These folks are liars! I had them come out late one night and because it was late he seen the issue but had to come back with the whole crew. They came back with more people and found that it was a city sewage blockage. The crazy thing is they closed out the work order stating it was completed and they came in and snaked the blockage, only that they never came to the house. Then today I called and the tech told the office he called the city and that the city hasn't done their repairs. I then called the city and they personally told me to my face they fixed it a long time ago. So they lied about fixing it, lied that the city hadn't done their jobs. These people need to be put out of business! This is terrible! read more

Just an FYI... I needed an appliance repair because Brittany with Tutor Appliance failed to write down my appointment when I called Monday. They called this morning and said they could come. They showed up turned my dryer on and off, told me it was an idler pulley and that the office would call me in a couple of days with a price on the replacement parts and how long it would take to get them. I was presented with a 134.06 bill for the 3 minute visit. I had called James Smith after Tutor failed to show Tuesday. I called back after the visit this morning and asked him to come and repair it instead. He came with the part he had diagnosed over the phone; disassembled my dryer; vacuumed out enough dog hair to create a new one; replaced the part and put the thing back together again for a grand total of 155.15. I did verify the 134.06 would not go toward any repairs for Tutor. I would recommend against TUTOR APPLIANCE if you value your time and money! read more

They were contacted about a plumbing issue I was having on February first. A week later I call because I hadn't heard. My service got them on the phone and they said they would call. After 3 weeks I still haven't heard from them. I canceled my request and spent $300 at Lowe's to resolve the issue. So much for having a home warranty. read more

HVAC unit blowing warm air. Called and made an appointment, had to wait 5 days. No show. Called to find out why, they knew nothing of appt. Setup another appt for next day. No show again. Called to find out why, again they knew nothing of appt. They called me back and said owner was at my house banging on door and calling me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I needed an oven heating element replaced. Called 12/29/23 and they said it would be Tuesday (1/2/24) before they could come. I said that was perfectly fine because of the holiday. Tuesday-no call, no show. I called on Wednesday (1/3/24) and was told that the technician that had me had called out on Tuesday and I would be placed on the list for Thursday (1/4/24). I was polite and understanding. Thursday morning I received a call from Lisa and she proceeded to tell me she had 2 numbers listed for me and she had given the technician the wrong one (which was a lie because the only numbers I would've given were mine and my husbands and he never received a phone call). Again I was polite and understanding. She then told me he would come Friday. I then call Friday (1/5/24) around 12:00 to inquire when the tech might come. She then said Brad the tech would not be able to come until Monday. I asked could she guarantee he come Monday afternoon? She then placed me on hold and said he MIGHT be able to come late Friday afternoon. Never received a phone call from the tech on Friday. So today is Monday 1/8/24 and it was starting to get around 4:00 so I decided to call to see if they were coming. Lisa answers so I asked when was the latest that techs would come to do a repair. She said depending on the storms coming in she wasn't sure. At this point I got angry. I said "are y'all just f**ing with me?" She said ma'am, if I use that language again she would take me off the list. I said you have lied to me several times and she said I have not lied and that Brad was going to PICK UP THE PART THAT THEY HAD TO ORDER at 4:15-4:30 (turns out the part hadn't come in) But they never came out to see what part needed to be replaced. Lisa would not let me get another word in to let her know how terrible of a business practice this was because she said she was taking me off the list and hung up even though I didn't use foul language again. If you had to order the part then WHY DID YOU SAY THERE WOULD BE A TECH COMING TO MY HOUSE ON 4 DIFFERENT DAYS? You could have told the truth and said you had order the part and you would call me when it came in instead of me waiting around for a phone call that was never going to come. I then went to a local appliance part store and found the exact heating element I needed and will be installing the part myself. read more

This company is one of the most unprofessional repair services in the area. We had a refrigerator under warranty that was referred to them by the vendor. After 5 weeks and repeated calls with no indicated repair date, we were finally told we were on their list to call to tell us they would not be repairing due to a dispute with the refrigerator vendor. They had the work order all that time with no follow through. Calls were not returned when asked to do so. Office staff seemed very unorganized. read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!! POS company. Originally had air-conditioning problems. I used to do Air conditioning in military and as civilion for years. Well first guy came out at end of summer because ac was not cooling. First when you walk to condenser sounds like compressor is airplane cutting on this is other reason I called. Well they stay out here just talking with gauges on for about 2 hours. The final diagnoses is I'm low on freon. Well guy says you are all good. I asked him well if I'm low doesn't that probably mean I have a leak and what about the loud horrible sound. So his answer is oh no they all leak here and there and all Rheem sound like that. Then he says you know a air conditioner is like a heart you gotta give it what it needs to keep going. Well I had to make him leave after that before I snapped. So still have airplane in back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL YOU ARE GAMBLING WITH YOUR MONEY. THE TECHS ARE ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY. IF ITS UNDER WARRANTY THEY JUST WANT TO COME OUT AND SAY ITS FREON PROBLEM OR SOMETHING SMALL SO THEY CAN MAKE THAT HOURLY WAGE AND DO NOTHING ELSE. SORRYEST AIR CONDITIONING PLACE EVER USED OR BEEN AROUND. 2nd time coming out. This is winter time 2 months after they fixed unit. Now unit looks like a block of ice outside. Compressor still sounds like airplane and unit is struggling so bad line sets in attic can be heard throughout whole house all hours of day and night. Tech comes out I tell him exactly what is going on he can see my unit is frozen. Well diagnosis again is oh your low on freon but I don't have any on truck or equipment to test for leaks or equipment to test compressor. This is a service tech so it seems all they carry on vehicle is gauges and screws I've never met a tech that didn't have freon on hand. They said they would be back next day. Still no heat. They tested nothing else out in house unit just opened door of upflow unit and said oh it's had work before. They got in truck and left. ONCE AGAIN BE CAUTIOUS WITH THIS COMPANY I REALLY DO NOT WISH THESE PEOPLE ON ANYONE. ALL ABOUT GETTING THAT WARRANTY CHECK. Scheduled a meeting 2 days in advance. I call in work to go in late so I can meet tutors at my house, but after 3 hours of no show I call Tutor's to see where they're at (I understand people get busy). They don't remember what the problem is and didn't remember scheduling a time. Then they said they'd come by later and so I burned the rest of my day off waiting and they never showed. So I burned and wasted a whole day of work off for them, and they didn't even come. This is the second time I was forced to use them through insurance, and they sucked the first time too. read more

My dishwasher's rails broke and I called them to see if they could fix it. It took 3 days for them to send someone. He got here at 9:30 at night and charged me $91 to tell me what I already knew (that the rails were broke). Then they are going to charge me to come back and replace them IF they can even get the parts. It's been 3 days and haven't heard back from them. I've called several times and they always need to time to "look into it". Horrible service. I'll never use them again. read more

Terrible experience! They came out to do warranty work and said they would have to send a diagnosis to insurance company. 24+ hours later and they still haven't turned it in. I went with another company who came out within an hour and fixed the issue. I would suggest doing your research. read more

We have used Tutor's twice. Once for an appliance repair and most recently for a plumbing issue. We were very pleased with the service. When I called the office Michelle was very friendly and helpful. The plumber called me the same day to set up a time to come to the house and was prompt in getting here. Because we have a home warranty, and the way that it is set up,the plumber had to submit his findings to the home warranty company before fixing the issue. Another plumber, Kevin, came back to the house and after some more investigating was able to resolve our plumbing issue. Overall we have been very pleased with the services Tutor's has done for us and we would recommend them to others. read more

They came out and fixed our plumbing problem very quickly and gave us pointers on how to avoid it happening again/gave us a quote for a longer term fix when we were ready to do so. Don't bother with them, or with Lowes warranty service. We have been without a working refrigerator since mid-March. Not once have they called me back, I have to call them repeatedly. May 29th, 2 days from now, will be 9 weeks without a working refrigerator. Today we were finally scheduled and I was told around 12 or 1 o'clock would work fine. I requested this so my wife could come home on her lunch to supervise. I was told the procedure would take longer than that but they would keep us on the schedule for that time. I frantically had to ask to take half the day off from work, an hour's commute from home to come home in time for the repair. It's now almost 5 pm and I've done nothing but sit here calling repeatedly for the past 5 hours because they can't seem to reach their tech. I've now missed work when I didn't have to, and have been without a fridge for 9 weeks, and am not holding my breath that it will even be fixed when they eventually come. They tried a different repair before and it failed. *Side note back to Lowes, we called them and asked for the buyout/replacement option after 7 weeks and they declined.* read more

Ice maker leaking, they sent a repairman not familiar with ice makers. I had the machine out for him to work on. He looked at it and stated he and the owner would come back to look closer. He charged 80$ and left. I looked at the machine and quickly found the simple problem. A zip tie had not been cut off during manufacture and was touching the condensation coil, allowing water to run outside the machine. I talked with the owner today and he offered no apologies nor refund for this poor service. read more

Then I called at the end of their time window, and I was told there was van trouble and they would still be there that day. They came and added freon in my unit and charged $250. When I asked how many lbs. of freon they added they could not tell me. How do you run a "business" and not be able to tell someone how much of the product that they put in. Please don't waste your time or money using these people. Have been out to my house FIVE different times to "fix" the SAME issue. Terrible miscommunication between the two guys they keep sending out. One guy orders the wrong parts, and then when the other guy comes to work on the dryer he can't actually work on it because he doesn't have the right parts. They tell me they "got me mixed up" with another lady in the neighborhood. They have literally replaced basically every part on my dryer, including the motor yesterday. The dryer stopped working AGAIN last night after the supposedly new motor replacement. I have to use them because my manufacturer warranty is through Lowe's. I have had this dryer less than one year. In their defense, my new washing machine also stopped working less than one year from date of purchase. I don't know if Tutor's just doesn't know what they are doing or if my appliances are just crap (GE Hotpoint). This issue has been going on for THREE months! Each time they come out and do not fix it properly, I have to call into Lowe's again and file a completely NEW complaint even though it's the same problem which remains unfixed. Frustrating!! I feel like at this point Lowe's should just send me a new dryer. read more
