We are from the States and were very concerned that we wouldn't find the high standard of care that we are used to at home. (I guess our dogs are spoiled at our day care at home). We were so pleasantly surprised and relieved when we found Florence Pet Sitting!!! Maryanne directed us to an easy parking area very close to the day care (we don't have a city pass and had a lot of things to carry) including two shepherds! Her space is so cute and really set up like a home, specifically for the pets. Open areas, toys, beds, treats, NO CAGES, which we loved. She did everything she advertised and we received our pictures and updates. Our only concern was the small garden area but we know it is in the city and our dogs were so tired from walks and basically touring the town that it didn't matter for us. They came home happy and even barked and cried when we left her shop. They wanted to stay! Our shepherds require a lot of brushing, small amounts of medications and a particular home made diet. ( I know, we are nuts) but she had absolutely no problem at all and a little kitchen to keep the foods and meds cold. We felt that they really had a genuine care for our dogs as they asked pertinent questions that were related to the form we filled out. I highly recommend Florence Pet Sitting to anyone visiting, living or needing only day care in Florence. Very easy to get to as well! One other great things they are open 365 days a year!! We have regularly been using Maryanne with Florence Pet Sitting since we moved to Italy in 2016. We have had a number of experiences with dog kennels and pet sitters over the past 20 years while living in the US (Rhode Island, California and Massachusetts) and Germany. I would rate Maryanne as the best of all of them. My dog is happy to be with her. She regularly sends updates by WhatsApp. She screens the dogs she watches and has high standards for their safety and well-being, requiring the dogs to get along well with each other. She walks the dogs multiple times per day. She maintains the safety of the dogs by always walking them on leashes. She cares for each dog on a personal level, offering them love and affection. This is also evident by the photos she takes of my dog and what she shares with me about my dog. A few times she took my dog on day trips to the countryside for hikes when she had only a couple of dogs to watch. She has given my dog medication and also evaluated her condition while we were away. I also know that she is connected with veterinarians and will take my dog to one in an emergency, which is a MUST for a great pet sitter. And to top it all, she is very organized, responsive and professional with setting up appointments (including stays, drop offs and pick ups) and any communications and she is flexible with my schedule. read more

I'm new to yelp and have actually never reviewed anything online. I signed up just to review Florence pet Sitting, as we had such a positive experience when leaving our dog. My wife and I were very nervous about leaving our dog while we were exploring Florence. They made us feel at ease immediately! They were punctual, professional and very understanding. We received the funniest photos of Benji and I think our dog saw more of Florence than we did! I actually didn't think my dog was capable of socializing very well but these guys are really knowledgeable and have a calm demeanor with the pets. They have a great team, including the owner Maryanne, who all seem to have specific back grounds with animals. We received updates and pictures and they really listened to our requests with Benji. I couldn't recommend a better service for pets in Florence if you're visiting! We honestly thought about leaving him overnight just because he was having so much fun! But we just did day care and he was happy each day he came back. We Loved Florence Pet Sitting and their awesome staff! read more

I wish I had a service as good as Florence Pet Sitting back in Canada. Whatever situation I put my dog into there - at home pet sitters, kennel services, pet 'spas', etc. - after picking her up she would be tired, stressed and needy. We pick up our dog after staying with Maryanne and her very able employees (including Nel, who took care of her most recently), and our dog is rested, calm, happy, with no issues whatsoever. Maryanne is extremely professional in terms of being organized, responsible and responsive, but also in being very thoughtful about what the animals need, about their psychology and comfort. We get regular updates and photos which comfort us to no end and give us an idea of what our pet is doing during the day (and better pet shots than we take). I trust her implicitly, and I will trust our dog to her any time we need to. I can't recommend her service in higher terms. I imagine that whoever writes differently must be a competitor and not a pet owner who has used her services. read more

First let me start off by saying my two dogs are like children to me. I am very careful and protective of them. When I started working outside of Florence my first concern was their well being. How could I leave them for so long each day? I met with Maryanne and Nell about 3 years ago and I knew right off the bat that they would be a perfect fit for my little guys. I know whether they are going for day care or overnight stays they are in great hands. They always make sure to update me by text and send pictures. They are extremely flexible with pick ups and drop offs. My dogs LOVE hopping out of the car and literally run over to whomever is picking them up. They especially love Nell! Sometimes I think they are a little disappointed when they have to come home at the end of the day. I would and do highly recommend Florence Pet Sitting to anyone with pet sitting needs. read more

Do not be fooled by other "sitting services" These guys are the only registered and insured service (I checked it!) that seem to be legit! We really were on a budget, but after booking two, yes two, other "sitters", we were so shockingly disappointed that we ended up calling who we should have called to begin with. Florence Pet sitting was so professional and the staff really took great care of our dog Betsy. They were conscientious about the heat, traffic and genuinely had a knowledge of dogs and the city in general. They were very flexible and accommodating. They have a calm demeanor with the dogs in general. I didn't realize that in Italy, to have a "legitimate" business, the cost is outrageous. I truly commend them for putting the pets first and not cutting corners!! read more

We left Gracie with Florence Pet Sitting while we traveled to a few other cities in Tuscany, and I can't decide who had more fun, the dog or us! We received photos and updates about what she was doing and one of the photos was so fantastic that it is now framed and displayed in our home. I had been nervous about leaving our dog, but after meeting Maryanne and her staff at the dog park and seeing how their daycare group interacted, I felt completely at ease. Gracie had never been to the dog park at home, but seeing how much fun she had here in Florence, it has become part of our routine. These are thoughtful professionals. Florence Pet Sitting is a fantastic place for your dog. We were living in Florence for 5 months this past winter and arranged for pet sitting for our dog Chuckles multiple times. The entire staff is wonderful with dogs. Chuckles loved it there and the other dogs to play with. I highly recommend you check them out when you are in Florence.
