed us in as quickly as she could before Ben got any bigger (he was just 4lbs, and we really wanted to capture his tininess). Unfortunately the day of the shoot, Ben was incredibly fussy and had a sore tummy. We were only able to get a few shots in. Alicia was so understanding and kind about it - she scheduled a follow-up session the following week for no additional fee. It was very kind of her, and one of the reasons I feel completely comfortable referring her to my friends and family. The follow-up shoot went great, and we got some really beautiful shots that we will cherish forever. She was incredibly patient, putting my husband, myself, and our baby at ease. She was friendly and kind, and we really enjoyed our session. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous, the shots were perfect and the editing put all of us in our best light. I love that she gives you the photos for you to print as you please. So many places require you to purchase prints from them at ridiculous prices, and some won't ever give you a release so that you're forced to continue to buy from them. The only downside is that her husband is in the military, which means she probably won't be in Hawaii forever. That means I need to cracking on our next baby asap! I can't recommend her enough, and I can't wait until our next session! read more

I have left a review on another review site but seeing as there are people that have decided to bash Alicia on here and tell her to "take it in stride" I feel like I should add a review that represents who Alicia really is. Alicia photographed my daughter and also did family pictures for us. The pictures turned out so awesome that it is the center piece in my living room! She was a excellent and knowledgeable photographer that took her time to make sure that the pictures that she took had good lighting and was of the best quality. She was always professional and made everyone feel at ease, even my shy son. It is amazing that someone is mad that she wouldn't reschedule when she is completely booked...and I am guessing for a good reason!!! Maybe because she produces beautiful pictures! I don't write reviews often, but people need to know that this photographer is AMAZING! Alicia lives in Ewa and said we can go anywhere you want to take your maternity photos. The first place I thought about was Makai (Makapu'u) Pier. Yes, she drove all the way to the other side of the island for us, at 6 am! She asked if I wanted to do a sunrise or sunset shoot and we chose sunrise. Yes, she woke up early and met us at 6 for a sunrise shoot. When we got to the pier it was raining. I thought for sure we were only going to be able to take pics under the pier. We didn't we were able to utilize the beach, and the pier. I thought I was going to get back ok photos especially with the rain. Nothing could have prepared me for the photos I received. I was blown away. I worked as a makeup artist with a few photographers before and I could not believe the quality of the pics she got in the rain and cloudy weather. Our maternity photos were phenomenal and I cannot wait for our little one to arrive so she can take his pics as well. read more

It is so unfortunate that Alicia has a couple of bad reviews on here bringing her overall rating down because she was an absolute professional and a HUGE pleasure to work with! And the quality of her work? BEAUTIFUL! We thought we were well ahead of time for our 9:45am 6 month mini shoot but turns out we were in the wrong spot. DO NOT USE THE MAP NAVIGATION FROM YELP! It takes you to her old address. Once we knew we would be late I immediately called her and Alicia was nothing but understanding and helpful given her tight holiday shooting schedule. When we finally made it there, Alicia fit us right in (because she has a buffer time between appointments). She was nothing but professional. She reassured us that things happen and was nothing but kind. She worked quick and engaged my daughter the entire time. She really took charge of the shoot and matched my daughters outfits to the backgrounds. Even though we were lost (and late) we managed to get 3 outfit changes and 3 backgrounds out of our mini session. Even with her extensive shooting schedule for the holiday session, we received our pics within a week and they are exceptional! Definitely booking her again and will be doing so after I post this review. I think I'll go for a full shoot next time. If she was able to do that many looks in 30 minutes I know I will be even more thrilled with what we will get from a full session! Many friends have asked for her contact information after seeing our pictures. She communicated very well all the needs and expectations required to produce a smooth photo shoot. She arrived before and set up a beautiful photo drop and made it very easy to just arrive and immediately take pictures of the children. She was very patient and gentle with the children which put me at ease. She then came to my home at my convenience so I could select pictures and then returned to hang them! While I'm quite sure Alicia's services for most is quite positive and impressionable, my family and I were quite dissatisfied with several aspects of our experience. -The level of professionalism lacks to be called a successful small business. Case in point: Alicia was late for our designated appointment, her house which she uses as her studio was filthy, and the overall feel of the atmosphere felt like a thrown together business venture, not a real business atmosphere. -The photo shoot was highly rushed and thrown together, demonstrated by our patience as Alicia put her background and scene together. The room was hot and muggy, and our daughter was extremely uncomfortable, thus making the photo shoot more difficult. -The quality of the pictures were great, however the poses captured were sub par at best, even to the point where we asked Alicia to remove the photos of our daughter from Facebook. -When given constructive criticism and feedback, we were attacked for our comments, and were told Alicia was 'offended"; she even went as far as to speculate about the validity of our feedback, and made negative comments about the delay in our feedback. -We did respond to Alicia, and gave ample reason for our feedback, but did mention we wanted to give Alicia another chance for a more wholesome outcome. Alicia never responded from that point, and when we wrote informing her of our decision to move on, she again attacked our feedback and decision. -Alicia seems to produce quality products in the perfect environment, but fails to address the necessity of constructive feedback. If her business is to be more than just a hobby, she needs to learn to thrive on negative sessions, as much as positive sessions. This, and only this, will enable her to succeed in the long term. In today's society, there are countless "professional" photographers who add "photography to their name, and if Alicia desires to carry out this hobby into a real profession, learning from mistakes will prove quite beneficial. I hope this review can be taken in stride, and Alicia can learn the value of criticism before it must reach this point. read more

I haven't been doing so well on writing reviews lately but I feel the need to let people know about A Little Love Photography's beautiful work!! When I first found Alicia, I fell in love mostly with her boudoir photos with the couples. I looked at the rest of her work and decided then that I wanted her to capture our memories. We then got pregnant with our second baby and I KNEW I wanted to have her take our maternity photos. I am so over the moon for these pictures!! This is a long overdue review. We had booked and payed a previous photographer for a Labor Session and last minute that photographer went out of town. After desperately seeking a replacement , Alicia came highly recommended by several people. Our Labor session Photography was unbelievable. Alicia was patient, caring, and gave us just the right amount of space to still have an intimate experience. My labor was over 8 hours and she patiently waited, I still feel we couldn't have compensated her enough for this time. I was so please by our Labor session experience and photographs that we ended up booking a newborn session as well. We had the newborn session at her home, which was neatly organized, well light, just the right temperature for a newborn session and you can see how beautiful her work looks as she has canvases of her baby girl displayed on her walls. Unfortunately our baby was colic and Alicia was determined to get us the best shots she could. After two hours of her patiently trying to have the baby photographed, I ended up telling her it was the baby that wasn't cooperating and she suggested we do the shoot at our home. Alicia brought all her amazing, quality and unique props and set up our home as her studio. I can't say it enough of how determined she was to provide us with high quality work, she will stop at no means to completely satisfy her customers. Our baby girl is now 6 months and Alicia has done her timeline photos of 3 and 6 months old and EVERY session has been at her home studio and all have been a remarkable experience. She is VERY personable, loving, professional and artistic. One of the picture of our little girl at 3 months old was even featured On BabyGap facebook page, so trust her when it comes to posing. All in ALL this is a great small business that caters 100% to the customers need and will dedicate their time to making sure you are fully satisfied with their work! While vacationing in Oahu from CA in February, we wanted to get our maternity pictures done and were fortunate to have found Alicia. From the beginning, she was very responsive, accommodating, and professional. In person, she made us feel comfortable and had such a sweet personality. It only took about a week for us to get the final pics, and we were blown away by them. She is a perfectionist, and you can tell she puts her heart and soul into her artwork. We did a family session and my son's 1 year old birthday photos with Alicia on our vacation in Hawaii. We contacted her a couple weeks before we left and she was able to fit us in during the short time we were there. She also helped save me time by recommending a bakery to make a smash cake for my son's photo shoot and offered to pick up the cake on her way to the shoot!!! SOO AWESOME!! My first time going to her was about a month ago to get my kids pictures taken. My son was great, she was great with him and made us all feel comfortable and had so many ideas on what kind of pictures are good for a boy his age, but also listened to what we had to say as well. My daughter on the other hand was not feeling well and Alicia was kind enough to let us reschedule her pictures on another day when she was feeling better. We got there again and my daughter went crazy again. She didn't try to force anything or push us to get moving like other people do. Let me start by saying... a couple of my friends used Alicia for some pictures, none newborn (which is what I booked) but they were pleased and their pictures turned out nicely, so I was fairly confident I would get great pictures and have a good experience. Boy, I couldn't have been more wrong. The night before my session my eldest daughter (who of course I wanted involved in the shoot) had a fever of 103. I texted Alicia to inform her of this and that we may have to reschedule if my daughter doesn't begin to feel better, her response, "I hope not I'm booked solid for the next couple weeks." Now, I don't expect everyone to be as concerned as I am about my child, but a little empathy would have gone a long way. And to not even try to be accommodating (at least not in the response) is ridiculous in my opinion considering we've already paid in full and there is only so long a newborn can be photographed in the newborn window. Needless to say, we went ahead with our original shoot date. We get to her house, which, I can attest to the other reviewer, was not exactly what I expected a house to look like when a business is run out of it (cleanliness.) No big deal, it's not my house, just thought I'd confirm the other reviewers statement. It was extremely hot and muggy in the tiny studio, I get it, electricity is expensive in Hawaii, but when you have clients coming to your home to take pictures, assuming they don't want to be all sweaty in their pictures, I would think you'd keep it comfortable, at least in the studio, where there was a window unit. Alicia was not professional at all with us. She was extremely snotty to us, in the snarky comments she continued to make. For instance, there is a baby gate at the top of the stairs, one like I don't have, I couldn't figure it out right away, and asked my husband to open it, and Alicia said, you have three kids and don't know how to use a baby gate?! Listen, maybe not a big deal, but on top of the already bad impression I got from the night before, this session wasn't starting well. At another point, when we were trying to get pictures of my girls together, my middle child baked up too far while sitting on a backdrop, she accidentally knocked the little base board divider down, no big deal, it isn't connected to anything, just sit it back up..however, Alicia had to have it known it irritated her by grunting and sucking her teeth before she picked it up. Next, when we were getting shots of just my baby she asked if we wanted the patriotic Themed picture...I said no don't worry about it, my husband isn't too big on the whole army is our life thing. She proceeded to give me this disgusted look and say what?! I thought all military people were patriotic?! I don't need to explain, but I didn't say we weren't patriotic. Tone of voice and attitude goes a long way in the way you talk to people..he doesn't seem to understand that. As far as my pictures go, let me start by saying, SOME of my pictures turned out great, but overall I'm disappointed. Out of all the pictures we took, I received one picture of my newborn by herself straight on that I like... the others were not close enough to clearly see her, or just at a weird angle, or posed badly. I was given 26 pictures, only a handful would I have picked myself. I just can't believe out of all the pictures taken, I received the best ones or that I was only given one picture of me and my baby, only one complete family picture. I asked Alicia about a couple in particular and was told I got the best ones of the the lot. Overall, the pictures she takes are good (on her page,) but with my pictures and my experience, I would not recommend her. Since I can't seem to find where to comment back, let me say, that Alicia's comment is complete and utter non truth. I find it funny how Alicia doesn't address any of my specific concerns, yet seems to need to justify her actions. I was not irritable or had anything going on negatively....have you thought I was upset by the way you spoke to me?! We did have discussions once my family left, about children, breastfeeding, your monitor that picks up interference...please don't lie. I never brought up my kids, why did you feel the need to discuss them, bc that had absolutely no bearing on the way you talk to ppl!!! As I commented some of my pictures turned out nice...the two I'm using on my Facebook are the ones i liked...of all my girls together. We had plenty, absolutely plenty of time to capture good shots of my newborn, they just weren't captured apparently. I brought props myself, my favorite picture she is in one of them...another one of my props, the picture where she has it on isn't even worth printing as you can't even see her chin because of the angle or posing. I don't need to justify showing the pictures (the link) on my fb, as all of our family is scattered around the world and they need to see baby, (not to mention the $360 I spent.) Bottom line, learn to talk to ppl! read more

My husband and I have used a professional photographer for family photos once a year since we have been married. When we moved to Hawaii we had a difficult time finding the perfect one, until we met Alicia. She did such a beautiful job on both our maternity and newborn session. Mind you, we have an almost two year old who does not hold still long enough to get a decent picture. Alicia was able to capture her in some beautiful poses! During our newborn session we went to her studio. Yes the room was warm but it's a NECCESSITY for newborns. Otherwise, they get cold and aren't sleepy enough to capture those coveted newborn poses.
