I feel like I have been in the Marriott tour of the South!!! This one is the winner! Keep in mind,…read moreI didn't try any of the food, or the gym. But the check in by Paula was the best, kindest and most professional. The bed was the most comfortable, I loved the Juliet balcony . The room felt clean and it was the quietest of all of the places if had been. And let's talk water pressure!!! It seems every Marriott bathroom looks and feels the same. The difference is the water pressure, and this one has amazing water pressure. I loved this shower!!! Of all of my recent Marriott stays in LA, Alabama and Florida--- this one is the best!!!

I came to this Courtyard by Marriott in Panama City (not PCB) for work…read more It was fine. Nothing wonderful, nothing terrible. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was nice. There's a breakfast in the am and the bar area I believe was open from 5-9pm daily. The hotel featured a pool but I saw no towels to use and it looked a little dingy back there. The room was good. Nice size. Had an area for me to work. The bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated. It had the separate sink/toilet. The towels were decent- some hotels have the cheapest towels. The area of the hotel was so-so. It had a lot of chain restaurants and a dead mall, but nothing really in the area to do. It was great for one night, but multiple nights would not be a place I'd stay. Overall it wasn't bad. I wasn't miserable, it just was an okay hotel.

Lots of changes since the last 2015 Yelp review. I've stayed at this hotel twice, in Oct '16 for…read more1-mo & for 2-wks in Feb '17. Is it perfect? No. Is it better than other modestly priced hotels? Depends. Check-In: * The good? Esther Spears, the General Manager often working the front desk is a doll... organized, thorough & pleasant. So is Chester, who works evenings. * The bad? All other front desk staff I've come in contact with are surly, aren't adept with skills & need further customer service & computer training. On my last trip, an older woman (Candie or some other cutsie pie name) distracted by her young, annoying granddaughter racing about took THIRTY min to check me into the wrong room... not cleaned, smoking. I returned & needed to wait in line for 20-min before being "helped" a 2nd time, only to be told there were no more rooms left. I waited 5-days for a NS room... nice... I & all my belongings wreaked of smoke by then. Amanda is quite rude, as well. She needs to be reminded she is Customer Service. On both stays, I've experienced people who gave me multiple answers to the same question in the same conversation, speak loudly & angrily at me when I asked for clarification (I hear quite well & speak English as a 1st language, cheers very much) & are dismissive in behavior & words when daring to bother them to do their jobs. Management needs to address their employee problem. The Rooms: * The good? Housekeeping staff works hard & are very professional women. If you stay a week or more, don't forget to leave a tip... these woman earn their pay. I've seen them standing on step ladders, washing down the tops of fridges & inside stove vents. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned, top to bottom. Full sized fridge, 2 stove top burners & microwave make home cooking possible. Lots of cabinet space, too, over & under the sink. (You can rent pots/pans/dishes/silverware/coffee pot at the front desk for about $20/wk, use your own or go to WalMart directly across the street to p/u a few things.) Also, a decent flat screen TV is a plus, but as Starz is the only movie channel, well, blah. You won't catch your fave HBO show here, but they do have all 4 major cable news channels, TWC & a pile of ESPN channels, if you're a sports junkie. * The bad? As someone said 2-yrs ago, everything smells of smoke. Since my Oct stay they've made the 3rd floor non-smoking, but smoke can be smelled all around as careless guests smoke in all the hallways AND the elevator & it rises up from the 2nd floor. Honestly, the 1st floor should be the NS floor. The Area: Callaway is a decent, safe section of PCity. 60-sec walk to several places to eat, on the same side of the street... Dairy Queen, Beef O'Brady's, a Chinese place & Starbucks. Frequently used outdoor ATM just next door, as well. WalMart, Sally's, Dollar Tree are across the street. Drive cuz the traffic is 50mph & you've got to sprint across 4 lanes. Winn Dixie is 1.5-mi away. The best? Price is approx $260/wk. If you book online at their website, it's cheapest, even for nightly stays ($60 for a walk in... ouch). Comfy beds. Basic WiFi is now free with a decent signal. (Note: With spring break, the hotel jumped to $450/wk, as have all FL hotels.) The worst? A/C-heating wall units turn on-off all night, waking me continually... as I'm a light sleeper, I was exhausted the entire stay. For that reason alone, I wouldn't stay again. Sadly, I'd forgotten about that since my stay 6-mos ago. For me, -1* for the a/c alone. An after hours phone is in front of the desk, which is blocked off via gate between 9pm & 9am & a bigger chunk of time on the weekends, but good luck ever getting anyone to answer. Meaning... don't loose your key or try to check in after 9pm or expect to be helped after their posted hours. There's always a 20+ min wait at the front desk for any reason... you need a laundry card (the only way to operate the machines), you have to reset your key, anything else. They really do need 2 people present at all times. They can have a dicey clientele. Many rooms are stuffed with 2 adults & 2-4 kids or glassy eyed couples, some who are locked out for varying reasons at the end of the week. The biggest problem with that is I've been locked out TWICE. The last time, I had to beg housekeeping to let me into my room, as their Sun front desk hours begin at 3pm. It was noon & I was ill & determined to haunt her 'til she let me in. A $5 helped, but still... I paid for my room, don't tell me I'm not entitled to be in it for 3-hrs! They need to sort this out... it's very frustrating. NOTE: It's extended stay, so has different rules than hotels. READ the pamphlet given at check-in or on the website Re: room cleaning, linen change, so there are no complaints should you be charged $9/wk for extra cleaning, etc. It's your $... read or ask Esther or Chester.

Absolute rip off. The price they advertise is never available. There are no amenities, no shampoo,…read moreno coffee maker, mattresses are placed on plywood. GROSS. Staff is rude, doesn't care and can't be bothered. Agreement requires you clean your own room before check out or else you pay for them to clean, what crap is that. Would never recommend this place again. Would rather sleep in my car then stay there. They have a good website but it is a complete lie, don't go.
