Three or four local restaurants served good food at a fair price. One is directly across the street. Three are a few blocks away, so an easy walk. All very clean. The local brewery Hirsch creates a n award winning wheat beer that is extremely good. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. English was OK, much better than my german. I had no issues communicating A free breakfast that was excellent! I loved the rye bread, lifes simple pleasures. It includes eggs prepared to order, multiple breads and croissants, a fruit bar, a yogurt bar, about a dozen types of meat ( i had bacon, salami and smoked trout), cereals hot and cold, coffee and tea. Rooms were good size for europe, everything worked well. Free TV and Internet access. Pool and sauna was awesome. (I visited in February) I will come back !

I was recently on a tour of Austria, German and Switzerland, when we got to the Black Forest, the…read moreweather was not cooperating, we had been touring and the weather had been hot and since I've still been having issues with my back and knee and since I heard the area was well known for it's thermal baths, I asked about Badeparadies and OMG!! it was awesome, it was only a half mile walk from our hotel Bruggers and when we got there I wanted to cry, the lines were so long it didn't look like we would get in, an announcement had been made in German that they couldn't allow anyone in until some people exited the park, my roommate asked one of the cashiers and she asked if we had kids, which we didn't and she told us we could come into the Palm area, you get a cool wrist band which is electronic, and on it is the locker number, with the band you can lock and unlock your locker, very SECRET SERVICE MAN, LOL...once we changed we into our suits we stepped into NIRVANA..again, OMG...you walk into what looks like a giant green house with beautiful palm trees and orchids planted throughout, it was so beautiful, you could see the sky (cloudy and rainy as it was and in the upper 50's!) and at the end of the 'green house' was a revolving door in the water where you could swim to the outside steaming pool and Jacuzzi, I thought I'd freeze going out there but OMG..it felt so good, once I stepped into the pool I swear you could hear my big sigh of pleasure and relief all the way to the states!! The water was warm and it was fresh water...sitting in the Jacuzzi and swirling waters felt wonderful to my sore battered tourist body...it was 16 Euros for an hour and a half and it was sufficient, any time over 15 minutes was an additional Euro (and well worth it, LOL) once we got back to the hotel we found out that free entry was included with the City Card we had received so roomie and I headed off the following night once again, we got there around 8 and stayed until they closed, different crowd and much less crowded. There is a swim up bar and you can use that cool wrist bracelet to pay for your drinks, you cash out once you are leaving the facility. I wholeheartedly recommend it. The Galaxie park is a water park and that was the one with the lines out the door, and there is another section called Wellness with saunas and the like, you can get a combo ticket and oh yeah, the Wellness park is 'textile free', they are currently adding on to the facility, definitely a place to relax on your trip to the Lake Titisee area!

The water in the pool is heated so you can swim in the outdoor pool and not be cold at all. There's water aerobic that you can join at any moment. Just stay behind everyone if you don't think you'll stay for the whole session. There's even a tanning place, there are lights in the ceiling and you can lay down for a bit and relax. The sauna OMG is so BIG you can't even realize there are people in the room! However there's not a lot of showers so you'll have to wait for ages to get your turn. Definitely, worth going after skiing or even hiking. I don't remember the price and don't speak/read German. Too bad their website is in German it would have been much more helpful.

Access to the hotel is easy and reception staff are friendly and quick. Rooms are reasonably spacious, clean and in good condition. The hotel, being on the edge of town, is quiet. A lift provides access to the various floors. A table in the restaurant is allocated to you, so for both breakfast and dinner (for those on half-board) you can go straight to your table without waiting to be seated. The quality of food served to those on half board is very good, with a soup, salad (from the extensive buffet), choice of mains and dessert. A once-weekly treat for meat lovers is the "grill evening" where the main course is replaced by a grill-buffet (of a very high standard). Service in the restaurant is quick (even on busy nights) and very friendly. Breakfast consists of an extensive buffet offering various cheeses and an array of cold meats (including fine Schwarzwälder Schinken, naturally), yoghurts, preserves, fruits juices and a wide selection of bread and rolls. The cafe (with terrace) offers coffee and cake from lunchtime onwards. Spa and sauna facilities are extensive and modern with a humorous Black Forest twist in the form of the "tree-house sauna". Further renovations of the reception and bar area are planned. Location-wise, the hotel sits at the top end of Tonbach, just up the valley from the Traube Tonbach. The area has extensive walking, hiking and cycling routes with extremely well marked paths and routes. The hotel also makes an excellent base for gourmets visiting the world famous restaurants of the town of Baiersbronn, in particular the "Schwarzwaldstube" which is only 100m away.
