Been renting from this place, once a summer for the last 7 years. This past time will be the last. No one seemed to know what was going on. Made a reservation 3 weeks in advance with Credit card. The big day finally comes and we are excited. We roll up to the marina to find a bunch of confused millennials with zero direction. The teenager behind the counter, is in over her head with the 4 people in line. They gave us a different boat then we reserved with no cover. We had a couple gingers on board that needed that shade. The boat is a run down piece of shit with IPOD 1 hook ups for music. We called ahead to ensure we didn't need anything for listening to music on the boat. Overall, not a great start. Finally we get our life jackets. One of the other children working there is taking us through the boat and how it works. He clearly could not give a shit about us and our desire to get on the lake. Probably on some sort of edible. "the Prop is Brand new" he says. "You Can look at it or trust me". I wanted to look at it and good thing. It was all banged up on the edges. Boat won't start. Finally with the kid mucking around with the boat and putting it in neutral, but full throttle it fires up. We take it anyway because we were all set up to have a banger of a day and figure if it breaks down they can just come and get us. We booked for 3 hours, but decided we wanted to add another hour. We called in to confirm - They already had our credit information. "Sorry we need you to come in and pay for another hour" - You could't just take it off the $1000 deposit that we had on the boat. So we rip in (burning through Gas that we would end up paying for). Overall horrible experience. I know we are one group out of a zillion for the summer, but our yearly boat trip will be taking place somewhere else next year. The extra $50-100 at the El Dorado Hotel will be worth it next year. read more
