The students are all such a fun bunch. The dance parents are so helpful and have a great camaraderie. My family loves everything about Manuia so much that we find ourselves there pretty much everyday of the week! Manuia offers dances from the islands of Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti, Hawaii, and New Zealand. My daughter loves them all and can't pick a favorite! With the help of her teachers, she recently choreographed her very own Ori Tahitian routine! Manuia recitals happen every Spring and Fall. I can't express enough what a great show Manuia puts on! Opportunities for both private (think birthday parties and luaus) and public shows (such as with the NBA and MLB) are in abundance throughout the year. Opportunities to compete are scattered throughout the year as well. All are voluntary, but we find ourselves signing up most of the time! We honestly love Manuia that much! The pricing is like no other. As of the date of this review, one flat fee per month and you have access to every single class! There are additional costs to participating in recitals, shows, and competitions. Most additional costs come from costumes and registration fees, but again are all voluntary. Every experience and show have been memorable. The most memorable experience for us? When my daughter won first place in her category at Manahere! That one is pretty hard to top. Runner ups are when she performed at an NBA halftime show and all of the shows that my daughter, husband, and I performed in. Oh yes, my husband and I are students as well! When time permits, I participate in their Mehura class. I love, love, love dancing with the ladies! Although requiring lots of control and grace, the movements are slower compared to the Ori Tahitian dancing. I am not much of a dancer, but I enjoy it so much still. At the very least, it's an amazing workout. My husband and I attend a Tahitian drumming class weekly. It has been a lot of fun! I can honestly go on and on about Manuia. We feel that dancing for young children should be fun and creative and that teachers should be child friendly, fun and keep the instruction age appropriate. We found Pamelot almost a year ago and immediately loved it and could instantly feel the difference from other studios. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the owners are so kind and personable and are genuinely just really nice people who care about their students and parents and welcome and ask for parent input in regards to their programs. The teachers are wonderful, fun, energetic and are very good with children. The facility and dance studios are clean and every room has a viewing window with plenty of seating for parents to wait and watch their children dance. This is very important to me as a parent and something other studios do not offer in all rooms. They also regularly invite parents into the room to watch the children perform something they have learned. They even have a lounge room with tv and activities for siblings to wait in while their siblings dance. This makes waiting so much more relaxing for us parents. We love everything they offer including the month long summer camps and find that making the drive from Rocklin to Auburn is so worth it for us. A Huge Difference in Training!…read more My two daughters had been training in Sacramento for several years in different types of dance programs, but unfortunately we were not seeing real progress or clear direction in their ballet training. Everything changed when we met Oksana and Arsen. We actually started driving to the Bay Area so the girls could train with them, and we continued doing this over an extended period of time because the quality of training was completely different. Their teaching is extremely detailed, structured, and focused on proper classical technique. For the first time, my daughters began to truly understand their goals and what it takes to become strong ballet dancers. When Oxana and Arsen moved to the Sacramento area and opened their school, we were incredibly grateful. Sacramento has many dance schools, but what was missing was this level of serious classical ballet training, discipline, and passion for the art form. Since training with them, my daughters' love for ballet has grown tremendously because the program is focused, professional, and inspiring. I believe important policies should be communicated before payment is accepted, not only after a problem occurs.
