We knew she was ready for more than we could offer at home. So we wanted to make sure she was in an environment of learning, creativity and top notch care. After touring many schools and montessoris in our area, we finally got an appointment at DPK. We were so pleased from the moment we pulled up into the parking lot. The school is in a beautiful and lush area, with so many trees and beautiful greenery. No heavy traffic or too many buildings around. Everything was super clean and NEW! We were greeted by Ms. Laurie the school Director, who also gave us our tour. She was sweet, energetic and funny. The school has been completely remodeled . All the class rooms are New and immaculate. It's not too big, which we loved!! They had everything we were looking for. A music room, library, and great gym with all new kids equipment and toys. The class rooms were beautiful, organized and soooooo clean! They even had a Viewing Glass area, were we could stop by and peek into the class without the kids seeing us. This gave us so much peace of mind. We were also able to meet the teacher Ms. Sabrina, and speak with her about her experience and teaching philosophy. We knew right away we had found our School! Thankfully there was a spot available and we got our little one registered right away! After 4 months of going to DPK our kiddo has blossomed in so many ways! The growth is amazing to watch. She is talking so much and is always happy and excited to go to school. The entire DPK team is truly the BEST. They are caring, experienceed, and knowledgeable. They are always available to speak and give us feedback on how our little one is doing. Ms Laurie, Ms Cynthia, Ms Sabrina, Ms Gabby, these ladies are such a blessing! Our daughter has been attending Kumon for reading and math for 3 month. We thought she was…read moreprogressing until she got hung up on "green," we soon learned that all she could do was sound out words. We do all of the homework, and read to/with her at night. Although she sounds out words they have taught her nothing about letter combination sounds like "or," "oo" or "th." She doesn't know basic sight words like "here," "does" or "all." The "tutors" are high school student who, through no fault of their own, have no idea how to instruct children. They have taught her by the design of their books to look at the picture and guess at the answer. She was evaluated and has no learning issues. We are extremely disappointed with what we've gotten for all the time and money we've spent. It's almost as if they set her back. I would recommend to any parent to seek assistance elsewhere.

Her school offered tutoring but in no way shape or form could present the curriculum or plan. Her confidence was low and every parent teacher meeting left us feeling helpless since we were doing everything we could to boost skills at home. A close friend of our reccomended Kumon at the Tower Shops after hearing our daughter was doing summer school instead of camp. We started her immediatly the next week and we were astonished at the mountains she had overcome during the summer. When the school year began she was not even phased at her classwork and in our household Kumon became mandatory before homework. You know "eat the frog first" kind of thinking. It is a lot of work on top of homework and at times we were concerned if she was working to hard. Than she started getting faster and faster at mathematical computations. She began reading harder and harder books. Her handwriting improved. Most importantly she became disciplined all her own. Looking forward to her next Kumon buck and getting dissapointed when she had not completed the work. She was confident and assertive in her classroom. The owner requires a sit down every six months and has an open appointment policy whenever we feel as though our daughter is struggling. She definitely a no nonsense woman but was always very helpful when we needed. As an unconventional family with mt husband being asian and adopted our latin and caucasian daughter we never experienced racism? The owner was nothing but helpful and even worked hard to find another Kumon in our new location. Thank you Mrs. Ireen and all the tutors that helped our daughter get to where shes at.
