I am totally confused! I get mail with sad donkey stories & pics, yet the Dansville, MI place I cannot correlate to my mailing showing Natl. Support Center, P.O. Box Merrifield, VA. 22116. Was going to give, but something seems amiss. Maybe they should post an explanation and/or explain in their mailing. I have donated to this organization.I am also aware that they are a very small operation and charity navigator gives them a low score, mainly because of their financial management. They need to increase their efforts toward having a board that is composed of independent members that could provide better stewardship of their finances. This would help them to increase their resources and revenue, as well as improve their overall operation and ratings. Without doing this, their continued existence is dependent upon very few people and very few resources. I would love to see their organization gain strength and power by making these improvements because I think their hearts are in the right places. read more

This is a relatively small donkey rescue charity based in Michigan with a facility in Va. I have visited it and saw all the animals being helped. Take a look at Charity Navigator completely & read everything. Turning Pointe's low ratings are based on the organization's liabilities to assets %, a higher expense-to-program ratio & high fundraising costs only. It resembles PETA in the early days...But they are helping & caring for abused animals which is the point... I am grateful for their efforts... As for Charity Navigator, they too have a helpful purpose but slipped their donation page in while I thought I was on the donkey rescue site...please make an informed decision & choice by looking at all aspects of something instead of just one. read more

How can I explain the work they do is of saints! Their hearts and souls are those of angels on earth. May they continue to care and rescue these sentient beings for always. Their communication platforms are always full of the activities and progress they are making. They deserve only kindness and support. read more

I am thankful to God for humans whom see animals with compassion. And, though, there may be a miss communication for any reason, the cause of the organization is a Blessing to the donkeys. These are animals that are very intelligent and God created them with the same love he created humans and to treat them with a lil heart full of evil cruelty is not serving God and appreciate him for all forms of life. Every form of life has a mission in this world and not life is less than another, as ALL FORMS OF LIFE MATTER BECAUSE GOD MATTERS. Organizations like this one struggle to educate individuals to treat animals humanely and to assist to the care of these donkeys. I have no idea what the reviewer from 2/27/2020 is talking about. I think they are very confused. Turning Point Donkey Rescue is indeed a registered charity. I have visited their operation in Dansville and adopted from them, as has my neighbor. They run an amazing rescue, take care of hundreds of donkeys and mules in a year and have a terrific staff and large volunteer contingent. They do not have a mailing address in VA and clearly show their contact information on their website. Fancy dissing on a charity without doing the most basic investigation. This organization claims to be a charity but there is no indication that is so. They swamp you with donation envelopes containing Kennedy half-dollars but never stop, even when you request they do so.The coins are to guilt you into donating. I've left a message on their voice mail but no call back. It's interesting that the mailing address is Virginia but the phone number is Michigan. This appears to be a big scam. Stay away! read more
