Our recent visits with the new dentist, Dr. Martinez, were among the most uncomfortable dental experiences we've had. She was rushed, dismissive, and physically rough. The fillings she did were left unpolished and uneven, and when we tried to raise concerns, they were brushed off with comments like, "You're good--you feel good." There was no pause to actually check our comfort or the quality of the work. It felt transactional, not patient-centered. During my appointment, Dr. Martinez and her assistant carried on a personal conversation in Spanish over me the entire time. I understand Spanish, and it was clear the conversation (about cars and driving in Venezuela) took priority over my care. It made me feel ignored and uncomfortable. When I later called to schedule a visit with Dr. Rocky to correct the rough filling, I was made to feel as though the issue was my fault. I was also told he doesn't take my insurance, which was confusing given that the work needed correction. After being rushed through an appointment and left with a poor result, the response felt dismissive rather than accountable. We also experienced repeated issues with the front office. Despite clearly explaining multiple times that my husband and I share the same insurance, staff insisted they couldn't find my information and suggested it was likely "under my husband, since usually the husband insures the family."
